Doug Wead: A Mitt Romney Win?

“The time will come when the constitution and government will hang by a brittle thread and will be ready to fall into other hands but this people, the latter-day saints will step forth and save it.”

- Joseph Smith, May, 1843.

If history is any indicator Mitt Romney will win tomorrow’s election. Yes, the polls show it close and the electoral map actually tilts in President Obama’s favor but never before in history has a president been returned to power with such a dismal economic performance.

1.) Unemployment has remained high.

2.) The housing crisis remains untouched, crushing the middle class. Even the smallest tweaks expected by the real estate community within 90 days of the inauguration of Obama have been consistently ignored for the full four years.

3.) Real inflation is appalling and has robbed the poor and the retired on fixed incomes. I say “real inflation,” as opposed to the new government-media revised fake figures, redesigned to help rescue the failing presidency of George W. Bush, figures that now exclude food and oil prices, the two most basic factors in our economic lives.

My reaction to the presidential election is basically this:

I'm not happy obama is president, but I'm glad romney lost. It's also interesting to me that wall st was lined up behind Romney in a big way and he still lost. Gives me a little hope that they aren't as big and bad as they (and sometimes I) think. At least we won't be going into Iran enthusiastically! We'll probably go in reluctantly anyway, so it's not that big of improvement.

Alan Grayson - while I disagree with him on a lot of issues I think he is fighting for the right reasons. the fed (imo) is the heart of the beast, so if you will fight against that I'll be forgiving on other issues.

Alan West - Hilarious! The guy is crazy - probably the result of his exposure to war, but I laughed out loud when I heard that!

Marijuana - Not sure about Washington, but I am not completely sold on Colorado's bill. We'll have to see how things play out, but I'm worried it's a red herring. Either way, it makes a great statement.

I feel 100% the same way

Grayson is something of a Zionist, unfortunately. This is true too of Al Franken and former rep. Anthony Weiner--I'd say they are overall liberty-minded, but they'd rubber stamp anything for Israel.

On weed, all it takes is a few more states to stand their ground for the feds to eventually give up the ghost.

we have no attachments, it's kinda like betting whether we get punched in the right eye or the left eye:)

I am in the Colorado Rocky Mnts, so you may just have to promise to buy yourself and another liberty lover a beer with the $10 if you win!

I forgot to add above that those were top donors to romney as of oct 25th. I've been going out on a limb and predicting a romney victory because of his wall st support for a couple months now and I guess I'll get to find out in one day if my theory is correct..

find me a candidate polling

find me a candidate polling over 50% in the final Gallup polls who ended up losing the election. Romney is and has been over 50% according to Gallup.

The rest of the polls are garbage.

I live in Florida

I have had at least five calls today and every day recenty asking to vote for Mitt Romney. The strangest calls were a few days ago, one saying Hello Margaret, this is Mitt Romney and another Hello Margaret, this is Paul Ryan. I would say there is no comfort in RNC land.

We are in another war for our Independence.

Maybe no comfort but, certainly lots of money for

repeated phone calls. Seems like if they bother enough people with repeated annonying calls, they could lose more actual votes than they would have otherwise. We'd better take control of the GOP sooner rather than later. RP supporters know how to handle money a lot better than that, thanks to the good Doctor.

“It is the food which you furnish to your mind that determines the whole character of your life.”

What I get is the media and

What I get is the media and half the people here have a bromance for Obama.

“Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it’s realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy.”
― Ron Paul

I wouldn't say anyone here has a hard-on for Obama

just 'cause they think he's gonna win..

But, but, but

But, but, but it is all Bush's fault. Obama inherited the mess. He can't help it that he has not only been completely ineffective but has actually made things worse. I mean, it is Bush's fault, isn't it? Just give Obama four more years and he will clean up the mess that Bush left him. Just four more years and the messiah will save us. NOT!

The lip of truth shall be established forever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment...Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are His delight. Prov 12:19,22

I assume...

That Doug Wead is being completely sarcastic in his analysis here.
I think he was pointing out HOW last time Obama was the Messiah - now Mittens is the "Prophet for the Mormans"! So yeah, either one gets in nothing will change! - Yeah like we all don't know this already.

"Many of us agree that you and I have no right to use coercion against people who don't owe us anything. The same prohibition applies to groups of people who constitute the government. The reason is simple: unjust acts do not become just when legalized. "

Don't want to hijack this but Doug will be a guest tomorrow

and you can call in live or post your question about this and anything else.

Here is the thread about it:

An alternative to the MSM Machine http://freedombroadcastingnetwork.com/

I expect better from Doug than this--

the collectivism he uses is shameful.

Willard Mitt Romney is not "the latter day saints"; he is one man who does not even represent the best values that "latter day saints" espouse, among which are:

honesty in business; Romney's record is there for all to see

incorruptibility; plenty of Mormons have been corrupt, but a corrupt man cannot save a corrupt nation

no pre-emptive war, peaceability; Romney is a warmonger

compassion for the poor and ill; Romney has no sympathy for poverty and believes those who can be helped by medical marijuana should not receive that help

that people must guard against 'evil and designing' men or 'secret combinations'; Mitt Romney has been in many closed rooms planning disaster for enough people that he supports the opposite of what his religion supports--

I think Doug sounds as though he has let go of his own principles, because he knows some good LDS people. Mitt looks very good 'on paper'; he doesn't smoke, swear, drink or cheat on Ann--

but that is where it ends--

Willard Romney is not the LDS people. Plenty of them are enamored of him, for reasons which only they can understand; many of them don't think much of him, beyond that he is 'better than Obama'--

Those with whom I have spoken often say, "he's not Obama"--

someone who can 'rescue' or 'save' America has to be better than 'not Obama'--

Try again, Doug.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Doug is a good guy, one of us

Doug is a good guy, one of us and awake...however with all due respect, he's no libertarian. His mindset is still deeply ingrained with collectivism back from neo-con days. He has very little grasp of Austrian economics. He repeatedly references corruption of media aided through Federal Reserve freebies. But he is no Lew Rockwell or Judge Nap, if that's the expectation of some people.

Immoral funding of Military Industrial Complex by Federal Reserve and US taxation system must stop!!!! End illegal/unconstitutional wars! Preserve US currency!

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

As a Mormon, I said this before, and I'll say it again

The only way I can see Mitt Romney "saving" the Constitution is if he has a Saul-to-Paul moment (or, in Book of Mormon terms, an Alma the Younger conversion moment) after he's in office which completely turns him around.

If he puts Ron Paul as a Judge in the federal Judicial branch, that'd be awesome.

I do believe in miracles and I do hope that these things happen, but I'm not going to count on either one.

A little-known, more recent prophecy given by Ezra Taft Benson updated this prophecy to include honest, liberty-loving people in general.

I had also heard that this prophecy could also refer to physically saving the Constitution so that the nation can be rebuilt based on its principles after the nation has collapsed. There is a lot of speculation, and until we prove to be a good enough and faithful enough people with the knowledge we DO have, I doubt we're going to get more revelation on the matter.

Basically, I know that God knows what's going on and is in power, and I know that I don't know what the immediate future holds. The best I can do is try to be virtuous and just with everyone, be a good example to others so that they would be inspired to come closer to Christ, prepare for the worst, hope for the best (in this case, that people basically do want to do what is right, even if they do not know what it is), share my knowledge, and so on.

"Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." -- Thomas Paine

Some of us are right about one thing:

Mitt Romney will lose!! Yep, he will lose!! The Zionist Jews are not finished with Obama yet, despite their financial backing to Romney this year.

Here's what I posted:

Uh Doug, weren’t you in Tampa with us? Did Romney & his cohorts have any relationship with the truth & fairness? Why should a Romney administration be any different? I watched the primary debates & the general debates. There was nothing in Romney’s responses or speeches that made me think that business would be anything but the usual corruption we’ve had for decades, under his administration. I voted Gary Johnson. I voted my conscience. I voted my principles.
Cynthia Kennedy, Delegate, Nevada

Thank you

Well said Cynthia.

Doug uses an interesting phrase..

"can Mitt Romney?" Maybe the question should be "will Mitt Romney".
The answer being yes, he could, but no he wont. And he wont do anything good for the American people because he is a weak, spineless puppet who is up to his eyeballs in corruption, within a corrupt banking and church hierarchy.
Both him and Barry disgust me deeply.

As a Mormon I can say Romney

As a Mormon I can say Romney isn't going to save anything. He may try to save his skin that's all.

I'm a Mormon too, and....

...though I see Romney and Reid as MINO's (Mormons in Name Only), I'm afraid that I have to report that most Mormons I personally know love Romney and want him to win, though they don't appear to have the faintest clue that he's a globalist puppet who shares the same policies as fellow globalist Obama.

They are blinded.

Yes, there are a few who've awakened, but most act like typical black Americans and vote for somebody because they are Mormon or have a R in front of their party's name.

When debating these zombie Mormons, most to their credit, don't argue like a liberal, they just go silent and change the subject as they would have to argue against their own Scripture to try to defend Romney. Yes, Romney is apostate as far as Christian political doctrine is concerned, and Mormon political doctrine is nothing more than the doctrine of free agency backed by the two major commandments of "thou shalt not steal and covet," and "thou shalt not kill".

If these two basic commandments were applied to human laws and understood by the people, you'd have a civilization devoted to the Constitution, but since they are not understood, you have a nation of zombies who support the likes of globalist puppet #1 or #2.

"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a rEVOLution before tomorrow morning." - Henry Ford

I would equate a Mormon supporting Romney

with black folks voting for Obama. If he's one of my own, I have to vote for him.

Thanks gltskline

...I have a daughter-in-law who is Mormon and has been saying the same thing for a long time and, also, saying most Mormons she knows feel the same way.

Many Mormons put adherence to the Constitution, honesty and consistency way above membership in the same religion and I respect their ability to think as individuals. You are one among many.

Thank you!

If I had to put

money on it, I'd say Willard wins the popular vote. Who knows what the Electoral College will do though.

My money is on Obama.

My money is on Obama.

I bought

100 shares of Obama at $5.89 a share. Payday is tomorrow!

Even Chris Christie Dumped the Chump

RMoney will lose. Obama will get 300 electoral votes tomorrow.

The electoral college

doesn't vote until mid December.
