Will we ever have another Republican president?

I have a friend that told me it will be impossible to elect a Republican president again because the amount of people dependent on social programs will outnumber the rest of the populace....

I haven't seen any statistics on this... does anybody have any insight? I have never heard this argument before...

The GOP's chances of ever winning again look bleak right now...

but it has nothing to do with Obama. The GOP brought this upon themselves.

A whole generation of young voters who grew up with Bush-era neoconservatism hasn't forgotten Dubya's wars, overspending, and liberty-grabbing, nor do they like the neocons' Bible-thumping, racist, out-of-touch, proudly-ignorant "buzzkill/nag" persona.

The downside, though, is that a lot of young voters aren't experienced enough with politics to be cynical yet. They fell for the Obama hype. Their heart is in the right place, but the solution they're voting for isn't what they think it is. These are the people the liberty movement should especially be marketing to before that voting bloc becomes set in their ways.

I don't play, I commission the league.

Not as they are today.

The party is too divided along constitutional lines.

Republicans are a dying

Republicans are a dying party, they self-destructed during the 2012 primaries with nutcase candidates like Santorum and crazy media personalities like Orilley and Hannity. I personally feel that in the next few decades with the baby boomer generation going away and the younger technological and tolerant generation having more influence the democratic party will grow too big and splinter into two secular parties, a moderate one and a more liberal/socialist one. The moderate one will likely have many libertarian leanings.

There are plenty of Republicans who support social programs

Paul Ryan - Medicare part D
Willard - RomneyCare

just to name a couple.

The Republican label doesn't really matter - reminds me of when GM slapped a Cadillac emblem on a Cavalier and tried to sell Cimarrons.

Lets hope not.

Lets hope not.

This is something to think

This is something to think about. He may have a R next to his name but he may not be pure bred Republican.
