I've always known that speaking ability is not and should not be used as an indicator of how intelligent a person is. It is merely an assumption that has been passed down throughout history. For most of human history, it was the only way to communicate. (most people couldn't write) This false assumption of intelligence is also based on the surface value that naturally comes with the benefits of "out talking" other people. This is to say that the impressed listeners think to themselves about their own ability to speak fluently and then measure themselves against it. And when they realize that they can't speak as well, they assume that the better speaker is smarter than themselves. It is nothing more than a natural brain to body function, like good balance. Those "fast talkers" love to use it to their advantage as they entertain, bewilder and sometimes belittle those who are less vocally active.
He was never the "smartest man in the room".

It is easy to know who will win the presidential race even a week ahead of time. Simply see who the Las Vegas bookies are backing. They approach the issue from an unemotional point of view and are usually spot-on. They sure were last week.

So if Newton didn't do his homework (what else is new, he usually knows absolutely NOTHING about what he speaks) he only has himself to blame.

His numbers were pretty accurate...just picked the wrong winner

We knew the GOP wasn't going to get anyone elected with out the 'swing vote'. Presidents are never elected without 'the swing vote'. The GOP snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by alienating the swing vote by forcing on us a guy who had as the only good thing going for him being not being Obama. None of the Democrats that would have turned to Paul or Independents who would have turned to Paul or the Republicans who have wanted to take over the GOP voted for Romney any more so than we would have voted for Newt. A Republican could very well be headed to the White House right now had the status quo Republicans not done everything in their power to prevent it. Their stubborness lost them the White House AND their party itself.

I'm dumbfounded that anyone would vote for Obama or Romney.
