What is Likely to Occur Between 2012 and 2016

The establishment will push Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, or candidate(s) x. I have in recent days promoted Rand Paul needs to be close advocates with Marco Rubio. People on Daily Paul may or may not like Rubio on issues or even believe he is eligible. The liberty movement needs to reach out the Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and a few Mitt Romney type voters. The key is for the 9.7 million anti Romney vote to stay unified and even try to pickup 100k of the 9.8-10 million establishment Republican voters. The establishment wins again if it is successful splits up the conservative vote again in 2016 if the fiscal candidate runs, the social conservative runs, the national security first runs, and the liberty candidate runs or a combination of each. If the establishment candidate wins again as the last two Presidential cycles the GOP loes the general election again. If Rand Paul could reach out to Chris Christie maybe that is a solution, but probably not very likely option. Anyways, the liberty movement needs to raise 85 million versus forty million in 2016 to compete.

maybe, maybe not.

The Republican establishment now realizes that they can't win without Libertarians. The corrupt establishment will be reaching out to us.

Though not irredeemable...

..Rand is deeply mortgaged. His failure to oppose sanctions on Persian innocents, as well as his pre-convention endorsement of Slick Willard put him in serious arrears in his libertya capital account. Of course, I don't rule out his possible redemption, so I suppose I could live with (and vote for) a Rand (top or bottom) ticket.

However, at this point, I'm still holding out for The Good Doctor and The Iron Man.

I'm with ya 100%. But,

for two million of us to push for Rand Paul 2016 isn't going to be enough to help him win. Even Rand's not powerful enough to defeat Limbaugh, Hannity, and Levin.

However, if we put our heads together and begin a massive, nation-wide, red state, four-year educational blitz, by 2016, the majority of the Republican sheep won't be sheep any more and what Rand says will resonate with them over what Neocons say. BUT, WE'VE GOT TO START IN 2012!!!

I'm not with ya, but I agree with what Dixie says.

I'm not voting for anyone in

I'm not voting for anyone in 2016, I don't care if it's Ron Paul himself. So f*cking done with trying to fix this system. Time to start from scratch.

If you favor a non electorate solution

If you favor a non electorate you know what to do. I still wish you would volunteer, donate, and vote in the 2016 Republican Primary.

I'm not volunteering,

I'm not volunteering, donating, or voting for anyone or anything having to do with the Republican party so long as I live. If you think we're really going to fix this mess through campaigns and votes and moneybombs and all that jazz, then you clearly didn't learn much this election season. You can continue beating the dead horse all you want, but in my opinion, our energy would be much better spent staying steps ahead of the establishment. Of what use will this system or the Republican party be when the dollar collapses? That's what we need to be planning for. Not another bullshit election.

Most Interesting Post Of The Day

Maybe the solution is to move out of the country then?

The solution, in my mind, is

The solution, in my mind, is education. Whether anyone wants to do that in this country or not is of no matter to me.

But in terms of the more immediate goals of those that are already awake, I think we need to transition away from the approach of trying to stop the economic collapse, as I believe that it is now inevitable, and toward an approach that strategizes how we will act during the collapse in order to be able to come out on top in a post collapse world.

Great point. To me that's why Ron Paul truly is an American hero. He went to the public and made the case for limited government, why it's important, what the intentions of the founders were, etc. Education absolutely *is* the only way to effect real change.

I mentioned in other posts, however, that the fastest way to wake up the population in general would be if Sept 11th were exposed as an inside job (assuming it actually was an inside job). I can't think of anything (well, maybe the economic collapse that's coming) that would make people question everything.

I totally agree, and I

I totally agree, and I believe I've seen your posts saying something to that effect.

Open minded.

Open minded, want to see how he develops. Keeping an eye on Benton, Olson and others who he may surround himself with. Always a good indicator.

Voting Doesn't Work

What does it take to get that through people's heads? Didn't what happened with the GOP and RNC teach you people anything? What about "Hacking Democracy"? Did any of you watch it? What about what happened to the Ron Paul campaign? What about Blackbox voting? Don't you get it? We can't VOTE our way out of this mess! It's got to start from the bottom up! Mat Larson has it right. He is running for city council and going from there. You can vote all day for Rand or Gary or anyone else. "They" will only rig the game again. I'll probably get voted down a lot for saying this but it's the truth and until everyone realizes that and changes their thinking then nothing will ever change. Vote me down all you want. It's the only voting you get to do that shows up anywhere!

Voting Versus Electorate Reality

I believe the key is that the majority of general election voters are straight ticket or low information voters. I do firmly believe Rand Paul have obtain the ten million votes to win the primary if he grows beyond the liberty movement base. Say the liberty movement grows from 2 to 4 million it is still six million short of the nomination. Saying the voting is rigged does not face the strategy that people do not place a lot of time in who they will vote for.

rand needs a longer, more consistent conservative record

He would have to do a lot by 2016 to get my vote.

He needs to especially drop some big truth bombs.

I'm with you. We need a

I'm with you. We need a website. We need to reach out to him and let him know that the people need him. Unless of coarse Ron runs again.

I'd absolutely vote for him

But I don't think I could possibly be as anywhere near as enthusiastic about him as about Ron. Of course, I still hope that he's doing a good job of tricking us all and will turn into Ron once elected. Even if not though, I'm sure he'd be a WAAAAY better choice than the Obamney types. Rand is still very good overall and we can't lose sight of that. But again, there's something about the way he speaks that bothers me. Maybe it's that he sounds like he's talking down to the listening audience like a scolding teacher would. Not sure.

I need to hear more from him...

other than being Ron's son.

I am with you

seems the Libs won't. We need a site though.

Maybe Ron and Rand will take Michael out for a nice dinner...

...and let Jesse Benton chauffeur them around while they talk him into reconsidering this 2016 gig.

I seem to recall Michael getting upset (doesn't happen often) back in the day 2007 and Ron had to make a personal appeal to him... they talked through the concern on the phone... and then Michael came back to us all making a nice post about it all and how in the end Ron was right, again.

The great thing about Michael Nystrom is that he can be reasoned with... and we have a lot of time for Ron to work on him between now and 2016.

I have hope and I know that when Ron Paul explains to Michael the situation with Rand... well, Ron is generally always right about things once it is explained by him and you learn to think it through in the same way he reasons through it all.

As a Libertarian

I can't defend Rand Paul's positions. I'd probably vote for him, trying to steer our party in the right direction, but I couldn't fight for him.

I would probably vote for Rand...

if he was the GOP nominee, but in 2016 I would in all likely hood I would vote for the Constitution Party nominee because the Libertarian Party will nominate someone I won't like.

Ron/Rand Paul 2016! Constitution Party 2016!

People who bury themselves in the endorsment

Are just spiteful, IMHO. Look at the way the man votes, that's all that matters. I personally believe Rand Paul will be a lot more effective than Ron Paul at garnering support for his bills, as long as it's the right bills I don't give a shit what he does outside of congress to garner support for them.

I didn't want to hit the reply to point out the error. Glad you saw it and corrected it! Now I can +1 and agree wholeheartedly.

I Don't Want to Bash Rand, but....

...He's going to have to do something really impressive over the next few years if he wants to regain my trust. Basically, EVERY SINGLE vote he casts has to be how Ron would have voted; No war, no sanctions, no taxes, no free pass for the FED. Outside of that, no hobnobbing with neocons, no couching his positions in militarist rhetoric.

If he can manage that for the next few years (which is doubtful) then I'll support him. If he is simply the least bad of a hundred Senators (not a high bar at all) he'll have to seek support elsewhere.

My question to the anti-Rand faction is this...

What will you say when(if) he runs in 2016 and his father endorses him?

Will Ron Paul then be thrown on your list of "sell outs"?

Look, I was not happy with his endorsement of Romney either, but when you take a step back and look at the bigger picture it really is small potatoes...and yes,the same can be said for the pitiful display of allegiance that was him on the campaign trail. None of this will matter in future history books, but his voting record will.
