WhoWhatWhy: The Post-Election ProjectSubmitted by kevink on Sat, 11/03/2012 - 11:27
For everyone who is unhappy w/ our incredibly biased media, please take a minute to read this post.
Let me preface this by saying that if we here on the DP are truly serious about fixing this country, we first need to understand how it *really* works. Fortunately for us, there are people out there like author/investigative journalist Russ Baker, whose book "Family Of Secrets" covers "The Bush Dynasty, America's Invisible Government, and the Hidden History of the Last Fifty Years" in fine-grained (and heavily-documented!) detail.
Mr Baker started a website called WhoWhatWhy.com and is now doing a kickstarter fundraiser to try to raise funds for what he calls the "Post-Election Project", a project to "chronicle the behind-the-scenes wheeling and dealing that makes a mockery of democracy".
Russ Baker is an author/journalist, not a politician. And maybe the idea of contributing money to someone who isn't vying for a position of power (where they could effect change) doesn't seem like the most effective use of your funds. But how many of us are grateful to Dr. Paul for "waking us up"? If you're amongst that group then I'm sure you can appreciate the importance of unbiased reporting that covers the truly important topics affecting our country today. Please read below and consider donating. Thank you.
WhoWhatWhy: The Post-Election Project.
WIth your help, right after the election and continuing through November, 2013, we will mount our Post-Election Project.
We’ll chronicle the behind-the-scenes wheeling and dealing that makes a mockery of democracy. We’ll skip the press conferences and the polls and go after the red meat.
With your help,
We'll produce informative and surprising weekly Post-Election articles
We'll produce bi-weekly Post-Election audiocasts with WhoWhatWhy Editor-in-Chief, Russ Baker
We'll produce compelling monthly Post-Election videos on location
We'll create a separate, dedicated Post-Election channel on the site so you can find our Post-Election Project stories easily
We'll review promises made and investigate promises kept
We'll show you how you can get involved and be heard
We’ll focus on the big stories that get ignored: Who’s behind the wars that have become a regular feature of American policy for Republican and Democratic administrations alike? What’s happening on a daily basis to really address the heating of the earth? Why do a small number of very wealthy people keep on getting their way even when the public opposes their advantages?
Anyone visiting our site, WhoWhatWhy.com, knows that we’re different— conscientious, curious, determined to get to the bottom of things. With your support, we’ll be the public’s watchdog when the officials get hired, the policies set, our tax dollars spent, and our young people sent off to foreign wars.
