The Hypocrisy of Gary Johnson Supporters

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWaHGzU02k0

Pardon the bad audio quality, this new screen capture software I got isn't all that great. It skips a lot.
Funny thing about the Johnson supporters, they censor any mention of Johnson's name when associated with American drone strikes. I find that rather peculiar and very hypocritical. Anyone who thinks Johnson is "close" or "similar" to Ron Paul is delusional. The ugly truth is, a vote for Johnson is a vote for war. PERIOD.

WIKIPEDIA:

"Johnson is known for having a philosophy of limited government ... and non-interventionist, especially as in opposition to a large military and foreign wars. Johnson pledged to cut the military budget by 43 percent in his first budget as president.

Johnson opposed the Iraq War since its beginning, and called for the American presence in Iraq to end.

During his Libertarian Party campaign he stated that he does not believe Iran is a military threat and would use all his presidential power to prevent Israel from attacking Iran.
"

So your hysteria is unfounded. Especially now, since we know Ron Paul got only 150,000 write-in votes and is not going to run anymore. So whom do you offer to us as a political "leader" - Justin Amash? :) Yes, he might get 75,000 write-ins at best in 2016.

How is this post helpful?

How is this post helpful to the liberty movement? This subject matter is tired anyways.

How is it hurtful?

Looking back can provide new insights and fresh perspectives.

~wobbles but doesn't fall down~

Welcome to the year 2013.

Yeah I voted for Johnson because my voting place is 1 block from my home, Ron Paul wasn't on my ballot, and I would have voted for Vermin Supreme if he'd been on there but it would have been a tough choice since I am behind Gary Johnson 98% of the way - the other 2% being arbitrary bs like drones and stuff which no congressman, senator or president has any real control over if you've been paying any attention at all to the way the world really works since about 1943 or so...
1913...
1933...
whichever. clueless. antagonist. Greatest of love and best wishes.

Don't feed the pandas. Ever.

You didn't..

have any problems with Roger Stone? :\

Even if Ron Paul hired on Roger Stone I would take that as a signal to never vote for Ron again. Ever.

I voted Johnson to not vote

I voted Johnson to not vote Republican and actually have my vote counted. It had nothing to do with Ron Paul. If more of you had done so perhaps they would have gotten the 5% and gotten the federal campaign funds. And don't give me this crap about wasted money. That money is already there, it could have gone to a good cause.

An actual funded third party would do much to change this country. A 1 party state pretending to be a 2 party state is nothing but a dictatorship that changes leaders every few years. Oh, it's your turn guys... oh really? OK, let's go.....

Is there a point

To this continued anti-Johnson bashing I mean. The election is over, in case you haven't noticed, maybe you can do something a little more constructive, and truthful.

agreed

and i recall ron paul saying about johnson:

"I think he's wonderful, and doing a great job. People should give him a look"

jussayin'

but the OP wrote that before the election was over. It's mostly people complaining about the thread who keep bumping it.

A signature used to be here!

Its because the fool who originally posted this keeps sending

people to it from different threads, as if it is not a tainted and biased asessment, as if its some great honest piece of scholarly work.

Its not, so people (including me) keep challenging him on it.

I'm a single-issue voter. Johnson is anti-zombie.

Zombie preparedness is the cornerstone of all good prepping.

There is nothing strange about having a bar of soap in your right pocket, it's just what's happening.

I voted

I voted for Dr. Paul in 2008, writing him in, in Ohio. Yesterday, I voted for Gary Johnson. This wasn't because I didn't support Dr. Paul anymore... I absolutely did. However, he 'gave up' on the race when Romney officially took/stole the Republican nomination. To vote for Dr. Paul again in Ohio was to be completely useless, as it wouldn't have counted whatsoever. As badly as Johnson did yesterday, I was still one of those 100k or so people in Ohio who voted for him. I'm proud of that, because I voted for a candidate who represents my values, far more closely than either of the mainstream candidates. Truth be told, I disagree with Dr. Paul on two issues myself, those being a woman's right to choose and his one-time vote for the DOMA. He's by far the closest candidate to me who's run for President, and I happily supported him 2008 and during this cycle, but he (or his campaign) chose to end things in August. I moved on, I voted for the next closest candidate, still quite close to my principles, Gary Johnson. I respect him, although I don't agree with his more Hawkish stances than Dr. Pauls.

Lies

Johnson is anti drone. Everything I've read and seen, he is anti drone, anti war, anti NDAA and so on. I don't agree with him on many issues, and he is not anywhere close to Ron Paul, but to lie about him is not helpful. You don't need to make things up to say he is NO Ron Paul, you can bring up the FACTS, like he is for humanitarian missions using the military, he is pro Choice, and several others. I ended up writing in Ron Paul, but on this I have to come to Gary Johnson's defense.

compared to rand

gary is brilliant ...

Gary Johnson IS ANTI-DRONE.

Gary Johnson, former Governor of New Mexico, stated the following during the Oct. 23, 2012 "Third Party Presidential Debate," in Chicago, IL, hosted by the Free and Equal Elections Foundation, available at www.c-span.org:

"We have to stop with the drone strikes."
Oct. 23, 2012 Gary Johnson

Blah blah blah...

"Johnson said that while he wants to end the war in Afghanistan, that doesn’t mean he would necessarily stop drone attacks against terrorists in Pakistan or Yemen, even though he believes they create more enemies than they kill. “I would want leave all options on the table."

.
~wobbles but doesn't fall down~

Hmmm...

"Johnson said in an April 2012 Daily Caller interview that he favors withdrawing or reducing American forces in Europe and the East Asia, but not necessarily the Middle East. He also said he stood by comments to the Weekly Standard the he might support waging war for humanitarian reasons, saying he would not "sit idly by and watch something like the Holocaust go down." He also stated that while he thought drone attacks create more enemies than they kill, he would not necessarily stop the drone attacks against Pakistan or Yemen, leaving all options on the table."

I wouldn't

I wouldn't use Wikipedia as a good source. Anyone can go in and change things in wikipedia. Try posting another source, I would love to see that, if it is true.

A neat trick..

is to click on the numerical reference annotations scattered appropriately throughout wikipedia entries to locate the original source. It's easy and I am confident in your ability to master it with a bit of practice. I will do the first one for you:

"Johnson said that while he wants to end the war in Afghanistan, that doesn’t mean he would necessarily stop drone attacks against terrorists in Pakistan or Yemen, even though he believes they create more enemies than they kill. “I would want leave all options on the table,” Johnson said."

http://dailycaller.com/2012/04/09/thedcs-jamie-weinstein-gar...

Another skill you might want to master is not going into denial when hard cold facts are presented to you even though said facts conflict with your wishful thinking and/or political agendas. Try it. It's quite liberating and essential to building trust in those reading your commentary/propaganda/smokescreening.

November 6th 2012 I voted for Dr.Ron Paul
