Thanks for the Update

An 18 year veteran police officer can't tell the difference between a raucous party and a 3 year old, who just learned that he could whip it out and pee?
A small talk, "hey bud, big men don't do that in the front yard. They walk around back, or go in the house, k?"..."k"..
End of story.

The real tragedy is men like that, as officers for 18 years. And, of course, the “contributing to the delinquency of a minor” charge. Really? Have they never been around a 3 year old? It used to be that a 3 year old didn’t have the mens rea to even commit a crime. Unless the parents were in the yard, cheering him on, I don’t see any contribution either.

He was given an opportunity to actually help the world in some small way, and threw that away in favor of a huge citation. That would have been a feather in his cap, a $2500 fine. What accolade that would have brought him from his superiors. That sort of attitude is insidious. I think it’s doubtful that was his first bogus citation, though, possibly the biggest. Now he’s angry that they threw him under the bus for doing what they condone. Awww.
I'm glad this one shone a light, too often it doesn’t.

Just open the box and see

I'm surprised the cop didn't use his taser gun on the child, after all, they use it on disabled people, pregnant women, old veterans, and teenagers.

Accuracy matters

Funny the way you tell it - but not the real story

yep just to be accurate

I think the cop put his wee wee wiping hand on the line.

Just to be accurate though, according to the report the officer cited the Mother for letting the child pee on the front lawn, not the child.

Also, per the story the cop did not say he "put his life on the line." It was the attorney who referenced putting his life on the line. The OP implies the statement referred to this citation. Per the story the attorney was not referring to this incident but the hazardous job in general. The attorney said the officer "put his life on the line for the city every day."

Just to be accurate....

....the ticket to the mother was "contributing to the delinquency of a minor".

Gross misuse of that law.

The ticket to mom was "public

The ticket to mom was "public urination".
It was reduced to "contributing to the delinquency of a minor" - a smaller fine.

The public urination or PU fine was $2500 per the story - WOW!

Sounds like the city council are the ones that need to be fired. They are the ones that made the law and set the onerous fine and then act embarassed and innocent when its actually carried out.

Cop says he was just doing his job.

We couldn't agree more.

Most of those who think so actually don't and most of those who think sew actually rip.

Any time a cop gets in trouble it is because it is life & death

This is what they always tell you... we put our lives on the line. THIS IS BS!

#1 I did not ask any COPS to put their lives on the line for me, I carry a gun and can fully take care and defend myself.

#2 I fear cops way more than criminals.

This is true even though I have been robbed and carjacked with a gun held to the back of my head by a criminal. I have never been arrested but have come close several times due to super-cop syndrome. A cop that took my legally carried gun away from me (I hold CHLs in 2 states since the carjacking). That guy that robbed me had more respect for me that some of the cops that have harassed me for no reason, calling for militarized backup merely because I carry everywhere I go.

#3 I would prefer they not waist my taxes people watching while burning taxpayer gas in a parked car.

#4 Militarized armies of BARNEY FIFES are now a bigger threat to my civil liberties than the armed robber and carjacker. At least I can shoot the criminal dead when they violate my rights. But criminal police gangs will shoot you dead if you resist their attempt to rape you of constitutional amendments 1 through 10.

Militarized armies of BARNEY FIFES

And Andy spent his whole career guarding against this very thing. Such an ignominious end to a great man.

Punk-*ss B*TCH !

(Now if they'd just actually fire cops who taze old ladies and slap people around, instead of giving them desk duty or suspensions....)

What would the Founders do?
