Warning :- There are duplicate petitions for at least Missouri, Georgia, Ohio, SC, Utah, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Virginia (if you are going to vote, it is probably best to sign the one with the higher number of existing signatures - or sign both).
If you have already voted please check which petition for these states you have voted on.

As of 12:46 am, Sunday, signatures obtained by Louisiana 7,358; Texas 3,771; Florida 636; Georgia 475; Alabama 834; North Carolina 792; Kentucky 467; Mississippi 475; Indiana 449; North Dakota 162; Montana 440; Colorado 324; Oregon 328; New Jersey 301 and New York 169. The Texas petition reads as follows:

The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government’s neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it’s citizens’ standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.

Some numbers
If we could get millions of people on these petitions - THAT WOULD send out a message loud and clear.

Even better get more signatures on these petitions than voted for Obama.
A tough ask.

However approximately :-

90+ million people didn't vote.
63 million voted for Obama.
60 million voted AGAINST him.

Turn it into a referendum on whether Americans really want Obama and his policies, or this Federal government, or something else.
Let's have a PROPER DEBATE about how this country should be run.
There wasn't one in the election - both the candidates had near enough the same policies.

A very substantial number of people that voted for Obama, didn't actually want him and would prefer something else.
I bet more than half.

Potential signatories who probably agree with the motion/referendum 180 million.
Your job is to go out and help get 65 million of them to sign.
Are you up for a challenge?

Go out and get some of the many millions who didn't see any point in voting, because neither of the extremist parties offer any solutions and won't make ANY difference.
Go out and get the 60 million who voted for Romney.
Go out and get the 1 million who voted Gary Johnson and probably at least as many who wrote in Ron Paul.

Go out and get some of the people who voted for Obama as the lesser of 2 evils.

Let's run that by you again.
At LEAST 2 million of you wrote in Ron Paul or voted Gary Johnson.
All you have to do is go and get 30 others each to sign the petition (non RP voters). Does that sound too hard for you?
Go and ask your Ron Paul supporting friends to do the same.

Go out and get some - MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
People have nothing to lose for voting yes to this referendum.
They have everything to gain.

Let the people's voice be heard for a change.

If your state hasn't got a petition yet, why don't you start one?
You will need 150 local signatories to get the ball rolling and it appears on the net.

Lobby prominent Ron Paul supporters to support this effort.
I have asked Judgenap to try and get it out on Fox.
I am asking Doug Wead whether he will support it.

This comment below from Speciallyblend sums up my feelings on the matter exactly
http://www.dailypaul.com/262715/15-states-start-petitions-to...

"duh folks, this petition is to bring to light the frustration and expose the gov corruption in any shape or form. Legit state petitions are possibly forming. It can help expose the establishment. everyone trying to reference it can't be done or arguing reasons are missing the point. This is coming out of voter frustration and a tipping point. It is a great way to expose the gop est corruption to folks who might not of known. It is also a great way to let folks know obama/romney are the same.

Use it how you will but don't argue over the main point. Use all angles and all means to expose the corruption. This is just a vehicle 25000 sigs and obama has to respond by his own website. of course he will say no or whatever excuse to keep the establishment in power but it helps expose the establishment corruption to some degree and that is all that is needed.

If folks are so upset about an online petition. Wonder how they will feel when real ones start showing up with the correct amount of sigs in states such as colorado nevada and many others, delivered to their sec of state! If it happens or not, it helps expose!!"

TY I have updated the header with your info

:)

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

You signed a petition to secede on a government

website?

Insane?

You do realize if you weren't on a target list before, you are now right? And most likely on a high priority list at that.

I'd venture you soon will be on the no-fly list as well. Can't have secessionist terrorists flying now can we?

Anyone signing those "petitions" is a fool. You just selected yourself out of the gene pool.

No.7's picture

You're a coward

Simple as that, Ron Paul would sign the petitions.

The individual who refuses to defend his rights when called by his Government, deserves to be a slave, and must be punished as an enemy of his country and friend to her foe. - Andrew Jackson

Proof?

I thought not.

Yes, Ron supports the idea of secession as a "tool to educate" people.

Specifically does he support Texas leaving the USA, and did he or would he sign the Whitehouse.gov petition for Texas? You'll have to ask him. But he has yet to indicate he would or has done so.

Your claim is, until then, baseless.

Signing these petitions is akin to groveling at the feet of the King.

Re-read that sentence again. Maybe it will shed light on who is a coward and who is not.

screw "the list"

Just for that you are on another list.

Keep it up, they got a lot of lists.

Be brave, be brave, the Myan pilot needs no aeroplane.

Do you believe our Founders

Do you believe our Founders were fools as well?

"The strength and power of despotism consists wholly in the fear of resistance” Thomas Paine

No, because they signed an actual document and backed it

up with force.

These people are groveling before the crown.

Our Founders didn't grovel.

They DECLARED their independence.

They didn't petition for King George to "let them go peacefully."

Only a fool grovels.

hate to tell ya ....

but if you are on Daily Paul, wrote in RP or voted for RP or GJ you are already on the list. Millions of us are on the list. I'm good.

Yes I know, but there's little room to equivocate off

of the petition.

Telling

The climate of attitudes is changing, and even though this act of petitioning the government didn't come from the state legislatures, the mere fact that people are considering their sovereign right of self-determination is a very healthy sign that our separate republics have a pulse.

Americans are absorbed in a culture of jingoism, hyper-nationalism, and misguided patriotism. They'll die for the poorly decorated piece of patterned fabric they refer to as 'Old Glory'. They love the songs of empire and happily recite their pledge of allegiance. These are all symbolic traps the government uses to keep them aligned with the program that is ripping them off wholesale and sending their sons to die in meaningless wars.

There are two ways off this Titanic of a sinking ship. Into the icy water. Or onto a life boat.

WELL SAID

If we could get millions of people on these petitions - THAT WOULD send out a message loud and clear.

Even better get more signatures on these petitions than voted for Obama.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

By your figures

150 million people didn't want Obama. His mandate came from about 20-30% of the voting public. That dismal figure is encouraging for us.

If millions did sign, the media spinners would say that 'secession' is only a code word used by racists who dislike having a president of mixed race.

Hopefully this isn't just about Obama, but an awakening to the fact that we cannot have our liberty while living under an empire!

I wish...

that Louisiana, Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, and North Dakota WOULD secede. They are among the most tax-dependent states in the nation and are neocon outposts.

I don't play, I commission the league.

Louisiana is not a neo-con outpost.

Yeah, we have some morons here, and some kool-aid drinkers, but not out of proportion to anywhere else.

I'd bet we have more people here who'd rather secede than people who want us out, especially when people elsewhere find out what Louisiana leaving means logistically for the rest of the nation.

Unfortunately, we're going to be the one State where the Feds start a war to keep us, or fight to the last man to avoid losing us. The Feds will never agree to letting go of control of the lower Mississippi River, or LOOP. (not to mention other pipeline facilities)

And while we do "get back" more in Federal money than we pay in taxes, there's a reason for that - the Feds are stealing our share of oil royalties and have for decades. Other State get 50%. We don't even get anywhere near that. The extra Federal funds we get over taxes don't even scratch the surface of how much we aren't getting in oil royalties. Boil it all down, and we aren't a "revenue-dependent" state at all. We're giving up more than we are getting back.

I can't speak for Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky or North Dakota. (though I've heard similar issues with oil in No. Dak.)

can anyone get exact links to

can anyone get exact links to the state petititons into this thread and op. I seee the article but cannot find the colorado petition? can someone make all the links in this op for each state.

Ron Paul 2016

The whitehouse petition

The whitehouse petition website is a joke, do any of them actually believe Obozo would listen to it, or anything legitimately submitted on there?. Maybe if someone petitioned defend Israel and bomb Iran they'd accept it in a heartbeat.

Southern Agrarian

misleading headline

This is hardly even news...these are just individuals, not the actions of the states.

why don't you try and help turn it into something newsworthy

You can't go back in time. But perhaps next time, you could lead with truth.

ummmm

Misleading/outright lying headline needs to be changed. 15 STATES did not petition the White House to secede. Individuals are NOT States and individuals are who filled out the online form at the whitehouse.gov website. For all we know, it was ONE individual that filled out 15 different forms. Soorcha fail'ish, world nut daily gutter garbage non-news that should, imo, be removed.

Can't you just join in with the msg of protest?

The headline says STARTS petitions.

The Texas petition is wonderfully worded.

It can't be one individual, you have to get 150 signatures before the petition is publicly available.

One individual might have suggested to some like minded individuals.
If that was the case, I say KUDOS to him/her.

At least he/she tried to DO something instead of just b*tching.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

I have absolutely no issue

I have absolutely no issue with states wishing to secede. However, no State HAS. YOU could go start a petition just like this one yourself with fake accounts as "signatures".

For all we know, some liberty hater started these petitions with the express purpose of creating an atmosphere of diviseness and hatred after the election. Stoke the fires of, "Anyone that wants to secede is a racist" etc etc.

Just drop it already. Nobody is seceding from anything and the message of protest is a moot point of idiocy imo.

When several state representatives actually step up and file claims of secession, give me a holler.

This is my fear, too....

as it was/is always the problem: all dissent aimed at Obama will be conveniently designated as racist/personally-based and not born of disapproval of his policy.

(And that's why he's the current PIC (Puppet-in-Chief), as most of us here know! Goddamn those crafty elites!)

What would the Founders do?

Private citizens

petitioning the WH for their states' sucession? OK, I get the political statement. Not as whopping news as advertised, however.

Would need to petition their own state legislatures first. And then state governments would have to act on the matter.

Unlikely.

NOT gonna happen in IN... that I can tell you; we like our docile stability and federal $$$ too much, regardless of who is in the WH.

What would the Founders do?

It's kinda fun though.

It is just like campaigning for RP for president. It wasn't about winning the head actor position (POTUS), it was about educating people about liberty. These petitions are more messages of dissent. I hope they go viral.

Most people won't know they

Most people won't know they exist. They would probably be taken down if they got too much attention.

I agree...

with you there!

I still think to say that "states" are seeking sucession is being overly sensational, however, and inaccurate. Media spin could be dangerous here, too. We'll see....

What would the Founders do?

But...but....but.... I wanted

But...but....but.... I wanted to move to dduckistan. I will be your neighbor it will be two lot sizes.

Ha!

That's not for fun, that's for real. And it is hereby renamed 'the free republic of Nighthawkeye-dduckistan'.
