Help me remember

Greetings all... I remember there being a guy that was going around on the media circuit a few years ago talking about the currency problems, economic fallout and what not. He was a former something or another with the treasury or Bush admin or something I can't for the life of me remember.

I'm sorry for how vague this is, but I'm hoping someone can help me remember!
