Best New Businesses for Liberty People to Start?

I closed my business this past summer. Even though it was chugging along and I was making the paycheck with my American-made product I felt like it was more of a crutch stopping me from doing something bigger and better.

So I'm looking for a new business to start that will provide something people actually need, rather than junk they don't, allow for duplication in other communities, create some jobs, and educate people in some way.

I'm thinking:

-Gardening in small spaces
-Energy independence
-Home security
-Self defense
-Whatever ideas DPers have to offer.

By this ripe age of 30 and 7 I have found that I am not an entrepreneur, though I am a very good listener.

If Industrial Hemp is legal where you live, I'd look into that.

Lots of good material here, at the DP, for research:

Tiny Houses

People cant afford to keep what they got for much longer, and their going to need a place to live. You can rent them out, or rent with option to buy, or out right sell.
Maybe even put a few on a trailers and rent them out for vacations.
Include extras to add on and make small urban type gardens.

I believe in Hope & Change..I Hope the government will Change

naturally built smaller homes

Natural building methods for these "tiny" houses would be ideal.
Cheap, healthy, more sustainable than conventional buildings, etc..
some building methods and materials include:
Natural plasters

There's lots of this stuff emerging around the Asheville, NC area (your neck of the woods)
check it out!

Good subject

I was thinking of doing something like property valuation consultant to try to make sure people are not paying more taxes than what their property is worth.

I'm actually researching to start a 100% organic deli (sandwiches, wraps, breakfast, coffee) and non-GMO if available. There is nothing like that within at least 30 miles of where I live, and a demand for it in many locations.

ConstitutionHugger's picture

I'd love one of those, especially with a drive-thru

that could compete with the fast food places

It would be hard to make it drive through

Most organic food has to be made from scratch, or else you involve preservatives, making it less organic and possibly adding a GMO element to it. Unless it's a drive through for coffee and breakfast, which is easier to make on the fly and quickly. :)

Any thing to help

a older population remain in their homes, ideas on security, meals, yard maintenance, transportation etc. This is a huge untapped market and needs innovation, let's face it everyone gets older and nursing homes are scary places.

How about hydrophonics in a small mall

You could grow organic fruits and vegetables or herbs.
Let people pick there own or you pick it and also sell fresh fish.

I would imagine you could grow lobsters and crab, crayfish to much to mention.
You could have a food club membership where each person gets
so much each month for a membership fee that way it is already sold.
You could always add items you can't produce.
It could be done in other places besides malls.

I just started to represent an old firm (established in 1990) that is going national in a big way, as a non-insurance alternative to Obamacare. It satisfies the National Mandate by issuing you an exemption number for your tax return. Its a totally free market non profit. It has no doctor or hospital network; Go to any medical professional you like. You and the doctor make all the decisions. Costs less than Obamacare too.

And you can make money selling it to others! No license, special degrees or training required to sell it. Check out the website www.healthshareliberty.com. Email in for information on becoming a Member Sponsor at info@healthshareliberty.com

Of all the things 'We The People' can take back from the crony capitalists and big government is our health care. This is a simple way to get involved, help the country AND make some money in the process.

To your health freedom!

"Certified local"

Create requirements to be deemed such for local business'. Create a recognizable seal. Work with local newspapers to adopt participation. Create website so people can look where to spend their money. Charge a fee for getting certified. Ideally, the seal should be very recognizable and displayed on the store front. Educate the local population via the local paper or such.
Keeps money in the community, takes money away from the big corps and their lobbyists. Win win for everyone!

I wanted to do this but just didn't have the time. I'm hoping that some of my liberty minded peers takes up the idea. If implemented nationwide, it would make a HUGE difference.
