A facebook conversation between myself and neoconservative friend

A facebook conversation between myself and neoconservative friend...

Me: Sometimes the only real choice is to refuse to choose.

Him: not this time....that's BS in this election. one man has failed across the board and another has executive and business experience. you sit on your hands and its partly your fault if NOBAMA is given 4 More Years! wake up man!

Me: If Obama wins, it's because of the GOP's actions in Florida. You just can't screw the most engaged portion of your party and expect it not to have consequences.

Him: i disagree. the tea party conservatives are most engaged in every "swing" state. the third partiers are going to either help or be part of the 4-year problem. you choose buddy.

Me: Who do think the Tea Party people are? Where do you think they came from? No doubt the movement has been co-opted by the neoconservative movement since their success in 2010 but at it's core, it is a liberty movement that stems from Ron Paul his followers. No Ron Paul = No Tea Party.

Him: bullsh*t

Me: Florida was a spectacle of big bad power grabbing government. It was party over the people. It put Romney and his party elites in a very bad light to those who were paying attention. This isn't just a Ron Paul thing. The former party chairman called the their actions ridiculous. It's a country club and they made it very obvious that some were not welcome. The party controllers took a calculated risk. They decided they didn't need Ron Paul or is supporters to win. Of course now its a whole different story.

Me: "The Tea Parties of 2010 remind me very much of the Conservative Revolution of 1994. And if the Tea Party Nation is not very careful, they will succumb to the same fate. The signs of a silent takeover of the movement are already appearing.

"First of all, the Tea Parties were actually born during the Presidential campaign of Congressman Ron Paul of Texas in 2007 and 2008. For all intents and purposes, the Tea Parties and the Ron Paul Revolution were one and the same. These were (mostly) young people, who were sick and tired of the same old establishment Republican Party. They were tired of establishment Republicans selling out the principles of limited government; they were tired of the US Constitution being ignored and trampled by both Republicans and Democrats; they were tired of an incessant interventionist US foreign policy that keeps sending US forces overseas to advance a burgeoning New World Order (NWO); they were tired of perpetual war; they were tired of the bank bailouts; they were tired of the Federal Reserve; etc.

"I know this because I met--and spoke before--the Tea Party Nation in State after State as I campaigned for Dr. Paul during the Republican primaries back in 2008. And I met them again all over America, as I was running as an Independent candidate for President--with Ron Paul's endorsement, no less. I was with them in scores of meetings (big and small) from Washington, D.C., to Spokane, Washington, and all points in between.

"But now many of the Tea Parties are distancing themselves from Dr. Paul and embracing establishment players such as Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck. Even Newt Gingrich is being courted. Watch out, Tea Party Nation: you're in danger of losing your soul! Newt Gingrich is not one of you.

http://www.newswithviews.com/baldwin/baldwin569.htm

Me: He was right. The Tea Party lost it's soul.

Him: again. baldhead can pound sand. one man's opinion. Paul can take credit for nothing. sit this one out dude...great plan. im gonna stop now before i boil over. later.

Me: "Perhaps the first "Tea Party" event on record was an event for Ron Paul dubbed "Boston TeaParty07" on December 16, 2007. This event included the throwing of boxes labeled "tea" and "IRS" among others, into the bay. This event was also notable in making online "Money Bomb" history as the largest one-day fundraising event at $6.5 million."

Me: Chuck Baldwin is a constitutional conservative much like Ron Paul. How is it that you are continually bashing men who are espousing the principles that you claim to favor? I mean anyone who despises the simple message of liberty from Ron Paul, and the core constitutional values of Baldwin has to stop and assess the situation. Are you even a conservative? You continually push these ideas that empower the state. You love war. You love TSA. You love PATRIOT Act, You take no issue with NDAA, You wont' even stand up against the FED, the root cause of all our economic turmoil. Sometimes I wonder about you man. Where is your head? You can't just pay lip service to liberty and then support every single effort of government to run rough-shot over the individual.

Government isn't on your team no matter which party is in power. The only government official that will do the average citizen any good is the one who takes it upon himself to dismantle from within the massive overpowering bureaucracy of the federal government. Government offers 1 single redeeming service and that is to protect liberty. We as a people would thrive if government just backed off, shriveled up and crawled back from wherever it came from.

This country won't be fixed by some man in Washington. It will be fixed when we start to realize that casting all our hope on some party or politician is what got us to this point. Ron Paul wasn't going to save the nation. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool. It's the realization in the minds and hearts of the people that we are the solution. We can fix this nation. We just need to get someone in the white house who believes in us as much as we do. We need someone who will cut regulations, spending, taxes, and unconstitutional agencies. Return the federal government back to what it was intended to be. Not so that America will recede in the world, but so that America can once again prosper and be that light of freedom to show the rest of the world that prosperity does not come from the benevolence of the state, but that freedom, individual liberty, and private property can raise living standards and provide for the needs of people like no other system the world has ever known.

A man came along who had this same hope for America and the media laughed at him. The supposed conservatives labeled him as dangerous. All efforts were taken to marginalize his movement. The state was embraced by both left and right in opposition to a voice of freedom. People are so blinded. They don't understand what was at stake. If we didn't fight for our liberty, it wouldn't be long before we were going to be faced with a choice that was intended to be no choice at all. The election cycle would be reduced to discussions about who hates dogs and who would give more to this group or that. We didn't have much time to convince people that the only real second choice was a little old man from Texas.

The Republicans battered his supporters from state to state, breaking bones and cheating, the media complicit through it all. Even up to the National convention where the rules changes were enacted so that men like Ron Paul would not be able to have such bearing on the predetermined chosen candidates of the future. Those who opposed the new rules were drove around in busses for hours so the paperwork could not be delivered on time. The rules changes and the decision to dismiss all of Maine's delegates (supporters of Paul and elected by the people) were voted on where we saw plainly that the results were read from a teleprompter. Voices called repeatedly for a point of order only to be denied as the party big whigs railroaded the entire proceedings.

This is the way we choose who leads our country? Men in dark rooms scheme to gain control and thwart the system. Even when exposed to the light of day only a few take issue with the clear undermining of the American voting process. Others even more ignorantly cheer on the rulers, under some illusions that they are on the same team.

Ron Paul supporters submitted the required papers to nominate him from the floor of the convention. The papers were delivered on time. WE have the video evidence. THE BLEW HIM OFF. THE BROKE THEIR OWN RULES. THEY STOLE THE CHOICE FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. Romney was complicit in this. The papers for Ron Paul's nomination ended in Ginsberg's (Romney's campaign lawyer) hands. After that...no one knows. Priebus says that the paperwork wasn't submitted in a timely manor. You talk about BS. They way that entire convention was stages is the real BS.

I know there is no real choice on November 6. I'm not under the spell that you and so many others seem to be. The election process is a joke. Your a joke for believing the candidate THEY gave you is going to make any real and necessary changes to our national government before were destroyed from debt war and taxes.

The way I see it we all had a shot. It's gone now.

I was called an anarchist

I posted a link on facebook about Romney benefiting from the bail outs.
http://jhaines6.wordpress.com/2012/11/01/uaw-charges-romney-...

This is the conversation that followed
my friend: Are you one of those wall street protesters that was camped out in Central Park?

me: No ...what were they camped out for
(I had no idea what she was talking about because I had posted a Romney bailout link..so I thought maybe people were protesting that)

My Friend: Occupy Wall Street. Anarchists. At first I was sympathetic to them, a few of them I DID sympathize with, but then it became plain to see they were just a bunch of losers looking for attention, but they seemed like they wanted anarchy in the streets. Even though Bloomberg is an asshole, I was with the law n order on this one.

Me: Oh...so I seem like one of the losers that were looking for attention and want anarchy in the streets???? Just because I want something better than lying thief murderer A or lying thief murderer B...ok thanks

My friend: No, not saying you are a loser. Saying most of those people turned out to be. Just wondered if you are an anarchist. Like the Occupy Wall Street people are. You seem like an anarchist. You don't seem to like anybody who runs for president, which is your right, but you also strike me as someone who hates police officers and any form of authority or law. But that could be my mistake. Maybe I'm misreading you.

Me: I was just giving u a hard time..using your own words against you...no I'm not an anarchist..more of a constitutionalist...which includes..representative republic small limited government, states rights, live and let live unless it infringes on my rights..I want a non corrupt government who represents the people..not the lobbyists or the corporations...about the police...I want a non corrupt police force..one that doesn't taze 90 year old grandmas in wheelchairs or 5 year old kindergardeners..one that arrests people for crimes..not harrasses innocent people.. as far as authority... my authority is God I can't stand an immoral corrupt hypocritical self righteous person "leading" anyone!!! Like a republican saying they are prolife when they have no problem killing over 1 million innocent women and children..or a democrat who thinks theft is all right as long as they call it taxes...hope this explains...

My Friend: What republican killed over a million innocent women n children? And I believe as well, that the US Constitution should be the law of the land, not bypassed. Non corruption, no lobbyists, and as for the police force, one bad apple don't make them all bad. But the Republican part has me curious.

The impotent California Republican Party vote

California Registered voters (9/7/12) SOS

Democrat = 43.3%

Republican = 30.1%

How many ways can we paint the same picture? IN CALIFORNIA a vote FOR Romney is a vote FOR Obama

WE know we can’t win the Presidency; DO YOU REALLY THINK YOU CAN’T LOSE?

If Romney loses the election by LESS than 55 electoral votes, look to the CALIFORNIA REPUBLICANS. They were offered an alternative and wimped out…

I totally shared this with

I totally shared this with him. I also posted it on my blog. This is brilliant.

BRILLIANT!!

Thanks

for your kind words.

Here's a real kick in the butt for ALL VOTERS in California, even Democrats, to stand together and Write-in Ron Paul.

Not ALL Democrats are pleased with Obama. Now they can remedy the situation.

I stood before the man and felt his breath on my face. In his eyes I saw …. A warrior.

I encounter this quite often...

and I have come to realize that many people just aren't "save-able". My take on your FB exchange is that you're trying to sell him something he just doesn't want. Even though your writings are quite good and quite logical, your "friend" has succumbed to the indoctrination process. Is he by-chance a frequent church-goer? Of those that I speak with, the most liberty-resistant and closed-minded zombies are "church people".
Instead of getting all worked up about trying to convince them they're on the wrong side of history, I just let them go on in thier willful ignorance. Spend your time wisely by talking with people who can think.

Yes, we attended the same

Yes, we attended the same church groing up, the church that my father now pastors. Many other churchgoers i know watch from a distance on facebook tell me in person that they read all my posts and tell me to keep it up. They don't comment cause they say they don't know what to say or fear they'll sound stupid. There is no one who knows me who doesn't know my political positions. Most shy away from any arguments. I invite debate cause I know liberty stands on strong moral and logical ground. Some see it. Some don't.

No offense, but

your "friend" is a real a**hole, in addition to being an ignorant political meat head.

What would the Founders do?

Ive called it FAN MENTALITY.

Ive called it FAN MENTALITY.

One mistake made by these

One mistake made by these dopes who think that voting for the lesser of two evils is some kind of new, clever strategy, is their assumption that we think Romney is the lesser of two evils. I know I certainly never said that.

here is his response...

so f**king give up. don't call me a joke because i don't worship Ron Paul. smarten up pal.

He is so wrong that he deserves to be right...

so...I will happily cast my vote for Obama...just to negate his vote and allow him four years of being "right".

Wha? .....hey....who stole my country?

ConstitutionHugger's picture

well done

How can that not make him think? People are so worried about Obama that they put their trust in Romney. Maybe they are too scared to admit to themselves that their own team is a lie. Once they admit that there's no where to go but down the rabbit hole.

You got caught fire from here on:

"How is it that you are continually bashing men who are espousing the principles that you claim to favor?"

... everything from there after was pure gold.

After he bailed on the conversation.

That was the point where his other "buddy" Cogntive Dissonance grabbed him by the balls and squeezed until his logic center imploded and drool started runnin' outta the corner of his mouth.

When someone can't defeat your argument

And they're too stubborn to come your way, the natural reaction is to shout or end the conversation. Since it was online, the only option was the latter.

I call these people "lost causes."

That's not to say stop trying, but just don't expect them to ever agree with you.

you lost me at 'facebook'

.

Ha!

Ha!

I like these posts

Keep them coming.... I lose sight of my arguments, sometimes because I'm heated or I'm drunk. These posts help me rebuttal some of my intense debates.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

If Romney happens to win, send this guy every socialist thing

Romney does. Find out his biggest gripes about Obama and then watch as he no longer has any issue with the exact same crap. The real trick to understanding why things are how they are is understanding what dumbing down truly means and further understanding that none of us were skipped. Only then can you begin to deprogram and gain control of your mind. In other words, he's an idiot like the rest of us, he just hasn't realized it yet.

Well said. Here's hoping you

Well said. Here's hoping you planted a liberty seed in your friend's mind.

Thanks for sharing.

You kept a level head and pointed out the facts.

The other day I told a local romney organizer:

I am sorry to be so blunt, but you are a complete and utter novice, and dangerous to our Republic.

I meant every word, but I should have been more tactful. I haven't heard from him since.
