Spoons & Shovels

Screw shovel ready, let's make spoon ready jobs to employ more people!

It Comes From The Panama Canal

He mentioned on Stossel that they were using shovels to dig the Panama Canal. Someone asked why not use bulldozers, and the answer came back that they were using shovels so as to create more jobs. The reply: "In that case, why not spoons?"

Spoon-ready jobs. Awesome.

Spoon-ready jobs.

He gave up a spoon. He gonna

He gave up a spoon. He gonna do more!

GJ 2012

wow Johnson just kicked it into high gear!

Man Gary Johnson's not

Man Gary Johnson's not looking so good... seems kinda drunk?

to be honest

and i know this won't be popular on Dailypaul. Johnson's worst night is a heck of a lot better than ron paul's best night. That was unfortunately ron paul's achilles heel, debating.

Jury Nullification is a power of the last resort against tyranny.

No way

No Way... I'm not saying this because we're on the DP, Gary has very little charisma and raises his voice for no reason. He comes across as a bit vulgar also ("Baloney!", keeps interrupting in this debate) where Ron Paul was decisive but cordial in his rebuttals and of course, GJ not very efficient at explaining the philosophy of libertarianism.

Also, Ron had 5 minutes in a 2 hour debate to try to cram in points, GJ in this debate has time to make his points and is not doing a good job IMO.

Do you really think Ron Paul wouldn't have torn stein a new one when they were talking about the 2008 crisis and the Federal Reserve? Puleease

Many people became supporters after seeing him debate

It was Ron's debate performances that first alerted me to him.

You could tell their was a fire inside him, he was telling the cold hard truth, and he didn't care how others would view him, he was doing what he knew was right.

I don't see the same thing in Gary Johnson, and if I were a non-libertarian watching the debate, I do not believe Gary would convince me of anything.

if you really think ron paul is a better debater than johnson then it makes no sense to continue this discussion.

This is a good point. If Ron

This is a good point. If Ron Paul was given a decent amount of time to make points, I think he'd do a great job. That being said, many of my family members still failed to understand anything he was talking about. Maybe it wouldn't have been any different with someone else in his place though.

I always thought ron did

I always thought ron did better than a lot of candidates. He seemed to explain the actual issue without losing focus. Something jill is having a very hard time doing. Gary is a little too over the top.

If ignorance is bliss, Washington DC must be heaven.

I'll agree with that to an

I'll agree with that to an extent. Paul resonated with his core group really well. He just didn't explain things in a way that Joe Republican would agree with or be able to fully appreciate.

and here gary johnson is talking to the "world" not just his core group.

what did he say

about the federal reserve

ytc's picture

Jill Stein is great on Civil Liberties. . .

Gary Johnson on Police State, Drug War, NDAA, Patriot Act. . .

LISTEN to them, Obm/Romney!

Jill Stein is full of hot air. She talks too much!

Gary needs to explain better

Gary needs to explain better how the free market could provide water, gas, etc in disaster areas if regulations are revoked. I think many people are ignorant of what a magnificent system the free market can be.

When Sandy struck, entrepreneurs could have tuned into media outlets who provide information about what services and products are desperately needed. The govt could have helped facilitate trade by getting the roads open. The water trucks and gas trucks come in, charging a premium, and people pay the premium. Disaster victims benefit, entrepreneurs benefit, media benefits, advertisers on the media benefit. All those parties also provide their end of the trade, and I don't have to pay any of it from 2,000 miles away other than the govt spending a minimal amount to get the roads open, which they might find a way to partially pay for by a temporary tax or use fee from any one or more of the above interested parties.

Well said.

Well said.

We are now entering

SNL in bizzarro world!

I'm gonna start doing shots

... every time Jill mentions "Green New Deal." I don't think I'll make it to the end of the debate.

if i could breathe as fast as she said "uh" in that last one

i'd pass out in about 45 seconds.

Be brave, be brave, the Myan pilot needs no aeroplane.

I'm about to throw up..

STFU with this BS

C'mon Gary!

Gary Johnson believes in man made climate change?

Jill Stein believes in Fossil Fuel politics?

They are both wrong. Climate change in natural and oil is abiotic and replenishes itself.

I was almost considering voting for Gary but now I'm pretty sure I'll be writing in Ron Paul.
