US to leave 10,000 troops in Afghanistan past 2014 (Perhaps as many as 30,000)

Some 10,000 US troops will remain in Afghanistan after NATO combat operations end at the end of 2014, US media reports said Sunday. The plan is in line with recommendations from General John Allen, commander of ISAF forces in Afghanistan.

The administration of President Barack Obama aims to keep around 10,000 US troops in Afghanistan after formal combat operations in that country end in 2014, The Wall Street Journal reported late Sunday.

Citing unnamed senior US officials, the newspaper said the plan was in line with recommendations presented by General John Allen, commander of US and international forces in Afghanistan, who has proposed a force between 6,000 and 15,000 US troops.

The USG has been occupying Afghanistan...

That is all I have to say.

This should be enough time for pacification to work imo. I personally heard a non-active General say this.

donvino

Of course the soldiers will remain.

The poppy fields must be guarded and the coke safely shipped to America.

underdog - poppys make herion

not coke. Herion is used by Big Pharma for pain meds and by the alphabit agencies to put on the streets of America, Europe, China, and Russia to fund their covert operations. Poppies are processed in Turkey and ships from all the countries load up from there.

LOL, and thanks.

I haven't paid much attention to those details. But the point is there are huge cash crops over there guarded and overseen by our own military.

Clever

We can only ask our fathers and mothers, how wonderful the world was when Taliban irradicared Poppy fields in the past. No heroin, no big pharma greed, people were dancing in the streets being sober.

Alex Jones cannot focus, but we have start learning at some point in our life.

What happened to Iraq oil our companies do not pump today? Not even foreign Zionist companies? What happened to Afghanistan "lithium" explanation?

Good points to ponder.

A sane voice in a thread of unsubstantiated claims.

I read that article and thought it sound more like good news. I mean, less troops, engaged in a less aggressive role. Not to mention no bases. Like it or not, Obama seems to be following through on withdrawing from the region in a responsible manner. At least from what I am seeing in the headlines. Still, he is making up for it in the drone strikes.
