Poll: Romney 49, Obama 48
Rasmussen has Romney at 49%, Obama trailing by 1, and 2% for everybody else (Libertarian, Green, etc.)

Poll: Dead heat in battleground states
Politico/GW University poll shows 47% apiece for Romney and Obama in the battleground states. Interestingly, Romney grabs independents at 47 percent to 32 percent, a change from 2008 when Obama was strong with independents.

A failure to break 50% usually means trouble for the incumbent, but this race could go any which way.

First Results from NH: Tie
Continuing with the tie theme, the first results from the first town to vote in NH, Dixville-Notch: President Obama 5, Gov. Romney, Virgil Goode 0, Gary Johnson 0.

This is the first time that Dixville-Notch has voted a tie; is this a harbinger of things to come?

Third Parties: A Waste of Time?
Libertarian professor Randy Barnett says in the WSJ that third parties are a waste in the first-past-the-post system. Rather, libertarians should work to move the two existing parties toward liberty views.

Meanwhile, the Libertarian and Constitution parties have earned enough votes in past elections in Missouri to register candidates on par with the GOP and the Democrats. Third-party votes could reach 6% in Missouri this year.

What effect do you think third-party votes have on the election(s) this year?

NBC News reports Obama winning in Ohio, Wisconsin, and Iowa. The GOP failed to take over the Senate, with a 50-50 tie being broken by Vice President Joe Biden.

Third Parties Poll 1.5%, Could Decide Election
Third parties are polling 1.5% in Ohio, and could decide the election. Caveat: Johnson is polling 0.9%. Added to Romney's 48.6%, it still doesn't match Obama's 49.8%.

Anti-Obamacare Propositions Mostly Pass
Thinkprogress whines about anti-Obamacare propositions on the ballot on Election Day: "Wyoming’s Amendment A, Florida’s Amendment 1, Alabama’s Amendment 6, and Montana’s Measure LR-122 would all prohibit state residents and employers from being forced to purchase insurance or participate in any externally-imposed health care system.

In Missouri, Proposition E seeks to prevent the state from instituting its own health insurance exchange."

cali and maine will be the

cali and maine will be the only ones that tally them but when and where? i cannot find any link on their totals. Sadly i saw this coming from a mile away! weird that cali and maine have no totals for them yet. Might take a few days or weeks for cali and maine but i doubt we will ever see any numbers from any other states on them.

Ron Paul 2016

Cannot be?

Ohio and Florida

Can anyone explain how Ohio is called for Obama with 77% reporting with a gap of about 17,000 votes and Florida is still undecided with 91% reporting and a gap of 47,000?

I know Florida has more registered voters, but this seems a bit odd to me.

They can call it because it's pre-determined.

The closeness is just part of the script, to keep it exciting and improve ratings.

Now Romney has more votes in Ohio than Obama

....according to Fox News, yet still in the Obama category. Am I missing something here?

It Probably Has to Do with Network Ratings

Ohio has only 18 electoral votes, while Florida has 29. Also remember that Florida played the decisive role in 2000 with the "hanging chad" mess. Keeping Florida "undecided" encourages the partisan fanatics to stay tuned to find out the big news once it finally comes.

Having said that, now that Obama has garnered above and beyond the required 270 electoral votes (Iowa has supposedly put him over the top), one would think that other states would become irrelevant. So ultimately, I can't say for sure.

Good News, Bad News ...

Good News: Romney loses.

Bad News: Obama wins (even though he isn't eligible).

L A N D S L I D E

A shellacking. I am in Ohio. obummer is going to carry Ohio. The final terratories in play are all obummer strongholds. obummer will win Ohio by +3.

I voted this morning for GJ hoping he would get 5% or at least deny Rmoney the win. It is the first time in my life that I feel like my vote actually counted. I am so happy. LANDSLIDE. We Win!

How do we "win" with Obama re-elected?

He's a socialist, corporate-controlled, budding tyrant bent on destroying the country.

Ann in Florida

Obama is term limited.

Obama is term limited.

Come on now let's not

Come on now let's not celebrate. Even though Romney lost that can only mean Obama will be re-elected. The worst part is you know the GOP will not lean more Paul, they will lean more towards the welfare/nanny state while still gushing over the warfare state.

Actually, the shift towards

Actually, the shift towards promoting Rand Paul by a lot of long time GOP politicians indicated to me they didn't like what Romney was doing either.

Remember, Rand is a freshman senator. It was a predictive indicator of this outcome in the election. Ron Paul supporters won't the only ones not happy with Romney's power play moves in the GOP.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

You see it coming the whole time...

But nothing prepares you for the absolute dread you feel when they announce that one of these maniacs will now lord over you for the next 4 years.

There is nothing to celebrate here.

Hey GOP

Do I have to say it?

I hope we end up in total revolution now, because I know the kind of people in the GOP now would not survive the cataclysm. Then when it's over, we'll have a second Constitutional Convention and it will be attended NOT by these fat old corrupt hacks that we endured in the GOP, but real men and women who bore the true hardship of liberty - fighting for it instead of compromising and selling it out.

The future is bright. Without you, present GOP.

And we won't forget who you are. Or were. We will piss on your graves.

Granger

Haha, I'm laughing at Granger and her GOP "COMMITTEE" position.

Is she running off to Boston "armed" with the Constitution in her hand, trying to hold Mitt accountable now?

That's uncalled for,

and in bad taste.

??

Why are you laughing? She can go back and say she supported the party. Now she is much more effective inside the GOP.

I'm a precinct captain and working within GOP, also. I voted GJ.

Now, THIS is interesting!

Faux News "decision desk" is calling Ohio for Barry, and therefore giving the election to the-one-who-is-not-even-eligible.

However ...

Karl Rove -- the Great Neocon -- says that HE thinks Ohio is still in play.

The decision desk guys were interviewed and they said there are still a lot of counties left in Ohio to count, but most of those counties are HEAVILY Democrat, so they are 99% sure that Ohio will go to Barry.

Now then ...

*IF* Ohio eventually is declared for Romney, we will KNOW FOR SURE where those rigged voting machines are located.

If that were to happen, would be great fun watching all the spin, and all the Dems biting their lips for not wanting to tell the truth (since their team cheats, too).

Just something to keep an eye on ...

And it's all over!

CBS is projecting that Obama wins, he's over 270. The victory celebration is underway at blue-team-fascist headquarters. Hooray (that we only have to wait 4 years to make a liberty candidate POTUS rather than 8 and that socialism not capitalism will get the blame for what's about to happen)! LOL...and, almost as important, hooray that it's finally OVER! I can now cut my daily intake of MSM douchebaggery by at least half.

And on that happy note, fellow Paulites, I bid you good night.

Tomorrow, we get back to work.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

GOP,

you've been rebuffed. Let the blame games begin...

Woot woot... my block is

Woot woot... my block is abuzz with happiness. Me I'm just happy Romney lost. They are happy Obama wpn.

Obama takes Oregon. He will

Obama takes Oregon. He will now take Virginia and Florida.

Too bad, Mitt Romney. TOO BAAAAD!!

Surely there is something

Surely there is something Charlie Webster can do about these results?

looks like GJ is playing spoiler in OH, VA, and FL

I can already hear the pretend libertarians blaming Gary for handing this to Obama.
