Are libertarians wolves in sheep’s clothing? Rebutting Ana Kasparian & The Young Turks

via The Libertarian Republic
My former debate opponent, Ana Kasparian called libertarians “wolves in sheep’s clothing” on her top rated web show “The Young Turks” this week. She was describing those who believe in social tolerance as well as free market economics as people who Republicans could sell to attract younger voters. Jacobin leftists made the same argument in a debate with me recently where they claimed that libertarians are “weaponized”, & “tools of the establishment.”

Kasparian and her panelists floated on her show the possibility of a White House run in 2016 by a now Kentucky Senator Rand Paul. On her show, the panelists referred to the rumored candidacy of Sen. Paul as a “disaster”.

Maybe it would be a disaster… for the social democrats.

Rand is not libertarian, even he admits that.

Libertarianism is not about candidates, first and foremost it is about following the law. We are a constitutional republic. Why is there a debate about private property rights? Private property rights are the the basis of this country. Only gold and silver money, no income tax, war must be declared by congress and the government must not borrow money. The right to bear arms, no government schools and no war on drugs.

71% of firefightes in this

71% of firefightes in this nation are voluntary firefighters...except that the firehouses themselves are not funded by voluntary contributions. Voluntary figherfighters are often paid. They get benefits, as well as pay for times that they respond during a crisis. Their training is paid for, etc.

She's right.

Libertarians who advocate tax cuts before ending the Fed - they are tools.

This article is a very good

This article is a very good read. It offers a breakdown of the division between real progressives (people I can respectfully disagree with on a number of issues) and self described 'liberals' who are anything but liberal on the issue of human liberty.

So this piece is to promote the Son of Ron Paul who

Endorsed his fathers opposition candidate Mitt Romney, while his father was still in the race? Yah programing the liberty crowd to accept Rand. I am sorry I could never ever ever support Rand after that. No matter what he could do I feel that he stabbed me in the back just when he could have charged in to stand as a man with his family and country he sold me out.

I'm suspecting..

..that early on in the Rand Paul for Senate campaign, Rand Paul agreed to later endorse the evident Republican candidate for President in trade for lack of opposition from the Republican Party leadership.

A deal is a deal.

"Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty" TJ

Agreed a deal is a deal

And when you make deals with the devil you loose me.

Romney Lost... Rand did not help Romney one bit to get the vote.

Everyone knew Rand would rather have had his father as the nominee.

The endorsement came too late to make any difference whatsoever for Romney.

And when Romney chose Paul Ryan over Rand or Ron as his VP he condemned himself with small "l" Libertarians and grassroots Republicans alike.

Rand did nothing to save Romney in this. He could not because Romney was already sinking himself.

In fact, even with the endorsement Rand criticized Romney's policies leading right up to the general election.

Rand played it strategically and the devil and his minions in the Republican establishment lost.

Now Rand is poised to become the 2016 nominee even with the support of the ignorant wing of the grassroots Neo-Cons... something even his father was unable to master.

The corrupt establishment wing of the Neo-Cons is now fully crapping their pants and trying to figure out
to go along and get along with us and Rand to save their positions and status as party delegates and party committeemen knowing now that if they don't get behind Rand by 2016 that they may be thrown out themselves.

Rand did not need to turn tail and sell out

You make my point. But you miss the issue. So next time Rand again will sacrafice his morality for somthing he feels is a greater gain.
Look you dont fight evil with evil for even if you win you only end up with more of what you didnt want in the first place. Your logic is flawed and your morality is in question.

Rand has spent more time volunteering for Ron Paul

...than any of us. Anyone want to doubt that? Come on...
Let's not make this personal and about our "feelings"

Right, He spent time helping HIS FATHER, that would

definitely mean that he believed in everything his dad told him as he grew up. I've never known a man in my entire life that loved his dad enough to help him whenever he could but really thought he didn't know where it was at on things in general. Nobody like that is even possible is it? Now way...

So maybe you should think about your own feelings there.

I'm telling you that I don't know whether or not I can trust him as if he's on our side because his actions on a few occasions didn't sit well for me logically from a Liberty standpoint. It has nothing to do with feelings in any negative way. These aren't irrational illogical feelings. These are warranted.

The Jury is still out on him for me. Plain and simple. He's going to have to get his head straight and keep it straight.

I saw Gary in a similar way and as more time passed, I realized that my initial "fears" about Gary were warranted. Feelings aren't always bad and they can be used to focus your mind towards a goal.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

Get real.

Rand endorsed Romney, and a rather meaningless endorsement at that, after Ron ended his Campaign. If you're really "hurt" by a meaningless endorsement then you have no place within the Liberty movement because if this was 1776, you would have ran away when the first shots were fired.

Before you use that argument get your facts straight. I stand by my statement.

Sheep dogs

They are cousins of the NWO wolves yet they hate each other. The sheep dog lives to protect the sheep. The sheep fear the sheep dog who protects them as much as the wolf who lusts for their blood.

Not wolves in sheeps clothing but right out in the open in your face sheep dogs.

great post.

We need to get an early start on 2016: Support Rand PAC 2016

No bitch!!

We're wolves and we eat sheeple! Bring your ass over here.

Thanks for sharing! Hopefully she'll take me up on my challenge.

Ana from TYT is a complete

Ana from TYT is a complete buffoon. I left a comment on the video she posted about Rand Paul running in 2016 today saying "Ana thinks all corporations are corrupt and evil, yet she wants them to pay for her education and health care through taxes". It's funny how people like her speak out against working people who make money, yet want them to be their sugar daddy.

Great comment

And an excellent point.

Is that the best comment you

Is that the best comment you could make? Nothing about the division inherent in her comments.....I'll have to make up for this myself, just so people aren't conflating neo-conservativism with libertarianism.
