Poll: Romney 49, Obama 48
Rasmussen has Romney at 49%, Obama trailing by 1, and 2% for everybody else (Libertarian, Green, etc.)

Poll: Dead heat in battleground states
Politico/GW University poll shows 47% apiece for Romney and Obama in the battleground states. Interestingly, Romney grabs independents at 47 percent to 32 percent, a change from 2008 when Obama was strong with independents.

A failure to break 50% usually means trouble for the incumbent, but this race could go any which way.

First Results from NH: Tie
Continuing with the tie theme, the first results from the first town to vote in NH, Dixville-Notch: President Obama 5, Gov. Romney, Virgil Goode 0, Gary Johnson 0.

This is the first time that Dixville-Notch has voted a tie; is this a harbinger of things to come?

Third Parties: A Waste of Time?
Libertarian professor Randy Barnett says in the WSJ that third parties are a waste in the first-past-the-post system. Rather, libertarians should work to move the two existing parties toward liberty views.

Meanwhile, the Libertarian and Constitution parties have earned enough votes in past elections in Missouri to register candidates on par with the GOP and the Democrats. Third-party votes could reach 6% in Missouri this year.

What effect do you think third-party votes have on the election(s) this year?

Obama Wins Battleground States
NBC News reports Obama winning in Ohio, Wisconsin, and Iowa. The GOP failed to take over the Senate, with a 50-50 tie being broken by Vice President Joe Biden.

Third Parties Poll 1.5%, Could Decide Election
Third parties are polling 1.5% in Ohio, and could decide the election. Caveat: Johnson is polling 0.9%. Added to Romney's 48.6%, it still doesn't match Obama's 49.8%.

Anti-Obamacare Propositions Mostly Pass
Thinkprogress whines about anti-Obamacare propositions on the ballot on Election Day: "Wyoming’s Amendment A, Florida’s Amendment 1, Alabama’s Amendment 6, and Montana’s Measure LR-122 would all prohibit state residents and employers from being forced to purchase insurance or participate in any externally-imposed health care system.

In Missouri, Proposition E seeks to prevent the state from instituting its own health insurance exchange."

who did you vote for Justice of Supreme Court in Ohio

I just downloaded my ballot to see what was on it. Are there any Liberty Candidates for Supreme Court, or any that are at least better?

Go Colorado!

My mother just wrote in Ron Paul, and I voted GJ here in Colorado. :)

Washington State

We have mail-in ballots here in WA State, and this year my family filled out our ballots together after dinner so we could explain some of the ballot initiatives and so we could research the local elections together. After a long drawn out discussion about policies and positions of the candidates for the POTUS, the results from our house went as follows:

1 - Obama
1 - Romney
3 - Johnson

Essentially my house went +3 Johnson! And considering that all of the Johnson votes is year were Obama votes four years ago, I think we have sent a clear message in this household!

GO LIBERTY GO!

I assume

I assume the eviction notices for the Obamney and Robama voters have been delivered.

Well the Obama vote from my

Well the Obama vote from my sister, maybe, but the Romney vote from my dad will forever go unchallenged...

Illinios

Write in for my man Ron Paul

My elderly Mom and I just

My elderly Mom and I just voted in NH. Two write in votes for Ron Paul and Judge Napolitano! Woot! Libertarian and Independents for the rest of the ticket and a yes to amend the state Constitution to no state income tax in perpetuity. :)

Blessings )o(

My prediction

Johnson breaks 10% in 3 states, ron paul write in breaks 5% in california (how effing awesome would that be), and nationally, Johnson breaks 3%, with a total media blackout. Johnson got 2 votes in last nights NH first votes, thats 4.5%!!!!

Tick Tock GOP, we are comming for you and all of your seats in 2014. Either back our liberty loving candidates, or we will let democrats finish this federal govt off so we can start anew.

Good post except you will

Good post except you will never know what % Ron Paul got. At least not for a long time.

LOL...I guess you STILL don't understand!

We'll never know the REAL percentage of ANY of it!! You and I don't vote for President...the EC does. And who the hell knows what they REALLY vote in; the system is rotten to the core. Today's electronic votes are being "tabulated" in Spain by a company owned by George Soros.
By voting for Gary Johnson in an effort to get the Lib party past the 5% theshold, you've also wasted a vote as the PTB will announce his total as only 3.8% or something similar. Either way, we lose.

The best way to know how many

The best way to know how many votes RP gets is to change "Other" to Ron Paul.

The MSM cannot ignore 5%

It is too much.

You haven't been doing this too long huh?

They ignore us all the time. We are hardly a pebble in their shoe.

The MSM ignored 24%

in 2008 we got 24% for Ron Paul, and it went pretty much unreported. We set a fundraising record, too. Also ignored. Do not underestimate the willingness of the MSM to ignore the news.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

They won't be counted for a

They won't be counted for a long time. So the media will have nothing to do with it.

IF they do report it

it'll be a silly little curiosity piece aired at the waning minutes of the newscast and lumped in with those that voted for Mickey Mouse. It will air on a Friday evening when no one is paying attention. It's sad really...

I watched the broadcast

and there were no votes for anybody but mainstream candidates in that dumb old Notch.

I got it

online. When Johnson Naders' Romney in NH, the MSM will have no choice but to report it. I cannot wait to see the look on Hannity's face.

The scanner machines are broken

All throughout Erie County in Western NY State. Citizens are being told to place their ballots in a bin under the voteing machines to be "counted later ".

Ron Swanson

Heh, heh, heh...

Here we go again! Sure they'll be "counted later". Wonder how many they will forget to count.

Is the entire east coast Ron

Is the entire east coast Ron Paul and Gary Johnson supporters?

Mainstream media brainwashers need to go

I just heard Chris Matthews call people who voted 3rd party, idiots. The mainstream media talking heads need to go.

I suppose he would have

I suppose he would have rather I voted for Rmoney?

I Have No Idea What's Going On

For the past week I have avoided the news channels on TV and and all talk radio stations. I haven't watched any of the debates or political adds. I don't know what the latest polls say and I could care less. I won't be staying up late tonight to find out who wins the election. I'm going to get a good night's sleep and in the morning make a nice cup of coffee. I'll open the front door and retrieve the newspaper from wherever the deliveryperson happens to throw it. If I decide to open it up I'm sure the headline will tell me what I already know; that the winner of the election doesn't make a damned bit of difference.

I get it...I really do.

I get it...I really do.

Sounds like you've come down with a case of freedom.

Hope it's really contagious!

Voted for Gary Johnson in MA.

Voted for Gary Johnson in MA.

I have never seen the place so busy

In any election, I generally get there first thing in the morning and have the place to myself. There were literally hundreds of adults standing in line, with 200 votes cast by 9am. Usually, we're lucky to get 200 votes total in this precinct!

Sounds like a MR win in your

Sounds like a MR win in your township. Mine was the same.

I hope not.
