Hey America! One of our very own DP contributors, Tisha Casida, has been named in the top five political superstars to watch this election. Congress belongs to all of us and it would be so important to get her elected to represent the Freedom Movement! Will you join me in donating one last time to help her fill her gas tank? www.casida2012.com/donate and please share this with your friends and family to contribute to her campaign as well, and for those in Colorado to GET OUT THE VOTE!
4. Tisha Casida, Independent Colorado candidate for U.S. Representative
The most incredible example of America’s growing liberty movement and testimony to the power of new ideas is Tisha Casida, candidate for Colorado’s third congressional district. Without the covering of a major political party and equipped with only her passion for Constitutional government and common sense solutions, the young 30-year old businesswoman turned candidate skyrocketed to national attention after appearing on Andrew Napolitano’s Freedom Watch and became a rallying icon for an entire nation of disaffected voters. In a recent OpEd published in Steamboat Today, Casida writes “My experiences have taught me that it is pertinent that we create sound money, get our fiscal house in order, protect the civil liberties and natural rights of Coloradans and work together to find solutions – not just use the outdated two-party rhetoric that does nothing to help us.”
In spite of the challenges of running unaffiliated, Casida’s incredible grassroots efforts and wide appeal has set a powerful example for the liberty movement to emulate.
"And the most recent numbers of registered voters in Colorado (Independent: 90,256 (I)/Democrat: 98,924 (D)/Republican: 126,141(R)) shows that the 3rd congressional seat is anyone’s to win. “If it’s about winning Independents and some Republicans and some Democrats, then we have a good shot at winning in November - the math and the voter sentiment is in our favor,” said Casida. “Look at the Democratic primary in West Virginia, where an inmate - in prison as we speak - got about fifteen points less than the sitting President – whoever says that we can’t win as an Independent is ignoring the facts – people are fed up with the corruption in Washington, D.C.”.
