Legal Theft

“'The state is the great fiction through which everyone endeavors to live at the expense of everyone else.' – Frederic Bastiat

Almost every person knows the old saying, “nothing is certain but death and taxes.” It’s usually preceded by a heavy sigh and a feeling of helplessness as the leper-hand of the government reaches into their pocket and steals their hard-earned money… and that is exactly what an income tax is: legalized theft.
I can’t walk to my neighbor’s house, demand that he gives me half of his paycheck, and lock him up in my basement if he refuses. Why, then, is it okay for the government to do exactly that?"

I was considering posting some of my articles on reddit and see what kind of conniptions those statists have.

Also, I thoroughly enjoyed the links in your signature!

Great quote from Bastiat.

Great quote from Bastiat.

I'm very proud he was French and warned generations yet to come in his time.

He alone redeems a lot of our French revolution there is really nothing much to be proud of, otherwise.

He'd certainly not believe his eyes seeing the world we live in, especially after all his warnings.

P.S.

What does that tell you, btw ? In 16 years spent in the French public education system I never heard of him before stumbling upon his writings in my 20s.

Hint : expect Jefferson and Thoreau to disappear from the official public education programs in just a few years... if not done yet.

16 years in the American

16 years in the American system and I never ONCE heard of Bastiat either. Guess who clued me in? Ron Paul, of course. As for Thomas Jefferson, the only thing we were ever taught about him is that he owned slaves. Nevermind all his contributions! So sad... but it's amazing how much we can learn from someone who lived over 200 years ago.

55 years and I still

don't get it.

Taxation is theft!

Shiny badges can't change the fact, that the thieves are still armed thugs extorting the innocent with the use of violence.
