I ended up not votingSubmitted by V1G1L4NT on Sat, 11/03/2012 - 18:07
Edit: This thread was originally why I was trying to sway people to vote for Romney because it was realistically between him and Obama. I despise both men but my point was that Romney would bring a slower destruction to the US which would give us more time AFTER Romney to fix our problems. Instead people decided to vote in the greater of 2 evils again...
It took me a long time to come to this conclusion especially after the drama at the convention where Romney and the GOP cheated their pants off. I am a supporter of Ron Paul 100% and pray he runs for President again and challenges Mitt in 2016 if he wins. My only fear is that if Obama wins there will be no elections in 2016.
So what led me to being willing to vote for Romney?
Write-in Ron Paul - my reasoning against this is the obviously fact that they simply will not count these votes. You saw how hard they fought against him and cheated in Tampa. Writing-in for Ron Paul is a great thought, but fruitless.
Johnson and other 3rd party - while I was tempted toward this at first I realize that Ron Paul has tried this (even back when politics were somewhat less corrupt) and it didn't work. A lot of political change needs to occur still for 3rd parties to be viable to most Americans. Thankfully this is starting to happen. Right now, there just simply are not yet enough people awake and realizing we are losing our freedoms for them to win. Though it would be amazing if it happened.
Mitt Romney - while I do not listen to the complete BS from FOX or CNN, etc. I do think our country and our freedoms may last a little while longer with him as President. I know that nothing will be improved with him in office my only hope in voting for him and that he wins is that the country will stay on life support instead of drifting off into complete annihilation. I know he is not good for the economy, ultimately, but business men (that listen to FOX) will start hiring again if he's President.
So why not Obama? I hope this is obvious. He is a complete socialist if not a communist at heart. He is the antithesis to freedom and liberty. Were he able ( and he nearly is) he would rip the constitution and your freedoms to pieces without any small regret. He and those who own him care only for power.
Vote how you wish. I am sorrowful that it comes to the lesser of 2 evils once more. I will look forward to 4 years from now where I will hopefully be able to cast my vote for Dr. Paul.
Edit: I ended up having to stay home and care for my disabled wife on election day. I actually made up my mind that I would not vote for Mitt Romney and instead write in Ron Paul out of principle. Just wanted to mention this in case someone reads this in the future.
