Policing for Profit: Outrageous Civil Forfeiture Case Begins Next Week

This is going on everywhere. Someone in your community - your town, your church, your social group, is going through something RIGHT NOW. PLEASE STAND WITH THEM NOW. If we don't literally stand together, we will be mowed down like rabid dogs. We must stand together in smaller groups, entirely peacefully, by simply walking with these people on their day in court.

Find out where the police state is in your town and stand up for justice NOW.

The most contentious civil forfeiture fight in the nation will be the subject of a week-long trial starting Monday, November 5, 2012, in Boston. Throughout the week, the Institute for Justice, which represents the property owners in the case, will expose the ugly practice of civil forfeiture—where law enforcement agencies can pad their budgets by taking property from innocent owners who have never been convicted or even charged with a crime.

libertyx, thank you for this link

I have read these facts and am in the middle of reading the 16 page handbook. This was an eye opener for me. I was not aware of this constitutional power of a juror. The line you quoted from their main page really sums it up. I would also suggest reading this short version:

So many people are misinformed. I have been brainwashed into thinking you HAD to as a juror make your decision of innocence or guilt based on the law on each specific charge. Constitutionally this is WRONG. Bottom line is, if you think a law is unethical or just plain wrong you can and should vote NOT GUILTY. Awesome info!

Everyone should be aware of their jury power

May the message of jury justice become widely known!

I guess the police need new patrol cars and equipment!

If you live in this town show up at the courthouse on Nov. 5 demonstrate against the police and tyrants.

Gold standard: because man can not be trusted to control his greed

The institute

for justice is one of the best organizations out there. These people come in and defend hard working people when they have no where left to turn. Please give.

This all part and parcel of

This all part and parcel of the sick violation of human rights known as the War on Drugs. Law enforcement agencies long ago became accustomed to the easy money from drug busts and related forfeiture schemes that pay for all that fancy paramilitary crap they are loading up with to use against the citizenry. They now focus entirely on easy busts that gain them huge loot rather than protecting the victims of home invasions, rapes, burglary, etc. I say get rid of whatever statutes or what not that allow them to help themselves to other's loot. Next bring back the car-less cop that actually walks a beat and knows the people in the neighborhood. It would be a lot cheaper and a lot safer...even if the neighborhoods had to privately fund it.

I really hope this hotel owner prevails against the armed thugs robbing him.

Just before I moved to this tiny town they seized a property

over 2 pot plants. Took a farm - pretty much took food right out of this communities mouth so the Sheriff and bank could split the plunder.

An aside - the Idaho couple profiled as "Constitutionalists" - they can't get an attorney to help them. They were told straight up that the case was too expensive, and since they found a pipe and small amount of marijuana in the home, the case could not be won.
Got that? They had their home stormed by armed thugs, were roughed up (Bear is still unable to work) and it is all on video. But since Bear uses marijuana for PTSD (from injuries he got while he was a COP) - no justice for them.

Yeah, its pretty sick what is

Yeah, its pretty sick what is going on. Even though I believe in people's freedom to do whatever they want with themselves, its probably a good policy to refrain from doing or having any of the blacklisted substances so you give them no reason to stormtroop your house and/or take your property, your life, rough you up, or give you a criminal record. Not that that will stop them from their crimes, but its a shame to give them anything to build a case on. Its not worth the risk in this oppressive climate. We have to work on changing the system and these middle ages style laws and regulations, but that would be made all the more difficult if one is legally defending themselves and stripped of their wealth and property. I do feel like we are entering the next dark ages. I hope good prevails and the next Renaissance starts soon.

Please learn about this situation, Victoria.

A neighbor phoned in a bogus "domestic dispute" complaint and since the couple had prevailed in court over their Constitutional right to drive, the cops decided they were armed and dangerous "Constituti9onalists."
They arrive ostensibly to ensure Marcela's safety, then brutalize her and her husband and go on a warrant-less search.
You cannot "toe the line" close enough, you never know when some Zombie will "see something and say something" about you. The way to fight tyranny is to live free, not to cave in to their every petty demand.

Sadly Victoria

even that does not protect you from government thugs who have set their sites on you. There are numerous cases where "blacklisted" substances were planted where they were not found. We are quickly passing the point of no return in this country and fishy is right, we need to stand together with these people that are being victimized by these criminals. It's easy for them to pick off one person at a time, it is not so easy when there's a thousand people standing next to them.

Totally agree. As individuals

Totally agree. As individuals though lets not give them any easy reasons to pick us off. Yes, we must all continue to fight against the totalitarianism.

There is such evil in the world

When I read about how people in the government are capable of this type of force it makes me just sick.
