Vote however you want to vote

I've been reading a lot of things about how people will vote, why people should vote a certain way, how voting one way or another can send a message, etc.

It is very simple. Vote however you want to vote. Think about your vote, come to a decision you can live with and not regret, and vote that way. In the end you must do what you feel is right. Give it some thought and do it.

Give everyone else the respect they deserve while they do the same.

As for myself, I will write in Ron Paul because if I do anything else I will regret it. I don't care of it is counted or not. That is the decision I made for myself. I can understand if others do the same or do something different.

Just as I would not tell people what to do with their bodies or property, I am not about to judge someone on how they cast a vote, if that vote is made known to me.

As long as it was a vote they gave thought to, and can live with later, that is their choice and their business.

Could not agree more......

Could not agree more...... because they will count your vote toward whom ever they want anyway.... Rigged machines!

If voting would really make a difference it would be illegal!

Ron Paul 2012

I will vote for Texas Congressman Ron Paul , or I vote for NO ONE! All of us have been down that same old road in voting for what is offered to us instead of voting for who we the people truely perfer . I will No Longer play this pitiful game of voting for a ' lesser of 2 evils ' because people are realizing and waking up to the fact now that this country is ' ruled ' by a One Party Political System that goes by 2 names , republican and democrat . People in this country say that ' Corporations ' are controlling the system , but if you look at the fact that both the RNC and the DNC are ' Private ' organisations , or corporations , then it becomes clear that these political organisations/corporations don't care who their members would choose as their candidate , as in the RNC's treatment of both Texas Congressman Ron Paul and his supporters . So I therefore say ' Up Yours ' to both the RNC and the DNC as many others should do because these private organisations are only as powerful as the millions of members they currently have....

I totally agree...

Vote how you want. I like having all the facts when it comes to each of the candidates. If you can shed any light on this I would appreciate it. http://www.dailypaul.com/261364/i-need-your-help-finding-out...

We need to get an early start on 2016: Support Rand PAC 2016

Ron Paul

is the bedrock. He is principled and disciplined. That doesn't mean we have to be. It is time for all the "only ron paul crowd" to vote for GJ. This is about a political revolution, not your own personal satisfaction. Unless your state has a count that will be broadcasted, vote for GJ. You are wasting your vote for Ron Paul if there is no write in campaign.

All I Can Say to That Is

I agree

Vote how ever you want.

I did.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

GJ 5% could end 2 party system

while i respect any voting choice please note that if Gary Johnson gets 5% of votes nationally that it qualifies the Libertarian Party to receive national funding and so forth. This could be ground breaking and also possibly make way for an exciting RP Libertarian 2016 Presidential run! The possibilities are limitless, God Bless America!

The Uglier Truth about the Libertarian Party....

Media smear after media smear, Libertarians have been painted as a bunch of irrelevant, pacifist, pot-smoking hippies that are only interested in legalizing drugs, it took Ron Paul switching parties and a history of predictions that came true before some Republicans finally started listening to the Libertarian message.

The sad results is these same Republicans don't view Libertarians as allies, rather, a lesser class that is trying to ride the coat tail popularity of their own message. Some Republicans have discovered true liberty and now own the patent. Libertarians that have been preaching that message for decades are now a distraction and are being treated by Liberty Republicans with the same detesting smugness that the GOP treated them.

Unfortunately, they demand perfection and willing to sacrifice any step toward liberty unless their demands are met without compromise.

R.I.P. Liberty.

This is EXACTLY what the 2-Party Monster LOVES.

Divide and conquer.

That's it - Keep bashing the Libertarians and keeping them out of the republican party and you will keep on losing.

Just like you're going to do in 3 days.

The liberals must be jumping for joy about now.

I am referring to the post called "The ugly truth about the Libertarian Party" below.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

He doesn't speak against the libertarians

He speaks against the Libertarian Party.

How about getting 5% of the write-in.

Ron Paul stated at Texas Convention: "Why get behind something if it is for the wrong reason."

We MUST show COHESION that we will not disperse just because they stole the election.

WRITE-IN RON PAUL 2012 for 6+%

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

I will respect

I will respect all those who write-in Ron Paul.

For this movement to continue, we MUST show that we have COHESION, that we will NOT disperse just because they stole the election from us. There is 2016. We MUST show that our numbers have grown and will continue to grow.

THAT ^ is what I will repsect.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

The bottom line, given all we know and understand

Don't Vote 4 Them Vote 4 U

What's striking about this video, to us DPers, is the difference between Rep. Paul and Sen. Paul.

Fear factor playing any part here, with you?

"If you want something you've never had before, you have to do something you've never done before." Debra Medina

I voted for Gary Johnson because write-ins for RP don't count

in FL. I refuse to support the single party two headed beast any longer. So I voted against them.

"A vote for the lesser of two evils is a vote to keep things the same", Buckminster Fuller..
A choice for liberty is always a choice for liberty.

Me too...

For the same reason...

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

Well said and well done!

Living with our own decisions is what it is all about. We cannot live our lives according to other peoples expectations and truly consider ourselves free.

Good post and thread. Thanks!

Flannel & Fluff & Stuff

Sorry - I just can't get excited over who should get the votes. This is because I am certain that it's the votes of the Diebold machines - not the people - that will do the counting.

All the rest is flannel and fluff and stuff to make us believe the lie about living in a free and fair "democratic" society.

votes will not count if you

votes will not count if you deface a ballot and writing in un-certified write-ins in most states is defacing your ballot and cancelling all your votes locally to state and pres. yeah

Ron Paul 2016

Only if that vote is to defeat the GOP.

Yup. I'm still pissed.
I want Romney to lose, and I want it to be because of Ron Paul support NOT supporting the establishment candidate.

So vote for whoever you want, as long as it isn't Romney.

Totally agree

Cast your vote wisely, and make sure you're happy with it and your ethics.

"Many of us agree that you and I have no right to use coercion against people who don't owe us anything. The same prohibition applies to groups of people who constitute the government. The reason is simple: unjust acts do not become just when legalized. "

I was thrilled to mail in my write in vote for Dr. Paul.

It will be counted here in Maine.

And the beat will go on...count on it.

Did you see this.

Check out the vote totals in 2008.
Maine has Ron with 0 in 2008.
The results are very discouraging and show possible vote pulling and other errors.
Ron getting 1 vote in Illinois for example.
A few states have Ron getting beat by Santa.

Depending on your metric, either no vote need ever be considered wasted, or most of them are.

If you derive emotional satisfaction out of it, then you go!

If you expect your vote to influence the outcome then it is likely wasted effort. Unless you live in Ohio (probably) then your vote for President is meaningless. And IF you live in Ohio, then the chances are still millions to one against you that it comes down to YOUR VOTE. You have a far better chance of helping a "third party" secure future ballot access than you have of installing or evicting an occupant of the Oval Office.

I did just that. I already voted absentee. I didn't tell anyone who I was going to vote for before I casted my vote and I didn't tell anyone afterwards who I voted for after I casted my vote.

I agree. That's swell. Really good.

It's THEIR business and they should be respected for it! It's good that our Constitutional Republic's dissolving. Real good. It's good that we've done this. It's good that voters VOLUNTARILY VOTE FOR TYRANNY, while cursing tyranny (largely because they are CLOSET-GOVERNMENT-DEPENDENTS themselves). It's good that they vote to SHRED OUR NATION'S LAW, while claiming to preserve it. That's swell. The BEST! "Conservative!" It's good that they do this. Tomorrow's gonna be a good day... a really good day.

The r3VOLution is NOT republiCAN.

It's plusgood. Doubleplusgood in fact.

While many of us are still locked in Room 101, we can nevetheless envy you your love for Big Brother.

Ditto. Exactly! And just being courteous and gentle to

others, even yet-to-be-converted neocon brothers & sisters, is the key to PEACE within & around us :-)

(Was it Agatha Christie, who said just being a nice gentle person is greatly undervalued now a days?)

Exactly, vote how you want.

Exactly, vote how you want. But keep in mind the current economic state

My calculus on this

I've been mulling this topic for a bit recently, especially with the oft posted Lew Rockwell.com arguments on why NOT to vote.

I agree that everyone should do what they want, but I think it is important to realize that picking a candidate or not voting or whatever isn't some massive intellectual or moral achievement, fulfillment of some sacred duty, or really effectual or a big deal at all.

That where I finally landed, anyways.
