Petition to nullify the NDAA
Submitted by No.7 on Wed, 11/14/2012 - 23:26https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/nullify-national-d...
Lets blow the Obama administration up with these petitions. I'm willing to bet if every Daily P.Au.L. user created a petition then the President might have to learn a little about liberty

Wasn't this already tried
with the TSA? IIRC, that petition received overwhelming support and the WH basically turned around and said they had zero intention of getting rid of the TSA, despite people's wishes.
But yeah, I'm sure they'll get right on about repealing the (entire!) NDAA, right after Obama ends the Fed and brings the troops home, while Bernanke rides on the back of a silver dragon to his new job as the king of rock and roll.

Question on Petition
Shouldn't the petition outline specifically what is being petitioned:
Sections 1021, 1022, 1031, 1032, 1033
Reason being, the Administration, if this reaches threshold, can simply reply that NDAA is routinely signed, according to National Defense. Which it is.
I want their response to specifically address the above Sections, which is a direct violation of the Constitution.
It will also alert unaware American citizens of what is in this Act, and where to look.

Yes it should
Ideally it would, however after looking at the responses the administration has posted to petitions on there are laughable at best. My main objective is to raise awareness about the NDAA and spread the message of liberty into a new market.... The White House

I can not sign it then.
In its current form:
If it yields the numbers required, the Administration will only provide a very vague answer.
If it does not yield the numbers needed, future attempts to petition this may possibly have less momentum; most people lose interest and/or give up after a while.
I believe that a petition must be submitted correctly and precisely, otherwise it will be in vain.

I can respect that
but I doubt we will get a serious answer on the NDAA no matter how well put together the petition is.

Thank you for respecting that.
But please do not give up so easily. I was hoping that your response would have been that you will modify it to be more precise, or introduce a new one.
Petitions, even if not honored, are our voice. Though nullification at the state level is the rightful remedy, it is also most important to let the elected at the fed level know how this nation feels as a whole. Things like this are seen nation-wide, and can contribute to informing citizens what to take into their own hands [state].
OldNo.7J.D., I commend you and thank you for your effort. But r3VOLution, for the time being, must work harder than the average folk, and hopefully those efforts will rub off.
If there is a most precise petition, I will be among the first to sign :-)

I am up for this.
But first things first.
Why not finish what is started? Why not expose obama and his directives to the masses? Why not keep this bumped since it is only day after tomorrow:
