Homeless People in Nevada City Must Now Get a Permit to Sleep in Public, in the Woods or in Their Own Cars

Police in Nevada City are now forcing homeless people to get a permit so they can sleep anywhere on public land, in the woods, or even in their own cars.

The Government's War Against the Poor

While pretending to redistribute wealth for the benefit of the needy, the Government's intent is to redistribute wealth and power from the public to itself. On occasion, it throws a few scraps to keep people on its side, much like the mob might make a generous donation to a hospital for good PR.

Car registration is a case in point. When people fall on hard times and loose their homes, their car is sometimes their last possession. At least it offers some shelter and a means for transport.

But it also gives the police something they can take away from you at the slightest 'infraction' such as out of date tags, busted tail light, etc.

And so what might have been a chance to get back on your feet is lost.

P.S. Nevada, while having no income tax, has a very high car registration as a hidden tax.

Please note...

Wickham is the police chief in Nevada City, California....not Nevada.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

My immediate question was why?

OK, so read the whole article to find out.

I still don't get it.

Having a piece of paper or not having a piece of paper will make homeless people better obey the laws? These people could give a fling-flang about the laws - THEY ARE HOMELESSS - and having a hard enough time trying to get through each day.

I still don't get it.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

It's

because public land like woods/forests is PUBLIC. If you are a citizen then you are part of the public whether homeless or not. That means you can use public places the same as anyone.

If you want to sleep in the forest, which is public land, then you should be able to, whether you're camping, in a tent, in a vehicle or just laying on the ground. The forest doesn't close. There are no "open hours". You're not bothering anybody if you're not doing anything illegal.

But people don't want people living on public land for free because more might try it. So authorities came up with this permit system to empower them to easily "shoo" homeless people away (even though they're not breaking laws) making it impossible to rest/sleep well, and keep the forest clean and clear for working, tax paying, State obedient people.

Society thinks having a home and being part of the debt-based system equals citizenship, but really just being alive (including opting out of the system) should have the same citizenship rights.

Thank goodness for the government!

(sarcasm obviously)

Since most of those who

Are homeless probably cannot afford such a permit they will be punished with a roof over their heads, 3 meals a day, free healthcare, and a cot...ie jail time.

“When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker a raving lunatic.” – Dresden James

Actually

I don't think the offense will warrant any jail time. The permit is only to "clean up" the homeless problem by empowering authorities over something any citizen should have the right to do.

Now police can harass and make it uncomfortable to sleep such places because the homeless obviously won't have the "mother may I?" permission permit.

It's alright, though. None of that will matter after the dollar crashes.

True Dat...

Simply examine our own history and the propensity for local law enforcement to raid Hobo camps, steal and destroy their menial possessions and drive them out of town on a rail...by the liberal use of brute force. It IS coming...and the tent cities will be SO large that the militarization of these police forces was necessary given the massive forces of push-back that will be encountered.

We gots us a helluvaproblem on the way...

Wha? .....hey....who stole my country?

I don't think

it will come to that.

When the dollar crashes the majority of people will be poor/homeless, including those currently employed by the govt/State (the govt won't have any money).

In other words look at Argentina, for example. That is a country with a collapsed economy since 2001. I'm sure there is a different attitude about people being homeless in Argentina, far more tolerance, because the vast majority of the country is poor anyway. Right now homelessness in the U.S. is looked at as something strange.

I'm simply looking at history...

...US history. But I will concede the fact that this collapse will have a very different nature to it. However, collapses happen gradually, and it is the gradual nature that will have the police state still being paid whilst the tent cities build in earnest. I guess we'll see...

Wha? .....hey....who stole my country?

Police state strides forward

I can see people having to get permits to travel from one state to another and internal passports just like in the Soviet Union.
It's coming...once the collapse of the dollar takes place.
