If Romney Loses, How Many Paul Votes Could He Have Had, If He Played Nice?

If Romney wins, it will be a mute question, but if Romney loses, how many Ron Paul people would have voted for him , if he had had more respect for Ron Paul people at the convention and during the primaries ? I think there were 2 million people that were for Ron Paul if not more. Obviously some would never have voted for Romney irregardless. What is your mathematical guess on how many votes Romney lost ? I know he lost my vote.

If he had won fair and square ...

... and had been gracious all along, I might have voted for him if I felt it made a difference. After all, Obama deserves to be kicked out of office, and Romney would have demonstrated that he'd listen to us and be respectful and maybe even adopt some liberty points and had read the Constitution or something. As it was, he had demonstrated his political character enough for me to never vote for him, even if I had been in a swing state.

"Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." -- Thomas Paine

Our influence and enthusiasm is far greater than our voting #s

He didnt just lose our votes he lost our ability to get others excited about him. But really that's a two part equation. You have to have something for us to be excited about in order to excite others. In fact his actions reaped the exact opposite, we went out of our way to discourage people from voting for him because of his treachery. He and those who supported him who seek to blame others have only themselves to blame for this loss.

Mute point though because like was mentioned below. Trick question.
If he would have played nice and not cheated he wouldnt have "won" the nomination. Cheaters may win, but cheaters never prosper.

If he played by the RULES, Ron Paul would have been nominee...

or God forbid, Rick Santorum.

Bumpity bump bump

My sentiments exactly!

The mafia does not know how to play by the rules.

They are brute beasts and it is all that they know.

If he had played nice

He would not be the nominee. Romney was brought in to beat back the so-called "tea party", using whatever means necessary.

I still can not get past how blatantly he flipped on so many issues just to garner the religious right conservative republican vote (now that's a mouthful).

He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (James 1:8)

No confidence, no trust, no way.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

Same percentage that voted for McCain.

The government murders, tortures, imprisons and violates personal privacy and property no matter who is President. That is what I've watched since 1964.

Free includes debt-free!

It wouldn't matter how nice Mitt was.

To gain my vote he would have to change, like, ALL of his positions. Actually, really just a few key issues: the drug war, the foreign wars, and the Fed.

Doug Wead from Ron's campaign gave the figures

that Ron Paul supporters were over 30% of the GOP voting block about 5 months ago.

That puts it at around 9 Million+

My own figures were 10 1/2 million at that time and I think he was being safe. I think we were at least 35%.

November 6th 2012 I voted for Dr.Ron Paul
"We must remember, elections are short-term efforts. Revolutions are long-term projects." ~ Ron Paul

Is there any basis in reality

Is there any basis in reality for these percentages? Or just "gut feeling".

Well Doug Weads blog is wide open for comments and questions

on his posts there and he is also contactable on facebook. I took him at his word and I do not believe he would fabricate numbers.I think they are on the money.

Ask him if you would like.

I still wouldn't have voted

I still wouldn't have voted for the clown, but I wouldn't have been filled with such rage.

It's a Trick Question

If Romney had played fairly, he'd never have "won" the nomination.

I think you hit it on the nail.

I never thought of it that way. You have a point there.

30% wasn't enough to stop Romney

Too bad so many folks run away from a good fight when we got hit.. so we got hit.. no time to quit.

They started cheating in Iowa

And they spent billions to whitewash and blackout Ron Paul. The zombies never had the chance to hear the message of liberty. The TV said it was a kooky idea.

Nevertheless, Mitt and the RNC have proven themselves dishonest and worse.

But it makes no difference moving forward. State GOP parties are defunct since their money isn't needed anymore. They just want your vote.

It is going to be an uphill battle moving forward. Start the War with Iran. Send in the zombies. That's what all "great" leaders do to take people's minds off their incompetence.

No matter who wins, we'll be sorry.

Free includes debt-free!

Who cares what THEY want?

This is about what WE want. We want to restore the republic.. and that's what we are going to do in the GOP.

But the GOP is just one way. Someone suggested that their may be 30 million of us or more.

Full Court Press. Liberty is the goal in a party or without it.

We can't fix government. Government isn't a necessary evil it is necessarily evil.

Big government equals big evil. Or as Yuri Maltsev remarked, Big government means big socialism. Small government means less socialism and a little more liberty.

We have a lot of work to do!

Free includes debt-free!

Well, he really never

had a shot at my vote anyway. If he had played fair, it wouldn't have made a bit of difference to me.

If Romney had played nice

I would have voted for Ron Paul.

Thereby Romney was correct in his assessments to play ruff.

Thereby if Romney wanted to win the nomination, he had to take out Ron Paul. But he still needed at least some of the Paul votes, who would have voted for him rather then Obama. That could have helped Romney get a little closer to winning. But then Providence sent the hurricane Sandy, so the fates did not agree to have Romney as President.

i wrote in ron paul

if romney and the rnc would have played by the rules, i would have voted for ron paul, as he would have been the nominee.

NDAA = No Vote for Romney

The debate where Romney said he would sign NDAA in a heartbeat along with a number of other anti-liberty positions lost him many RP votes. Who did I vote for? Ron Paul of course!

If people write in Ron Paul we can begin to get a partial answer to this question.

What if....

The way I see it, if the primary were seen as a sporting event and the judges were wanting to protect the integrity of the game the winning team would have been disqualified for cheating and the trophy would have been given to someone else.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand.
And those who have not heard shall understand.

old_aldy, you are right. He should have been disqualified.

If the Republican party was HONEST , they should have disqualified Romney. So much for the fundamental Christian influence in the Republican party. They say you will know one by their friends. The Republican party allowed cheating and promoted cheating and did nothing to stop it. They got what they deserved. You reap what you sow. The 10 commandments say Thou shall not steal. That means dishonest weights (machines/methods etc). But the Fundamentla Christians in the party allowed the cheating , lying, flip-flopping, white lies, black lies, assault, broken bones, nazi tactics etc. This means you too, Mr. Priebus !

Good question. Not mine

Good question. Not mine though.

Is this because he did not have the vote to lose in the .......

first place? If so, I concur.
