Dear GOP, We Told Ya So!Submitted by FSUJAG54 on Wed, 11/07/2012 - 09:27
We told you that if you cheated to foist your uncharismatic and unpopular candidate upon us that he could not win.
We told you he was too similar to Obama. So similar, in fact, that he could not challenge Obama on his weak spots--foreign policy, bailouts, RobamaCare, civil liberties, etc.
We told you that he had no real support, other than the "anyone but Obama" vote, and that that wasn't enough to defeat Obama... in spite of what a weak incumbent he was. We told you that we wouldn't vote for Romney and we didn't. Now look at what you've done. You've torn the party apart, chased many of the young people off to the Libertarian Party or into independent status. You've ruined your already-tarnished reputation by cheating your own members.
Where you should've punished those in the state parties who cheated, you rewarded them with promotions into the national party ranks [see the heads of the ME and LA parties for an explanation on this].
You left the liberty wing of the party (which represents 100% of the growth and enthusiasm, not to mention the most educated and informed membership) so frustrated and angry that we rooted against your anointed candidate.
Well done, GOP leadership. You have nobody to blame but yourselves.
You better pray enough of us are willing to try to rebuild this party now, instead of jumping off of this sinking ship. You better dig deep and realize the error of your ways. No, the REAL error of your ways--not that Romney chose the wrong running mate, that Obama cheated, or any other excuse you'll concoct and spread over the airwaves on Fox News or Rush Limbaugh.
Recognize that you ostracized the man who started the tea party, which won a lot of elections for the GOP in 2010.
Recognize that you ostracized the man who (arguably) started the Occupy movement. Recognize that you ostracized the man who woke up a generation and changed the nature of the GOP (and in many ways the general) debates.
Recognize that your lying cheating ways caused all of this. Then step aside and let us do the work that we started in 2007.
If you REALLY care about this country and this party you'll resign now, admit your wrongs, and do everything you can to help us turn this party around. We tried your way and it didn't work.
Step aside, GOP. We'll take it from here.
