Why it is strategically correct to cast a write-in vote for Ron Paul

The temptation to cast a vote in protest for Gary Johnson or other liberty candidates is understandable.. People felt a sense of abandonment with the RP campaign as well as a degree of betrayal. Not from Dr. Paul but, rather, from the system surrounding him.

In that sense of betrayal, or even defeat, people do react. It could even be the “Go to #$%@” reaction.

There is also the issue of attempting to cast a strategic vote: the so-called ABBO vote.

All of these strategies are of no consequence. That is because the winner of the Presidential election is pre-determined. It is merely a coronation. In this case the regime seemingly favors Obama, so, surely, he will be the recipient of that coronation.

After all, Romney will SAY anything the TPTB demand, but Obama has DONE everything they have ordained. Only a monstrous landslide (difficult to rig) in favor of Romney could possibly reverse the tide, and the few votes that RP'ers might cast could not make that difference. Regardless, the machines are apparently dumping Romney votes into Obama. Apparently, the die has been cast.

The Write-In vote is an entirely different strategy. It is not a means to win a specific 2012 election. Rather, it is a protest against the entire system based upon computerized, rigged elections. It is the means to take the power back into the people's hands. This is through advancing our inalienable, first amendment rights of casting a protest vote, while documenting it through our own testimony.

The goal is simple: to eliminate all election rigging by seeking the purging and destruction of electronic voting machines, the kinds which are used to systematically rig Presidential elections and much more.

Ireland put its machines into the crushers. We CAN do the same.

That write-in vote is far more powerful than many people realize. Plus, it is the initiation of a new trend: to put the power back in the peoples’ hands, so they can achieve their own destiny, so they are no longer under the control of hostile forces, which seek nothing but their harm.

Write-In votes are the beginning of that powerful wave of authority: the people’s authority versus the ‘authority’ of the autocratic few. These votes send a powerful message that in due time the existing system, the one used to cheat the people, will be eliminated. It is a message to either join the wave of the people's indignation or suffer defeat—the defeat of upholding and maintaining tyranny against the rights and norms of the people.

Let the world see our numbers, which are massive. Of all strategies, not voting, voting against Obama, voting against Romney, voting libertarian, only the write-in methodology shows the real scope of our power. Only this proves our numbers. All the other options merely dilute those numbers, allowing our detractors to divide us further and further.

ABBO is meaningless. A 3% rig, as was done in 2000 against Gore and, furthermore, in 2004 against Kerry is all that is needed to achieve the opposite of that ‘strategy.’ So, don’t waste your vote within the rigged system. Vote backed by affidavit. Join WriteInRevolution.com.

UPDATE: Whether Dr. Paul supports or does not support this is also irrelevant. The good doctor has all along said that this is our revolution and that the destiny is in our hands. Even so, he did say that this, specifically, WriteInRevolution.com, is a "worthwhile and welcomed" effort. He knows all about the cheating, and so does Mrs. Paul.

Remember, it was Dr. Paul himself who said, when he was approached by delegates on the floor at Tampa about being successfully nominated to the convention that, "They won't let you do that."

Regarding the so-called 5% of the vote, ultimately gaining a major status for the Libertarian Party, is this really a reason for voting? Can anyone confirm that the 5% would achieve the desired results, as claimed by the Johnson campaign? Each state has different laws about the percentage of votes necessary for major party status, for instance, in Colorado the vote count must exceed 10%. Can anyone confirm this strategy as real? No one voted for Ron Paul without carefully scrutinizing his positions, and again and again, his words, statements, and actions EARNED our votes. This claim by Johnson must be proven before it is used as motivation for voters.

I agree, writing in Ron Paul is probably our best option...

...but I may write in Virgil Goode of the Constitution Party instead.

There was too much betrayal in this last campaign for the candidate to be exonerated from all of it.

"Truth is an absolute defense to the charge of paranoia."

We should've done "Vote 3rd

We should've done "Vote 3rd Party" or something similar, at least when it was clear that no particular candidate was going to unify. Any type of "Obama and Romney are both unacceptable, here are your other choices" message.

should add that I'm pretty

should add that I'm pretty disappointed that we haven't made a dent at all on this Presidential General election. We really couldn't moved some people with a concerted, organized effort. We talk about how "we" and not the "official campaign" were the actual accomplishers. This was our opportunity to test that theory, and we're just failing. This is not to say that people are enthusiastic about the major party candidates, they just aren't enthusiastic that much about the other choices. If the various dislikers of Obama and Romney banded together,

people could spread that message. it's a simple one.

Too bad this site has been "OCCUPIED" lateley

it should have been the springboard for a nationwide write-in campaign for those who voted for him in the primaries to write in Ron Paul in the general election.

I know in most states his name wouldn't have been listed but the number of write-in votes would have conveyed: "NONE OF THE ABOVE" due to: guess who?

Where else to go on the internet but here to have that movement go forward?

Instead, it has been drowned out here.

It wasn't happening.

It wasn't happening. Actually, the smarter move would've been to get excited about Gary Johnson. That isn't happening either. Either way is fine. I would've preferred that we got all excited about a candidate on the ballot, candidates on the ballot are easier to sell. We didn't. There has not been a day where someone somewhere wasn't arguing Paul v Johnson. Now, where it isn't clear which protest vote will send the message, well, I'm voting for the one I like the most. In my state they count write ins.

it's not the occupiers' fault, it's the site mods and mngt

The site mods and mngt stop conversations on many topics...they delete posts, kick people, remove offensive pics. They really stop divisive posting, yet they let the Gary goons muck up the entire site at a critical point in our movement.

This site is simply following a different agenda than it was before the subscription strategy was employed.

A bit of a cart before the horse fallacy

In many ways, the DP actually was a springboard for a write-in campaign. The problem is we did not have a campaign to support. If the Ron Paul campaign had registered to be a write in candidate in all the states, then your thesis is plausible. If Ron Paul himself was pushing for it and they put lawyers on it, etc... - then it could have been a very cool thing.

For whatever reason, that did not happen and Dr. Paul CHOSE not to do that. As a result, write-in votes *might* be counted and reported in just a handful of states, weeks after the election. So, the arguement for a write-in campaign thus loses its appeal.

Being accusatory after that fact gets us nowhere. And, since it was IMPOSSIBLE for a national write-in campaign to be effective, it makes me question those who push misinformation and guilt-trips. Write-in to your heart's content, I have no problem with that. In my state that part of the ballot will not even be tallied.

Nice points - but your thesis is illogical

You said: "Of all strategies, not voting, voting against Obama, voting against Romney, voting libertarian, only the write-in methodology shows the real scope of our power. Only this proves our numbers."

That is a lovely fantasy, but "our" numbers will never be known using this strategy. Most states referenced in the dozens of misinformation posts here will only count write-ins if there are enough to make a difference. Also, even if a state is confirmed to count write-ins, about eight, those are only if the computers register the votes. Also, in those very few states that will count - those numbers will not be known for weeks, possibly months.

So, who exactly is going to "show our numbers". In some preaching to the choir website? No one will know except us and after some digging. So, what is the point?

All that said, I have no issue with anyone choosing to write-in. I never have. But, those who choose to do that are doing so, hopefully, for good reasons and because they feel obliged to do it. Fine as well. However, anyone who thinks it will show support for Ron Paul or liberty to anyone else is deluded.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

I disagree with some of the things Dr. K has done.

Not that it is right or wrong. This is, after all, a nation built on capitalism.

I do what I can to avoid being 'databased'. But in todays world of medical, credit cards and drivers licenses, it becomes moot, so my avoidances are ones of protest against big government.

So, here we are. If they can flip votes from Paul to romney or romney to obama, what's an extra line of code that could likewise flip GJ or a WRITE-IN vote to one or the other candidate.

Unfortunately, I will be casting my vote via electronic machine. I will review the ballot thoroughly before I submit. I will then take photos with my camera for verification, and prosperity.

If the need arises, I will sign an affidavit and submit it.

Dr. K., sometimes I can't stand you. But other times I applaud you. Pretty much like school, or a marriage, I would presume.

WRITE-IN RON PAUL - PRESIDENT. Write-in Andrew Napolitano - VP

like not following my original gut feeling about supporting the National Delegate (Gilbert) case. Well, at least all such can be written up for experience, so we call all go on with the positive, so we can continue to make change. I applaud you for recognizing the need to do something constructive about the challenges before us.

Write-in voting keeps power in the hands of power

Write-in voting is marginalizing your voice and choice.

I don't believe Obama is doing well, and I also think Romney and the GOP fought us pretty hard.

I can't predict Obama will win. I'm seeing as much Romney as Obama signs, far more Romney than McCain, and way fewer Obama than in 08.

The people get power by becioming a force in a major party. The GOP is that party, and while we did not win the nomination, we certainly have enough brains and courage to stand up to Romney and the GOP in our party in our effort to restore the republic.

I agree that we won't stop working

but please get your head out of the sand - things ain't looking good for your guy.

Romney is just not someone to get behind.

4 or 8

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

why wait?

I've got work to do for the next two years and then I run for my seat again or not.. but the question remains,, why wait 4 or 8 years? Why wouldn't be be working everyday to restore the republic.. why is it supposed to be some end all election?

You know as well as I do that I am working local/state here and now. You are avoiding the question of 4 or 8 for presidency.

Without house and senate, president is limited, aside from having power of executive orders, in Ron Pauls case cancelling nonconstitutional executive orders. This election is moot as far as policy direction. The question remains, do we pounce in 2016, or have romney in for 8 only to go to another democrat for 4 or 8, setting us back until 2020 or beyond.

Our time is now. Take a stand. Write-in, and have no regrets.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

4 or 8 assumes way too much

Prepare for perpetual pouncing for eight years (or less).

Oh, there you are.

Still ignoring my posts about the gop and willard lying, cheating, and stealing. Still no answer about the delegates and supporters suffering broken fingers, dislocated hips and being arrested.

Great answer :-)

I like when we are nice to each other. But only sometimes ;-)

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

I'll join the 50% +

of the American people and sit this election out. I will go to the poll, ask for my ballot, rip it up and throw it away (just so I know that nobody has voted for me.)

I agree with much of your post, besides who is going to get coronated, if I had to put money on it, I'd say Willard gets the crown.

“When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker a raving lunatic.” – Dresden James

Don't sit it out...

write in Ron.

Help us let the light of liberty shine over the corrupt vote counters, and make them see Ron Paul's name over and over again until it's burned into their brains.

I don't play, I commission the league.

what about your local

what about your local elections? voting against taxes, voting out all the sitting judges. Voting for Prop 64 like here in Colorado that legalizes marijauna? There is way much more on your ballot then just for POTUS. I wrote in Ron Paul. With that vote I gave the middle finger to the establishemnt and told them that they do not have me brainwashed like the other 85% of the nitwits in this nation. DO THE WRITE IN.
