What's your best (realistic) scenario for the Election, and why?Submitted by KurtA on Tue, 11/06/2012 - 03:31
It appears that either Obama or Romney will win the election tomorrow.
I'm thinking the best outcome would be an Obama win - but not because I like Obama.
Realistically, Gary Johnson and Ron Paul (as a write-in) have no chance. But that does not mean you should not vote for them. I personally voted for Johnson in early voting. But given the realities, THIS time around, it will be Obama or Romney - and I think Obama would be the better choice for the following reasons:
1) He made this mess - he should own it. His "Bush did it" excuse won't fly in 2014. And that's important because,
2) The dollar is headed for a crash. Personally, I think we'll be lucky to go another year - but it could be a couple years before the dollar isn't worth a penny (again). When that happens, I want Obama holding the bag. I don't want to see Romney standing among the ashes saying "Obama did it!" the way Obama has been saying, "Bush did it!"
3) An Obama win, especially by a thin margin, would stamp the importance of the Liberty movement on the forehead of every Republican neocon. The thinner the margin and the more votes cast for Ron Paul and Gary Johnson, the better. Suppose they get 3 million votes, and Romney loses by a scant 10,000 votes. The message, loud and clear to the Republicans is, "You can't take us for granted anymore. We're tired of your crap and we're not going to vote for you anymore until you clean up your act! And by the way - you cannot win without us."
4) A thin Obama win would also make it more difficult for Obama to carry out his socialist agenda. Ideally, Romney would have a thin win in the popular vote, and Obama would win the electoral college vote by a single vote. Then the politicians can spend 4 years fighting over whether anyone "has a mandate" instead of getting any new (horrible) legislation passed and in 2015 & 2016, as we're trying to pick up the pieces following the economic crash, we can spend two years telling EVERYONE, "We told you so! Are you ready to give freedom a chance?"
I am not confident that America will survive 4 more years of Obama. A lot of that will be up to us, the citizens. But I also doubt that Romney would do anything substantially different from Obama (except maybe to go to war with Iran sooner). Having a new president would just make it that much harder to assign accountability for the fall of America.
So what do you think? Can anyone think of a better (realistic) outcome? Have I missed anything in my analysis?
