Do the Amish have it right?

Have to say, their fanatical self-reliance and refusal to engage in the industrial revolution are looking more and more far-sighted. Particularly considering that the decline in oil supply is predicted to cause the end of our industrial society (watch 'A Crude Awakening').

Here's my question though, if anybody knows, if they do not allow any influences from 'the world' to come into their society, how are the AMISH coping with increasing federal encroachment? And what are they going to do when FEMA or other agencies come a-knocking?

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

Lol. The fact that he's called Sam 'Mullet' is so perfect

Is that the hair-do he gives to his victims? If so they have cause for concern!

Obedience to God is resistance to tyrants.

Here Is A Guess .

The Amish are recognized as a "Religious" organization by the U.S. government. Religious organizations get a tax free status, from many years ago. Therefor it may be possible that they live on Amish land that is tax free. It's possible that they don't use federal reserve notes in large numbers, since they are self sufficient in living conditions. They may not use Gas or electricity.

Why would FEMA bother them?

And then you have the

Breaking Amish reality show on TLC and ask yourself...are they really separate?

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.

Turn the other cheek

When the feds come a knocking there will be little resistance from the Amish. The thing to understand is that their self reliance is reliance on their God. This world holds no pleasure or pain for them, save for what God sends them.
True followers of this faith are the pinnacle of peaceful resistance.

I have tons of respect and admiration for them, and some are my kin. I do believe their simpler existence should be an example to us all. Only without the self sacrifice that their dogma requires.

If some predictions are correct,

The Amish having held on to the pre-industrial age way to live and survive, may help us all when the SHTF.

The federal government don't like them selling raw milk.

Somehow they were able to get exemptions...

from a number of state and federal laws. For example, they are exempt from Social Security and are also able to get away with only educating their children to grade 8.

Drain the swamp!

Somehow? It's called freedom of Religion

Which is why even if you aren't religious you should protect your own freedom of religion. It seems to be the hardest thing for the government to encroach upon. It's the one defense in court that still wins when facing the government.

I don't know about the Amish,

I don't know about the Amish, but the Amash certainly does have it right.
