Gonna be funny a few days after the election to come here and see all the Ron Paul write-in

people from most states saying "THEY DIDN'T EVEN REPORT MY VOTE IN THE NEWSPAPER!"

They will say "I did what everybody said to do and wrote in Ron Paul's name - but its not even reported in the news! I can't believe I got slighted AGAIN! Why did I even bother?"

And those of us who vote for Gary Johnson (which WILL be reported) will say "I told you so. You sure made a big mark that people will notice and that says something to the world..... NOT!

WHEN DID YOU LAST READ A NEWSPAPER with write-in tallies and a listing was given of ALL the write-in-votes according to who was written in?

NEVER.

On very rare occassion write-ins are counted and announced for very small races like school board. In exceptional cases small elections are actually WON by write-in candidates.

But when was the last time that you saw write-is counted and announced as to whom they were for in a Presidential election?

NEVER.

And why is that? Because people write in Pat Paulson, Donald Duck, The Tooth Fairy - people write all sorts of crazy things. And to actually announce "We had 30 votes for Mickey Mouse." would only encourage such foolish write-ins in the future.

So they MIGHT announce "We had x number of write-ins", but they will never tell us who they were for.

So why does anybody think that Ron Paul write-ins will be counted and announced?

It has never happened before and its not going to happen now.

Maybe because the press and government have been so fair with us in the past? (OF COURSE I'm kidding.)

you lost the bet - now fetch me a bottled beverage!

Remember my whole state is the size of a regular state's county! And we are a full on DEM state. Obama is going to take Rhode Island by storm.

Here is the email I got from the Board of Elections when I asked for their official count in 2008 (of course I saved it.) And this is what was printed in the Newspapers. I just gave you the part about President, but the document lists ALL write ins (if over 5) for every office on the ballot in Rhode Island.

11/04/2008 General Election Write-In Votes

NOTE: RIGL 17-22-7(d) requires this document to list only those write-ins receiving 5 or more votes.

(pssst. I'm not Mr. McBurney. He's the guy that sent me the document in 2008)

So Mickey Mouse with 11 votes DID beat The Tooth Fairy and

Rasputin who each had zero, in Rhode Island.

Rhode Island is the exception and not the rule. But were these votes actually printed in the paper - or did you have to request them? If they were not printed my point still stands.

IF your point "stands" at

IF your point "stands" at all, it is probably chemicaly induced. There are many legally recognised places to post a notice.

oh no. They print them every election!

Rhode Island takes a type of perverse pride in the whole write-in phenomena! We really don't have much else to do over here...

To answer your question I requested this document because I wanted to target the communities that had the largest write in votes for Ron Paul. Honestly, its not a big deal here. They have always printed the results - of course it takes a couple of days...but they are always there in the paper!

And I'll be laughing at the Gary lovers...

when their votes get flipped to Obamney and their boy only gets 1%.

I don't play, I commission the league.

Paranoid much?

Delusional much?

If you can't trust the vote counters (and its legitimately arguable that you CAN'T trust Diebold machines), then voting at all is a waste of time.

And writing in Ron Paul is no LESS a waste of time.

My Ron Paul write-in in '08 was in the paper..

why wouldn't it be reported in '12?
