Poll: Romney 49, Obama 48
Rasmussen has Romney at 49%, Obama trailing by 1, and 2% for everybody else (Libertarian, Green, etc.)

Poll: Dead heat in battleground states
Politico/GW University poll shows 47% apiece for Romney and Obama in the battleground states. Interestingly, Romney grabs independents at 47 percent to 32 percent, a change from 2008 when Obama was strong with independents.

A failure to break 50% usually means trouble for the incumbent, but this race could go any which way.

First Results from NH: Tie
Continuing with the tie theme, the first results from the first town to vote in NH, Dixville-Notch: President Obama 5, Gov. Romney, Virgil Goode 0, Gary Johnson 0.

This is the first time that Dixville-Notch has voted a tie; is this a harbinger of things to come?

Third Parties: A Waste of Time?
Libertarian professor Randy Barnett says in the WSJ that third parties are a waste in the first-past-the-post system. Rather, libertarians should work to move the two existing parties toward liberty views.

Meanwhile, the Libertarian and Constitution parties have earned enough votes in past elections in Missouri to register candidates on par with the GOP and the Democrats. Third-party votes could reach 6% in Missouri this year.

What effect do you think third-party votes have on the election(s) this year?

Obama Wins Battleground States
NBC News reports Obama winning in Ohio, Wisconsin, and Iowa. The GOP failed to take over the Senate, with a 50-50 tie being broken by Vice President Joe Biden.

Third Parties Poll 1.5%, Could Decide Election
Third parties are polling 1.5% in Ohio, and could decide the election. Caveat: Johnson is polling 0.9%. Added to Romney's 48.6%, it still doesn't match Obama's 49.8%.

Anti-Obamacare Propositions Mostly Pass
Thinkprogress whines about anti-Obamacare propositions on the ballot on Election Day: "Wyoming’s Amendment A, Florida’s Amendment 1, Alabama’s Amendment 6, and Montana’s Measure LR-122 would all prohibit state residents and employers from being forced to purchase insurance or participate in any externally-imposed health care system.

In Missouri, Proposition E seeks to prevent the state from instituting its own health insurance exchange."

I 100% agree with you

, however if I m given a choice to vote for marriage equality I would, coz that type of government intervention is closer to no involvement (although still needs to allow for polygamy) than marriage inequality (which blacklists everything except one man, one woman type of marriage).

So to sum up.

If I can chose no-state involvement, I would - but I won't vote no on something that makes state involvement less exclusive , and hence brings it closer to "non-involvement"

Or to put in in CO marijuana legislation perspective - I'd vote to get rid of drug war completely and not to have state involvement in what we put in our bodies. However, barring that option, I will also vote for anything that limits that involvement, even if it doesn't eliminate it completely.

Email from ATL Glenn Beck 912 Leader!!! LMAO!!!

"Fellow Citizens,
We are all deflated today. It's a tough loss; very hard to understand and accept. Today there is endless analysis; but I can't bring myself to turn on the TV, and will not watch at all today. I've been listening to *Glenn Beck's radio show all morning-his insight has helped some.

We are not having a 912 meeting tonight-I can't talk about this yet, and I know our many poll workers, poll watchers, and sign wavers are exhausted. We all need time to process what just happened.

Next week I'll be ready to jump back in-will you?"

It Was Wierd (I thought He Would Cry)

I thought I was the only one that noticed. It was like he was disputing the numbers from Ohio as though the numbers were lies from Fox News.

He reminded me of a person in a bunker during Berlins Fall pushing flags and tokens around on a map but there were no actual people behind those markers on a map.

He

probably did not know CIA decided to step in at the last moment.

What does "CIA step in @ last minute" mean?

It is @ times difficult to detect sarcasm online or did this happen? Does anyone know if #s released 19 days early by Phoenix CBS affiliate were accurate?

Aaron Russo, Nikola Tesla, Ron Paul, I'm jus' sayin'

Actually Mr. bill

Actually Mr. bill O'Reily...50% of Americans don't want stuff. The fact is that 50% of Americans did not vote. Only 25% of American VOTERS want stuff and 25% VOTERS want...Obama out. The rest is history.

It's Impossible

to write in Ron Paul when the stupid machine is a tone screen computer and they claim to have run out of paper ballots.

skippy

Rush Limbaugh Say's "He Can't Understand!" Ha!

Tries to imply Romney's corporate success and "decency" should have carried Romney to victory.

Maybe because Rush could never tell the difference between Success from "true conservatism" of singular title holders in property;

and Success derived from "state born Exclusive Privileges" of corporate collective (title to property) cartels that turn "free trade" into "Privileged trade" and "Freedom of Contract" into "privileged contracts".

Collectivism in Title to Property is always Socialism, whether in government or the private sector.

Poor boy. Perpetual whining will be heard all day every day for four more years from Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck an Mark Levine.... four practitioners of pathetic ignorance of the Constitution.

Pack Your Parachute and Rubber Ducky Ring & Get ready to Nullify

Because from Obama's "victory" speech, he still doesn't get it.

Time for State Governors and Legislators and Judges to write a half page nullification as demonstrated by James Madison in the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions http://www.pacificwestcom.com/candidates

and get ready to enforce Nullification of federal Laws using state and local Law enforcement.

And the winner is.......

Look at all those wasted votes

Anybody who voted for Romney wasted their vote.

This is Terrible

On the presidential level, I can't think of a worse kind of result. Obviously the numbers could be worse, but think about this:

Gary Johnson's vote totals could not have won the election for Romney.
The TOTAL 3d party vote was less than 5%.
Akin and Murdock have sent the message that the tea party vote is not worth the risk.

It's almost a complete vindication of the two party system. The only hope we have of making our case for influence in the next cycle is that the uncounted Ron Paul write ins would have been enough to swing the vote, or that somehow we could bite off enough liberal voters to move in the same direction. But at best we have speculation and there are real results that show the country just wants more government and less liberty.

Show me the bright spot if you can, but I don't see that we had ANY effect right now.

I'm an Ohioan that did not

I'm an Ohioan that did not vote for president. I think the numbers don't mean much, especially since half of the people that could vote didn't. My presidential voting record is Nader - no one - no one now.

The bright side? Um...well...we don't have to listen to Mitt talk anymore.

Gary Johnson Breaks Ed Clark’s 1980 Vote Record of 921,128 Votes for President of the United States.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

$17 Per vote verses $3 per vote doesn't add up!

So Romnay and Obumer spent 2 billion (that's conservative...) to get 117 million votes. Roughly around $17 per vote.
And Gary Johnson spent 3 million to get 1.3 million votes. Roughly around $3 per vote.

Ok that makes sense to me.... lets let them run our economy. NOT!

Gary Johnson hardly put a

Gary Johnson hardly put a dent in the election. And most of his votes he can personally thank Ron Paul for.

His votes came from ron paul supporters for sure

The only "base" he had came out of Canada and others hoping to tell ron paul supporters to support him so it can somehow help "their" countries.

If anyone should have ran 3rd party as a last ditch " f u " vote to the establishment it should have been Ron Paul this cycle. Gary doesn't have what it takes to carry on the rEVOLution which has been proven for sure.

Is there is an online archive for GlennBeck's radio program?

Around 10:35am EST this morning, Glenn Beck stated on his radio program that we (I believe he was referring to the Republican party as a whole) lost the youth vote, primarily ages 18-29, to socialism yesterday.

I would like to listen to this portion of his broadcast again to get his exact quote, but it appears that you need a subscription to view past radio episodes on theblaze.com. Anyone know of another online archive for conservative talk radio?

Feel free to reuse any resources/ideas that I post on the DailyPaul on other networking sites.

If the MSM can call a state with 1% of the vote in

Then I can certainly justify my math to say the RP vote(or to my argument - the lack of) cost Mitt the election. I do not believe any large portion of the RP vote went to Mitt AND any that went to Obama result in a two point swing -not just a one point loss as would be the case of a 3rd party vote.

Holy crap am I glad that the majority of that shit is over!

We made some good steps forward and a few back but all in all, we're still ahead by a good margin. At least in my book.

Time to get started for the next 4 years. Maybe a day or two to enjoy the fruits of our labor though.. :)

Just heard from the horses

Just heard from the horses ass...a Fox News analysis that the republicans are going to have to reach out to Ron Paul because Ron Paul appealed to the young voters somehow which Romney was lacking big time.

The answer is war. Nobody wants another war. Romney was never going to be elected with the stench of the Bush administration still lingering. Romney was a sure thing in Iran.
