To Romney and the GOP Elites: What comes around goes around

By Ron Holland | Market Oracle

On November 6th a large percentage of the Ron Paul supporters (10% of the GOP electorate) in the primary season exited the corrupt GOP voting process, stayed home, watched our television screens (like I did) and followed through with our warning to the GOP establishment. No Paul = No Vote in November.

Did you notice that during the many hours of broadcast news coverage of election night not one establishment news talking head mentioned what would have happened if Ron Paul supporters had voted en masse for the GOP and Mitt Romney? In fact, Ron Paul was never mentioned at all and they dared not even speak his name during the night's running commentary. The Paul factor was the elephant in the room the press had obviously been ordered to avoid in discussions at all costs.

The world knows how the Romney campaign and GOP establishment trashed Ron Paul and his supporters during the GOP primary season and in front of millions at the GOP national convention. Romney had the presidential nomination sewed up and had he treated the Paul voters with respect and reconciliation and added either Rand or Ron Paul on the ticket as I suggested in "No Paul = No Vote in November."

The Republican Party would have captured the Senate and the would have millions of young supporters promoting both the party and our freedom agenda. But this was not to be, due to the arrogance and animosity of the GOP big-wigs and the Republican operatives running the Romney campaign.

It amazes me that this all

It amazes me that this all transpired the way it did.

Excellent article. Glad to

Excellent article. Glad to see this because i had pointed out similar facts on another site. The Tea party and Ron Paul supporter will not go away but hopefully, the young voters who chose obama in 2008 and again this time will learn what the Tea Party represents and next time will vote for a candidate who has Americas best interest in mind. Not one who was full of failed policies and broken promises. Not one who is calling for a more "progressive living" constitution. They have to live with the results that are coming from their decision at the polls for four more years.

I TRIED to tell them - over and over

I was a Ron Paul delegate to my state convention and did all I could for Dr. Paul.

But I saw the cheating all throughout the election cycle from the early caucuses to the RNC convention.

But I was the KOOK and NUTJOB and the establishment thinkers were the correct ones - right up until election night.

The GOP/RNC got EXACTLY what they deserved and I am happy to have been a part of the protest vote.

Lots of DaiylPaulers didn't sanction my vote for Gary Johnson but who cares?

As long as you didn't vote for either Romney or Obama, you're alright with me.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."

Agreed. I was a delegate in

Agreed. I was a delegate in my state and the same things happened to us. We had blue across the board on election day and now the GOP is in an uproar and placing blame on the Libs instead of looking in the mirror.

When Fascism goes to sleep, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul!

Right on! Right on!

What a bunch of dumb asses in the GOP. They must have thought Romney we "energizing" the masses. Throughout the primary season, they should have been paying attention. It was all they could do to get people to attend Romney's events. Ron Paul had them packed to the rafters. Ha. Bad news for Mitt, he's toast as a Presidential possibility. He'll now be branded as tainted goods. Oh well, he's worth a couple of hundred million bucks. I think he'll get by just fine. He seems like a pretty nice guy and a capable manager, but he sure should have insisted on making nice with Ron Paul by inserting the "Audit the Fed" plank in the platform.

alan laney

i voted

No I did not vote for Rmoney, I went and voted for Scott Brown, and to vote yes for medical marijuana. I hope hell I wish Ron Paul would run agaisnt speaker boehner. Even though he didn't run it's still legal to have happen..

Rick Santorum: "So vote for Ron Paul"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vw4vbgPzG8

Thanks Rick. I think I will.

They wanted to cast liberty as a fringe element in America and the Republican Party. They wanted us to just not matter.

most of us....

...said way back, the choice of Romney was their vote FOR Obama.

Shutting us out of the convention as a nuisance was a speedbump, and a back-slapping "hahaha" that guys like Boehner and Lindsay Graham and the Fox News prime time anchors laugh about while fishing off the California coast.

Perhaps I was wrong about the blind followers of the old guard lashing out at us principled supporters of what our founders clearly communicated what the Republic stood for, and HOW its civic-minded holders of the "right" to vote were ONLY to propel true statesmen into public office to represent them; but...nonetheless...don't think for a moment they regret what they did, or, fear a future fight from our moral minority.

They have the plutocratic power to control those generations they have conditioned, and so many they are still conditioning today; in classic Marxist fashion of distraction, fostering disinterest, and financing divisions.

Focus on the INDIVIDUAL, not the collective; self-empowering knowledge, understanding, and motivation is PERSONAL...that's how we all arrived here...the GOP isstill enjoying their victory WITH Obama and their monetary plans to control everyone and everything.

So Where In The Hell Is The Other 20+% Doug Wead Mentioned?

Did they just dematerialize from planet earth?

This article is a slap in the face to Ron Pauls Senior Campaign Adviser Mr. Doug Wead and Ron Paul supporters everywhere. Doug Wead Veteran of 7 presidential campaigns stated in an interview that we were over 30% of the GOP.

This article is either craftily written to create discouragement by using the 10% number or the author is just out of the loop.

Either way I am furious that it is here because it has no basis in reality.

And it's on the front page. Just pathetic for this site.

November 6th 2012 I voted for Dr.Ron Paul
"We must remember, elections are short-term efforts. Revolutions are long-term projects." ~ Ron Paul

Your scope is too small.

OP writes: "On November 6th a large percentage of the Ron Paul supporters (10% of the GOP electorate) in the primary season exited the corrupt GOP voting process," but doesn't seem to realize that it wasn't just 10% of the GOP that would have voted for Ron Paul, LOTS of anti-war and (sigh...) anti-businessman people from the Democrat side would have voted for him too.

I hope you saw how the Republicans were caught completely susprised because they didn't expect much of a vote from young people. And those young people (under 25) voted nearly 80% for Obama. They certainly would NEVER vote for Romney. But if Ron Paul was offered I bet we would have captured a LOT of that vote. And remember, every vote converted from Democrat to Republican is actually like two votes in the contest, one away from Obama, and one toward the Republican.

The GOP doesn't get it

It's not just they burned Ron Paul and his supporters--which alone would have been enough for me to abandon them forever---, they committed political self-immolation of the delegate process that forever sealed shut GOP's access to fresh recruits more politically savvy their forebears. The GOP got away co-opting Ron Paul's original Tea party movement, and thought they had a lock-on, when all they did was kill the goose that laid the golden egg.

All along during Ron Paul's campaign the younger generation Paul inspired was ignored and derided by these old men of the GOP. Fools! What did they thing would happen to the Republicans demographics 4 years, 8 years and to infinity and beyond? That these RP supporters today would forgive and forget? Especially when many were politically apathetic in the first place, and it took someone like Ron Paul to get them to overcome their disillusionment with the political system?!?!

This is where "politics" fails time and again--It always employs a short-term, compromising expedient action that forever burns the future with unintended consequences. The GOP threw the last of any political capital they had into the bonfire of vanity, and now all they have left is ashes.

the GOP elites don't care...

the GOP elites don't care... they would rather see Obama in office then Ron Paul.. they are laughing at you.

ytc's picture

Well, GOP elites can laugh at us all they want: the fact remains

that, as R Holland writes, "We will still be here in 2014 and 2016 and we will still be fighting for freedom" . . . with or without GOP.

Stayed Home

and glad I did.

Don't feel any more or less hosed now that BO was re-elected as dictator than if Rmoney had been.

The GOP crushed Ron Paul for one very apparent reason: fear. Not truth, reason, moral righteousness, the good of the American People, motherhood or apple pie. It's fear - of losing their place of power and prestige to the man who genuinely commands the moral high ground - Ron Paul.

F the GOP. Oh and yeah the Dems too, for that matter.

Same here

one thing going through my mind that day is Obama might not get us into a war with Iran as easily as Williard. Romney was totally in support of the zionist push to bomb Iran.

RP R3VOLution

My Vote

I was undecided as what to do in retaliation of the GOP for their betrayal of RP.
At the last minute I voted for Gary Johnson, instead of Obummer, why not? I live in Nevada so I wanted Berkley out of office, Heller was my only option. The lesser of two evils, so to speak. One out of two, oh well!

dave anderson

DID YOU ALSO NOTICE

That they are already discussing 2016 and there's no mention of Rand.
"Rubio can give us the Hispanic vote"... "Ryan has set himself up for 2016" That one is laughable since he couldn't even deliever his own state. Maybe Rand will now see it gains you nothing to cozy up to the establishment-they'll still stab you in the back.

professorjoe

Yes, I am finding this very strange.

Because in 2008 they were so quick to rush the blame to us and I had expected it once again. Paul supporters grew tremendously since then. I wonder if they are just trying to pretend his msg. and movement does no longer exist in fear of it growing even more. I just bet!

blackout Ron Paul

is the name of this game

If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.
James Madison

I still think Romneys whole function in this was to stop RP

from getting the Republican nomination.

If Paul did get the nomination...

...I think they would have gotten "rid" of him somehow.

Possibly.

It definitely was the role for Santorum, Gingrich, Huntsman, et. al. But, I think the GOP actually thought they had a shot at the White House without us and it was Willard's reward for stepping aside for McInsane... After all, how much could a bunch of spammers in their mothers' basements really affect an election. LOL

HELL YES!! Excellent article!

FREEDOM!!

LOL Ron Paul is like Lord Voldemort to the GOP

He who must not be named

Yes I did notice that. Why isn't Sarah Palin, A Fox New

Contributor on the air saying, "I told you not to marginalize Ron Paul"?

hthomas

Why, indeed, hthomas.

The answer to your question should tell us all we need to know about neocon Sarah.
