WASHINGTON (AP) - Ex-CIA Director David Petraeus was whisked clandestinely into a secure room beneath the Capitol, escaping waiting crowds of photographers and television cameras, to meet privately on Friday with members of Congress for the first time since he resigned over an extramarital affair with his biographer.

The retired four-star general, who until last week was one of America's most respected military leaders, discussed with the House and Senate intelligence committees the Sept. 11 attack against the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that left four Americans dead. He did not discuss his affair with Paula Broadwell, except to say his departure was not tied to the Libya attack.

Are they going to interview the Generals?

I have not heard any such talk of asking the Generals in charge of the region for their findings.

Where is Gen Carter Ham?

Ham is busy.

He probably has a lot of emails to send today. Personal emails.

LOL seriously

This whole Petraeus thing is nuts.

They say he had 20,000 to 30,000 emails back and forth with Broadwell. LOL!

Taking the midpoint of this range of 25,000 emails, that would be about 23 emails every single day for 3 years.

Isn't this guy busy running wars/"counter insurgencies" and then being the CIA director?

What is going on here??

Freedom - Peace - Prosperity

23 a day is just nuckin' futs.

That's like one every 40 minutes during waking hours. I'll bet he forgets to attach files all the time and has to follow up with those embarassing, wait, there's more emails. Hate to think what those attachments were...
