Now Is Our Time. Become The Republican Party!

Romney's loss is our time to shine! Your local county GOP meetings are likely going to have low turnout over the next few months and those that do show up are going to have questions and looking for answers, and it's up to us to gently educate them show them a path to victory! However, simply being registered Republican is not enough to change the GOP into a party that reflects our visions and philosophies. To change it and win we have to be engaged and become the Republican Party.

To do this we have to get involved in our county and state GOP. If you're not already, google your state GOP - like this if you're in Florida - http://rpof.org/contact-us/find-your-local-rec/ - and find out when and where your county meetings are held, and then go! It's very easy to become a PCO here in Florida and I'm sure the equivalent in your state is easy to make happen too. When you become a PCO you have voting rights on who your county GOP office holders are, and if you bring enough of your friends to these meetings and they bring enough of their friends, (it doesn't take a lot, it's amazing how few people are involved and how easy this can be) your county will be run by you and your friends when 2014 rolls around, and then we work to make the state leadership ours from there hopefully before 2016, and when we take the state parties, we take the RNC from there. We can do this, it just takes getting involved and going to a meeting once a month or so, sometimes they are even interesting and not punishment! Imagine how much better they will be when we are running the show and setting the agenda and deciding which speakers we want to invite to speak at the monthly meeting! Imagine Tom Woods, Tisha Casida, Josh Tolley, Mary Ruwart and Ben Swann on county GOP meeting tours!

The Republican Liberty Caucus http://www.rlc.org/ is a great way to network with people in your area too and help each other run your local county GOP. I had great fun at the RLC events I've been to and look forward to more. I also suggest getting to know people in your local Libertarian Party, it doesn't hurt to go to their meetings too if they exist...let them know you're making inroads in your county GOP and you need their help!

With us running the show, liberty candidates in 2014 and 2016 will not only not have the problems Ron Paul and others have had, they will have us in very strong positions to support them from. We can do this! Viva la revolution Ron Paul RepubliCANS!

All that said - It's OK if you don't feel comfortable working within the GOP, I still love you! I just think this is the most effective way for the revolution to move forward and grow, but your path and all paths are OK in my book!

Hinojosa is tough to beat in

Hinojosa is tough to beat in your redrawn district, especially this year with the O-bomba' on the ballot, but that's just the Congressional election, there's a better chance in the state legislature. That's a smaller district and therefore much easier to saturate with campaign advertising.

If there's county party elections going on now, be at those meetings even if you don't have voting rights. Ask how you can become a voting member of the Republican party, you won't be able to do it right away so don't be disappointed when they tell you that, just get the information and STAY FOR THE WHOLE MEETING. Show them that you're in it for the long haul and don't be disruptive or a jerk if they pull all kinds of tricks at this meeting. Continue going to meetings and being polite, involved and think before you open your mouth and say things that people won't understand.

When the time comes become a voting member, whatever that's called in your state or area.

Learn the boundaries of your district(s), State Senate and State House, also school and water districts, city ward boundaries, etcetera, NOW. Start connecting with liberty people in your area and recruit the best candidates from among your ranks when it comes time to file for the next election.

There are elections to various things EVERY YEAR, whether it's school board, water board or neighborhood board in a city. Every bit of experience adds up to knowing WHAT TO DO as you move forward toward the goal of changing things in your county, state and our country.

Winning the Republican Nomination

I don't know Texas rules, but here in CA, winning the Republican nomination for state and federal races makes you a member of the state republican party and you get to appoint additional members from your district as well.

Winning the [chair of] County Parties and winning the nomination in Blue districts in 2014 will allow a change in direction of the state party.

In 2012, we did not have candidates for all the seats, Finding candidates to win the nomination in these unwinnable seats is my goal for 2014.

If you can't beat them, join

If you can't beat them, join them.

Find someone who is willing to run as a way left democrat to win their primary. Then when they win, they vote as if they were a libertarian. If they lose, same thing.

Hey, they created the illusion of choice....why can't we?

We have a tough enough time

We have a tough enough time winning primaries in one party, spending twice the time and effort to win 2 primaries is foolish, not to mention will get you in trouble as a "spy" or "traitor" with members of both parties.

You're not really thinking it through all the way, though it seems like wisdom.

If someone wants to do the same thing in the Democrat party that I'm doing in the GOP, more power to them, we need liberty people in both parties. I'm just saying that the same person shouldn't be trying to work candidates through both parties; people will not trust you when they find out you're doing that. It's simply part of human nature or Human Action, something that students of Mises and Hayek should be learning.

Let me clarify...

You mean that two Libertarians both run for the same seat, one as a Democrat, the other as a Republican, and whichever one wins, the Constitution will be honored instead of violated?

Exactly. It's a lot like what

Exactly. It's a lot like what they did with this year's Presidential election, except we do it for the common good instead of with malicious intent.

We had the same problem here in MN.. The necon

in the Republican party wont support the Liberty Candidate they will vote for the Democratic.

Case in point for Kurt Bills endorsed by Ron Paul.

My cousin runs a BPOU and was RP delegate as well.

Here's what happen in his district and others.

Registered voters was 1200

700 Romney Votes because he's more Liberal neocon.

500 Obama Votes.

However Kurt Bills received 500 Votes while Amy K. received 700.

We still have Liberal Rhinos in our Party in the GOP Party Central that didn't help one bit or help will funding those candidates.

Second thing is the Liberty minded candidate next time around has to start meeting with these minority groups and telling them why they stand for Liberty. You need to educate the minority classes in which we started to do and a lot of different minority classes are starting to wake up to these message. We did improve our #s in this area this election cycle in MN.

But if we are going to have any success people have to get involved and you can't wait until 2016 election season.

A lot of their fair weather

A lot of their fair weather friends are going to be leaving the GOP in mass exodus. Think about it, a lot of them felt that this victory was in the bag. To see that failure, a lot of them are going to say "why bother?" Two losses in a row and they are probably going to quit coming. We need to fill that void.

All politics are local. We may not win a Presidential position in 2016, but we can do our best to gain super-majorities in the legislative branch of government. If we control 75% of both bodies of Congress, then we are veto-proof against any President. We won 8 out of 11 Paul-endorsed candidates to the house. All budgets originate in the House of Representatives. If we have Ron Paul Republicans in control of the House, we can propose a budget that will fix this issue. The President can recommend a budget, but we can recommend a finger right back. We create the budget, it's as simple as that.

Focus on winnable races. Identify those Congressional Districts that are slightly Democrat-leaning to capture disaffected Democrats. Moneybomb those candidates we choose in those districts.

Most importantly, we need to identify the battlefield. Which races in 2012 cost the least for a candidate to win? Which races take the fewest votes? Should we run Democrats in those races as well so we win the general either way once the midterm primary is over? Should we focus on state-level elections? How hard is it to take over the legislative bodies of various states? Where are our resources physically located?

Yes, the goal should be to

Yes, the goal should be to steer the republican party towards a primary focus on fiscal conservatism because this is the major challenge for the country in the future. Avoid social conservatism and military conservatism, which confuses the electorate who do not think government in the bedroom and militarism are conservative.

While good men do nothing....

It's how we got here.

are the tip of the spear.
What good is a weapon
if it is cast aside?

We have 4 years, soldiers, and a target.
The sooner we get moving
the better.

Run for office.
(Don't be shy :) )

It feels like the old election process is dead.

Doing the GOP DEM two party dance again seems so "been there done that" and totally futile.

The INTEREST groups will have every election sewn up and the people no longer have a say in anything. BUT the people will pay for everything, while getting poorer by the day.

At the present time I have no faith in any party or the rigged election process.

Giving up isn't an option and that's what your defeatist

words say to me.

Civil war isn't something I look forward to and that is what will happen if we don't succeed. All is not lost as your words seem to imply.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

Is there a way to get rid of fixed elections?

and media propaganda, and media blocking honest candidates like Ron Paul?

This issue cannot be ignored. As long as the above still holds true, no honest person can win.

I have some ideas

but you tell me what you think we can do instead of pissing ourselves and giving up.

Whether it is Hillary or George P. Bush, in 2016 the special interest groups will win again.

This issue cannot be ignored.
Is there a way to get rid of fixed elections? and media propaganda, and media blocking honest candidates like Ron Paul? That needs to be focused on FIRST.

Even RP said recently he has no confidence in the political system and never did. I guess my contribution will be educating people, as RP is doing.

People want to know what the answer is.

So what's your answer to the problem? If people believe like you do, that voting is a waste of time then educating them isn't going to do much good unless you can lay out ideas to combat that.

So what are your ideas?

I do not know a way to get rid of fixed elections

media propaganda, and media blocking honest candidates like Ron Paul. These people do not play by honest rules, and are capable of murder to get what they want.

So how do YOU plan to win against these odds?

Keep the pressure on.

One thing I tried to promote early on was a vote counting system so we could keep track of the polling but amazingly the only people interested in doing that were the people who wanted to stop it by circumventing the process. :)

I can only come up with the ideas.. if people are too lazy to work at it then of course it won't work.

Media? Form a SuperPac so you can raise money now for 2016 adds. Next year they'll try more of the same but we grew by 1 million people this year... that said in an economy like this we could use big donors.

On a smaller scale, you could do local advertising.. Which I did in local newspapers. I also did adds through google. It didn't cost more than 150 for my adds.. now imagine if 1 million people ALL did adds at the same time. Unless google doesn't want the revenue, they'll gladly run it. Can you say GoogleAddBomb?

There are always options and multitudes of them so instead of griping about what we can't do in those situations, focus on what you can do.

It always seems to be that 90% of the people in

a group never know what the best way forward is.. especially when their "leader" has finished his main run. Many think because Dr.Paul didn't get the presidency that we didn't accomplish anything and they're dead wrong.

Lots of people are butthurt over what the RNC did but they'd have to had blinders on not to see it coming as a possibility. There were a few of us that tried to tell people to expect something along that line even while we tried to spread hope.

We've accomplished so much so turning our backs to the plan that Dr.Paul wants and knows will work after it gave us the many victories that we see now, is irresponsible. What good does it do to flood their ranks in an attempt to right what is wrong if you turn tale and run when the first big setback occurs.

You might as well be telling them that what they did worked.
