I'm not getting it...
The only images I can find anywhere are of mild flooding and a tree down here or there. The area where several buildings burnt down looks bad.
Other than that I see no devastation and destruction unique to hurricanes. For example, after Katrina on the Mississippi gulf coast entire neighborhoods of multi-story mansions were just -- gone. Maybe a foundation pole left sticking up among rolling dunes of splintered materials. Automobiles 30ft up in trees.
I'm not getting it. This was just some flooding and a few trees down.

The hurricane that was... a few hundred miles south.
Sandy continues to merge with what was once two cold weather systems already dumping snow in West Virginia, forming what the hurricane center calls post-tropical...
The storm lost its status as hurricane because it no longer has a warm core center nor the convection — the upwards air movement in the eye — that traditional hurricanes have... It tipped into the post-tropical category because it has become “devoid of thunderstorms near the center,” said Ed Rappaport, deputy director of the NHC.
--------
News left the actual facts of the storm & gone to ranting abut the flood below sea level as if it super-natural. Franken-storm? Super Storm?

If Sandy had hit...
the coasts of Mississippi, Alabama or the Florida panhandle and caused the same amount of "destruction" the locals would have sighed in relief and said, "Rather mild hurricane. Mostly flooding and tree damage.". :p

Let us come to terms.

And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the BOW
shall be seen in the cloud:
And I shall remember my covenant which is between me and you and every
living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to
destroy all flesh.
Gen. 9:14-15
Don't be so down, the up side
Don't be so down, the up side to this is that there will be a ton of well paying jobs available rebuilding in the Northeast.

the comments were the saddest thing in the article...... go read some, if you can stomach the ignorance of your fellow man.
blood donations
They're saying that blood donations will be in short supply on the east coast. I have common type that almost anyone can use and my daughter has a rare type that in always in demand. We will be donating blood today and earmarking it for use there. I hope everyone is well and are riding out this storm safely.
