I like it. It doesn't actually go into any of the issues.
Its weird because unlike all his other commercials, it doesn't go into details. However, this is how all candidates do their advertising because people hate to have to listen to boring details. True, we like having this devoted following, but mainstream america couldn't care all that much about policies. You could talk them into anything. They want a guy who will joke with you at the bar and get drunk with you after work. This ad caters more to that side of america.
I disagree
I think America is not looking for politics as usual. They're looking for something different. They're looking for change. If the commericial waters down Paul's image to be like any other politicians, he loses what people are attracted to. Paul is a maverick and a revolutionary, and to some extent he ought to be marketed that way. I think that's what Americans are looking for today. The advertising strategy, or lack thereof, for all of Paul's ads is on the wrong track.
...like a lead blimp
wow. Nice attempt at finding some speaker that sounds like Ronald Regan though. What a dud.
Hey, somebody posted some ads here yesterday from the libertarian candidate in 2000. There is a bunch of them....EVERY one with more spark and creativity than our current batch. I lost the Youtube connection...could someone repost those as a comparison to this sad effort? Thanks.

Better ads with less funding available. There are numbskulls running the Paul campaign.
MUCH Thanks!!!
Now....EVERYONE....Check these out and get back to us.

I like it.
It focuses on the stumbling economy, and offers reassurance at the end.

Great. Another mediocre blase commercial
to waste millions of dollars airing. Where is the creativity?! Where is the emotion? No one will look back at this ad as an example of effective or creative advertising. Fire the campaign manager(s).
BTW, it doesn't even show his face to trigger facial recognition. Stupid stupid stupid.
Could they just do
a commercial that clearly states why voters should cast their vote for Dr. Paul?? Or maybe say how he is different than the other candidates!
h-daddy
The abysmal quality of Paul's commercials
is why Paul came in 5th in libertarian-friendly New Hampshire.
If I were a skeptical person, I'd guess someone is pocketing money from the commercial budget and only paying out the bare minimum to make adds.
Wait for the recount
RP might have come in 3rd.

Or
6th.
Now now
let's not be negative.
It certainly isn't our $60,000 they are wasting on the recount.
Hey Devon, what state do you live in?

DOWNER
I hate to be a downer here, but this ad is, well, a downer. That has a subconscious effect on the viewers. They associate this downer message with ron paul. not good.

The AD needs to show people
The AD needs to show people loosing their homes.. The AD needs to show dead soldiers and crying families. The AD needs to show people in America loosing their jobs. The AD also needs to show BUSH talking to the elites and showing them with all the money.... These are the reasons we support Ron Paul and America needs to see this.
