I voted in Ottawa County

280 people voted through 4:00. This area is 85% Republican. More Ron Paul signs than any else (however for sale signs outnumber then all). Here he is not popular because he is against the war. Many confuse their religious beliefs with whom to vote for. Huckabee and Romney will do well.
Conservatives here don't get where he is coming from. It seems everyone has lost the constitution. The good news is that he is getting known. A good start.

In my area of Michigan in the exit polling

Rudy Giuliani - 0.9%
Mike Huckabee - 10.9%
Duncan Hunter - 1.4%
John McCain - 13.1%
Ron Paul - 12.2%
Mitt Romney - 18.1%
Tom Tancredo - 0.0%
Fred Thompson - 5.0
If its like that here, it will look better east of me for Dr. Paul...hopefully.:)

Nothing yet though (5:23 PM Central). Couple hours to go...

We don't need to get over

We don't need to get over condident. I did in Iowa and NH and was disappointed. It took me some time to get over that.

We need to look at the positives of whatever numbers come out of Mich.

I would be very happy with us finishing 4th ahead of Thompson and Guliani.

2nd or 3rd would be nice, but I would not bet on it. We still have a long way to go. I hope we do well, but however it turns out I will continue to spread Dr. Paul's message and work for his election.

He is the only hope we have to turn this ship around?

If Hillary or McCain win. I would lock and load and head to the hills.

I too romanticize about the "hills"

But I would prefer the comforts of today's society. If only the Politicians would stop F-ing it up for the rest of us.

Yikes

I am starting to sound like a discontented citizen.

MAP?

I want to see one of these real time tickers like on NH

Apparently

this count will be given out live after the polls close.

Politico.com is the place I've been going to for the last two primaries.

so

how do you mean? Are they just going to announce once all of the vote is tallied? Just curious, just assumed it would be the same as NH.

NH was unique

NH had several counties that closed early, two closed right after midnight. MI all the counties close at 8 results will start coming in county by county as they are counted.

Honestly, I don't know...

I was assuming it was going to be the same as the first two as well. I just know Michigan is obviously doing it differently. ;)

It's pretty much the same here as anywhere..

but we have a standard polling time of 7am until 8pm, IA and NH both had precincts that started voting earlier. We will get results from some of the smaller precincts just after 8pm for sure and they will keep rolling in all night.

It has been slow from

what I understand. People are getting home from work now so it will most likely pick up. Ron Paul Air Force flew over today my husband saw it. We had snow last night and that my hold some people from going out to vote. That could be a Ron Paul blessing.

5:55 PM

Just voted in Prec 8, it was quite crowded. My mom voted in Grand Rapids and said there were only 3 people there.

You have to choose if you want a Rep or Dem ballot

Muslim newspaper endorses Ron Paul in Michigan!

someone posted earlier on another forum:

Muslim newspaper endorses Ron Paul in Michigan

This is big because from what I understand, the Muslims take voting seriously and in Michigan the Muslim population is about 500,000.

Could you imagine if all the Muslims came through for us?

Muslim newspaper endorses Ron Paul in Michigan
The Muslim Observer endorsed Congressman Ron Paul in the Michigan Republican primary.
Tuesday, January 15, 2008
By Martin Barillas S

The Muslim Observer, a newspaper based in Michigan, came down on the side of the presidential candidacy of Republican Congressman Ron Paul of Texas. "The Muslim community in Michigan has a unique opportunity to beat the pundits by voting as a block for Ron Paul as the Republican candidate".

The newspaper added "Ron Paul meets the Muslim community's major concern about War in Iraq - an issue that every media outlet has ignored in the primary political campaign in Michigan. To the Muslim community, it is the source of major problems in America - security, jobs, education, healthcare, etc.; and the world peace. The Republican candidate who voted NO against War in Iraq, is against the Patriot Act ......

We should find Muslim newspapers all over the country

and place targeted ads in them.

where did you see that

please give more info... or link.

I see some exit polling

in mid Michigan area. The polls have not closed everything is so fluid. Here is the current numbers:
Romney 18.3
McCain 13.4
Paul 12.9
Huckabee 11.4

gigione

what happened to the other

40% - this adds up to ~ 55 %

"uncommitted"

because they can vote for any party & most of the dems boycotting the state, i believe voters can state that they are "uncommitted" on the ballot.

maybe that's where you'll find the remaining 40%.

Michigan!!!

Woo Hoo!!

My mouth may drop open and not close. Thanks...

More dems voting than reps could mean McCain blowout

The Dems really want McCain but the far left wanted Romney because they know he would be easy to beat later on, which is correct.

I doubt it but I hope the Dems really want Ron Paul and are coming out to really vote for him.

Two kinds of want

I guess everyone knows there are two kinds of want. Some want someone because they want him to be President and some want someone because they want him to be the one their preferred candidate runs against and can beat.
