Please see the thread I posted about these petitions.

I doubt most of your signautres are valid, the ones on my state are mostly non-Idaho residents. Next, even if you get 25,000 valid signatures, you will not become a "free nation of SC" for the effort. You will get a nice note from a White House flunky.

This is the article that got my posting privileges revoked:

I understand that

this get discussion and people end up learning about Nullification from this. That is what is going on in South Carolina. My State Legislator and I talked on Wednesday about how we go about it. I told him nullification is the way, we need to nullify all bad Federal laws under the 10 amendment.

WE need

just 2000 more, we can do it!

10,685

getting closer

Will Lindsey Graham become king of SC?

Yikes!

OH HELL

2 the NO!

Well Texas now has over

Well Texas now has over 26,000 signatures so I guess that means we've officially seceded. Or do we still have to wait for Daddy's permission?

When should I expect to see the $25.000+ in Federal Income withholding to be returned? Hope it doesn't take too long. Maybe 4-6 weeks like refunds normally take???

Four things to consider bout this peition....

1) If I sign it how do I know I won't get NDAAed?
2) It would probably require reps. of state government to file a petition or file the articles. Therefore, it would seem that you contact your state reps. and ask to sponsor or advocate by collecting enough signatures from South Carolinians only.
3) Seceding without a plan concerning economy is probably a bad idea.
4) The three things listed above proves these petitions are just a gimmick for internet sensationalism.

Well - one other thing - wouldn't the Russians just love to see us torn apart?

Allegory's picture

Who knew it was so easy?

Why bother to vote, to go through all the hassle of political struggle?

Just 25,000 votes in an online petition - to the White House no less - and the state is free. Less than 1/10 of 1% of the state's population, and it can form a new country. And the president will just let it go, without a peep, and without a fight.

Wow - the wonders of the internet. These are not like the days of Lincoln.

Who knew?

allegory - ˈalɪg(ə)ri/ - noun - 1. a story, poem, or picture which can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one.

See

all the thing you thought you knew, you dont.

You missed the sarcasm.

All 25,000 signatures buys you is the unsupported assertion that Obama will "consider" the petition. If he does "consider" it, he will certainly have a good chuckle before he circular-files it. Hope that's worth your efforts. And if your name isn't already on a White House enemies/domestic terrorist watchlist, this would be a good way to put it there.

I did sense your sarcasm

I know it wont end up in anything but it wont hurt!

Texas has more signitures

We cant let let Texas beat us!

The only one that's going to

The only one that's going to be beating you is Obama's thugs.

3307 now!

South Carolina, we can do this, but we need more signatures!

How the times have changed

150 years ago SC and several others attempted to secede in order to retain Slavery, now SC citizens and several others are attempting secede to Escape Slavery.

yep

so true!

Do your homework...

... NC's state constitution PROHIBITS the state from secession (Art. I, Sec.4):
http://www.ncleg.net/Legislation/constitution/ncconstitution...
You've got to change that FIRST!!!

All those state's pushing for secession need to do their homework as well! NH's state constitution, btw, does NOT prohibit secession and provides citizens' right of revolution to establish a new state government if the citizens deem necessary.

There are no states pushing

There are no states pushing for secession. The petitions are independent efforts of individuals within those states and are not official.

Try to find a video of one of the state governors declaring secession from the US.

...

thats NC

not SC

this is a "turn yourself in" list

sign it?
are you kidding?
on the WH website?

Kind of like showing up to collect your Free Ipad

only to find out it is a Sting to trick people with outstanding warrants into turning themselves in.

I went to the site to check it out and when I clicked on Georgia's petition, it told me I had already voted. Which I had not, I don't even have an account.

Pissed me off to a degree. If I'm going to be on some list, then I want EVERYONE to know where I stand. I personally don't think secession is the best option at the moment, however I've read the Declaration of Independence more than once and understand quite plainly that the option is available.

To say it is not, is to admit the absence of Rights and Equal Station.

Yep...

...my thoughts EXACTLY.

Why are you asking the

Why are you asking the Federal government's permission to secede?

basically

bringing more light to the fact that we want to and will

Really

What is with all these WH petitions? Totally counter-productive. Petition the SC State legislature, that's who would be empowered by a favorable paper ballot referendum to DECLARE unilaterally the independence of SC. The WH has nothing to do with it, but they'd sure like to know where you live so they can head off any moves in that direction. Hmmm, makes you wonder where these threads are coming from?

Obedience to God is resistance to tyrants.

Do you really believe that

Do you really believe that all you have to do is get 25,000 (0.0053% of SC tot. pop. BTW) signatures and that's that, you've seceded?
