Poll: Romney 49, Obama 48
Rasmussen has Romney at 49%, Obama trailing by 1, and 2% for everybody else (Libertarian, Green, etc.)

Poll: Dead heat in battleground states
Politico/GW University poll shows 47% apiece for Romney and Obama in the battleground states. Interestingly, Romney grabs independents at 47 percent to 32 percent, a change from 2008 when Obama was strong with independents.

A failure to break 50% usually means trouble for the incumbent, but this race could go any which way.

First Results from NH: Tie
Continuing with the tie theme, the first results from the first town to vote in NH, Dixville-Notch: President Obama 5, Gov. Romney, Virgil Goode 0, Gary Johnson 0.

This is the first time that Dixville-Notch has voted a tie; is this a harbinger of things to come?

Third Parties: A Waste of Time?
Libertarian professor Randy Barnett says in the WSJ that third parties are a waste in the first-past-the-post system. Rather, libertarians should work to move the two existing parties toward liberty views.

Meanwhile, the Libertarian and Constitution parties have earned enough votes in past elections in Missouri to register candidates on par with the GOP and the Democrats. Third-party votes could reach 6% in Missouri this year.

What effect do you think third-party votes have on the election(s) this year?

Ron Paul: Best-Of Compilation
Here's best-of compilation of Ron Paul videos as we face this election that doesn't feature him on even a Congressional ballot for the first time in a long time: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL712F9B27550BCB07

Obama Predicted to Win Ohio
CBS News is predicting Obama will win Ohio. Without Ohio, it makes it very difficult for Romney to win.

Obama Wins Battleground States
NBC News reports Obama winning in Ohio, Wisconsin, and Iowa. The GOP failed to take over the Senate, with a 50-50 tie being broken by Vice President Joe Biden.

Third Parties Poll 1.5%, Could Decide Election
Third parties are polling 1.5% in Ohio, and could decide the election. Caveat: Johnson is polling 0.9%. Added to Romney's 48.6%, it still doesn't match Obama's 49.8%.

Liberty Candidate Kerry Bentivolio Wins in Michigan
Preliminary results put Bentivolio (R, MI) US House candidate over the top.

Ron Paul Republican Justin Amash Stays
Liberty Republican Justin Amash keeps his US house seat in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Anti-Obamacare Propositions Mostly Pass
Thinkprogress whines about anti-Obamacare propositions on the ballot on Election Day: "Wyoming’s Amendment A, Florida’s Amendment 1, Alabama’s Amendment 6, and Montana’s Measure LR-122 would all prohibit state residents and employers from being forced to purchase insurance or participate in any externally-imposed health care system.

In Missouri, Proposition E seeks to prevent the state from instituting its own health insurance exchange."

Ron Paul NH Chairman Andy Sanburn Wins
Andy Sanburn (R) wins another term to the NH Senate. He scraped past Lee Nyquist with 15,435 votes to Nyquist's 15,225, requiring a recount. Sanburn has been a key liberty ally in the first primary state.

We have a lot of work to do.

We have a lot of work to do. Looks like the Democratic Party is the big tent. Perhaps we should crash their party next.

Can't be done

51 % of their delegates are elected officials. Even if you took all the open delegate spots available at their conventions the party officials minimum delegate spots are always a majority. They are a little more straight forward with their absolute control over who they nominate. They don't care if you don't like it. Its a big club, even if you join it, your not in it. You can only be a water boy in the Democrat party. You work they decide.

I'll go along with that

And the LP and TP as well.

Anybody know what voter

Anybody know what voter turnout stats are compared to 2008?

12 million

Less..according to figures.

ron paul would have won iowa, nevada, colorado, minnesota...

iowa, nevada, colorado, minnesota, and had a chance to turn california red... in what other states do you you think he would have creamed obama?

are there any states that went red that anybody thinks Dr. Ron Paul would have lost?

But the Liberty candidates

But the Liberty candidates here in MN lost. I don't understand.

did they endorse romney?

maybe minnesotans got burned by bachmann's BS?

i don't know, i'd like to hear your theory

The below comment explains

whyexplains why I believe Obama would have beat Ron Paul even more easily than Romney. The Neocons and moderates wouldn't have supported Paul just like they didn't support Kurt Bills.

You might be right.

You might be right. Unfortunately, we haven't hit bottom yet. Only when we do will the people beg for a leader like Ron Paul.

Till the, he get to look forward to the likes of Jeb Bush or another run by Santorum.

The MN GOP was butt hurt

The MN GOP was butt hurt because of the RP victory here so they refused to back our endorsed candidates. The money stopped coming and many did not vote. I even heard rumors that some were going to vote for the dems so we would lose and they could blame us since we took control of the party.

OK, boys and girls... to review...

2008 + ABO + "hold your nose" + "better evil" + CHEAT-OUT Ron Paul + LEFTIST McCain =
President Barack Hussein Obama

2012 + ABO + "hold your nose" + "better evil" + CHEAT-OUT Ron Paul + LEFTIST Romney =
President Barack Hussein Obama

Brother Winston Smith

The r3VOLution is NOT republiCAN.

Something about insanity and

Something about insanity and doing stuff over and over again. Who said said that? Ben Franklin was on to something.

Not Franklin

It was Albert Einstein

Omg! Thank you for correcting

Omg! Thank you for correcting me while in my drunken snooper! Yes, Einstein! That's embarrassing!

My dream is...

Obama is inaugurated on January 20, 2013 and impeachment proceedings are commenced on January 21, 2013. Benghazi should do it.

Dream on...

The American People elected a President. Whether this was a vote against Romney, or a vote for Obama, he IS the President for the next 4 years and one and a half months!

Quit trying to split hairs and find reasons to impeach him while you know as well as I do that he has covered ALL bases and that he IS the LEAST transparent President ever. He IS the President, nevertheless.

Get back on your feet and get to work. There is a lot to be done in opening people's minds. The future is ours. Brace for the impact, but NEVER forget that "The future is LIBERTY, and NOT tyranny and NOT big government!"

Why are these people dancing?

Why are these people dancing?

one good reason is that Romney won't be president

one good reason is that Romney won't be president... other than that, it's just proof that they're clueless to the reality that is lurking below all the bs that they believe in.

A sad day. I didn't want

A sad day. I didn't want Romney to win, but I wanted Obama to lose. He does not deserve a second term.

I almost didn't vote, but then I went and voted for every Libertarian on the ballot. Johnson was not on the Michigan ballot so I wrote in Ron Paul even though it was a meaningless gesture.

nah...turn that frown upside down

let Obama be the captain of the Titanic.

You can look at the result

You can look at the result both ways. With the looming hyperinflation, the financial collapse of the USA will likely usher in the one world order with its one world currency and accompanying biometrics, etc. Frankly, I'm not pleased with ANY outcome from this fraudulent election...

no. I agree.

I'm not happy at all. BUT at least we here at the DP are prepared and can enjoy the ride. I think that there will be a lot of whiplash and misery for those that don't see this coming.

We've got front row seats!

We've got front row seats! This should be a good show.

Best result of the two for Liberty movement

At least Obummer can't really deny being an non-Christian commie as much as Wrongney could have. And leaves conditions better for this strategy:

Obedience to God is resistance to tyrants.

The people of Alabama did it again...

Amendment 6 passed this evening. It nullifies Obamacare. What is shocking is the number of journalists who are convinced the State can't do this because the Constitution supersedes State law. We really need to fix the public education system next.

Great news

All we need now is for them to refuse to acknowledge the veto of the inevitable SCOTUS strike-down.

Obedience to God is resistance to tyrants.

time for me to get a little serious

for a moment ... I was looking at the FB comments since the crowning (not making my own comments on FB only looking) it dawned on me that besides the combo of hatred for Romney and Republicans and the celebration that their guy won - it is really sad that this is how amerikins view this whole thing - like a world series or superbowl ... it is rah rah for our guy and na na na na hey hey hey goodbye to the loser ... but my ultimate thought is this and I write this with misty eyes - no one is pausing for even a moment in the excitement - that this means four more years of war and death and who knows what else mixed with militarism. That is what is most sad. Iran? WW3 ? Both?

Dear Reince, Two Turkeys Don't Make an Eagle

Mr. Priebus, the GOP establishment owns this loss lock, stock & barrel.

The party is weak and we are coming for you. The revolution has only begun. You better be looking over your shoulder.
