On Drudge: Rand Paul confirms interest in running for President in 2016

Drudge has a link to a Politico article that quotes Rand as saying that he is in fact thinking about running in 2016. You won't get that kind of admission from any other potential candidate. Everyone else, even Rubio is raising in funds in Iowa, dodges the question with evasive non answers.

I very much dislike the "facts" he uses in these statements. No, the top 1% are not paying half their income in taxes. Simply false.

What does it matter?

Even if they were paying 1% in income taxes, it's still too much. Any income tax is part-time slavery. Performing labor and not getting to keep the rewards of it is slavery, pure and simple.

He's going to have to avoid the whole rich vs. poor debate. He should spend the next four years hammering on this simple point: RICH OR POOR, WE DON'T NEED ANY INCOME TAXES, PERIOD!!!!

We've been without a 16th Amendment longer than we have been with it. People just need to realize that we can get back to that. Rand needs to focus on showing people the way.

Ridiculous. Do you also gripe when you pay your monthly rent, gas, or for other services? Hey, you are performing labor and not getting to keep the rewards of it!

And are you in support of sales taxes, property taxes, excise taxes, etc? Those are also taxes....so what if they are not on income.

Right. And in those times, not only were many more functions handled by the state government, but we also had much higher excise taxes. If we taxed like the feds taxed back in 1796, we'd have 600 billion in revenue...

Give reasons against Rand Paul

on the Daily "Brand" Paul... What's the point. Do your homework... There are plenty of them to be found. Yours may even be different than mine...

The comments over at "Politico"

...reaffirm my contempt for the masses and hatred of democracy.

We couldn't do any worse choosing candidates by lottery.

Good thing we're not a democracy

But we do need some better candidates.
