Protesters tear gassed in Kuwait

I have no Idea what this about but just received and email from my mother who is visiting Kuwait. Kuwait is typically peaceful. Keep an eye on this.....

Interesting events tonight. XXXXX and I were on our way to a women's wedding party and dad and XXXXX decided to go with us in case of problems. The hotel was near the Emir's palace. A planned peaceful demonstration was scheduled down on the Gulf Road. We saw expressway exits closed off and lots of police activity as we drove down town.

> Coming home we saw more police and busses and military along the downtown road. We took the long way back, along the high desert road...Seventh Ring Road. We heard the crowd was dispersed with tear gas and sound bombs.

Kuwait is not a place that has these type of issues.

That's what I thought.

Kuwait is typically a peaceful place. I wonder if this has anything to do with our military presence there?

It's not unusual to have a protest

But when they start gassing people, something is not right...
