Hello From North of the Border

Hello to all of the current members here at the Daily Paul; Allow me to introduce myself, My name is James Nellis and I've been following this site since the start of Ron Paul's presidential campaign in 2012. Here's the twist I'm not American, I'm Canadian and proud of it. Allow me to say a few things about myself and why I am finally joining the Daily Paul. I'm a few years out of high school and am finally trying to get into university (our way of saying college) I'm a football guy who loves watching both the CFL and NFL - GO COWBOYS! And I've always been very interested in politics; thanks to my parents constant arguing at a young age over differences in our Conservative party and Liberal Party of Canada. I always sided with my dad who's pro-conservative but would acknowledge that my mom had some good liberal ideas. Anyways while I grew up and attended high school I would never do my work; I was lazy and uninspired. I also only thought about where the next party was at, my money situation and how I would get laid that night. That all changed when I discovered Ron Paul.

I can't remember the exact date and time but I remember how I discovered Dr. Paul; I was at a friends place when he showed me a you-tube video of one of the presidential debates back in 2008. All I could see in this video is this little old man spitting truth out his mouth like it was no tomorrow. What really sold me was when Rudy Giuliani asked Dr. Paul to take back his statement on 911; the good doctor response took balls denying that he would take back his words. So after discovering this courageous man I quickly started to watch as many videos as I could on You-Tube on Dr. Paul and what I watched was mind blowing. I would spend hours watching this man speak, days, weeks and finally enough to the point where I was a die hard Ron Paul fan. I would preach Dr. Paul's message to my friends and family but never really got any attention; they called me a quack but I kept on preaching. After months of preaching and not really getting anywhere I decided to hang it up and wait for the next election cycle hoping Dr. Paul would run again, I eventually got my wish.

When the good Doctor announced his run for POTUS in 2011-2012 I was very much excited, I would look at the campaign website everyday and try to find out the latest news on the campaign trail. I loved watching the debates especially when Rick Perry made his "Oops" comment, that was hilarious. It wasn't until after the Iowa caucus that I discovered this great website. I would check the DP almost every chance I got to see the news be it good or bad; I remember the lows of not winning here or there, the failed super Tuesday and above all the controversial Rand Paul Endorsement. But whose to say I don't remember the highs? Remember winning all those state officials seats, remember rocking the establishment at conventions, and above all remember all the people who awoke to Ron Paul's message of individual liberties, of humble foreign policy's, and above all his message of the FEDERAL RESERVE! I sure as hell woke up.

While watching the campaign trail I always wanted to help contribute to the effort. I knew I could not donate since it was a crime and I couldn't get enough resources to travel through the states to help Ron on his campaign. My main reason I didn't help was the fact of how brutal your country has become; I don't mean to offend some of you but most of you already know America is well on its way to becoming the next Nazi Germany. I say this because I to was swept up in all the conspiracy theories that surround the UN, NATO, The Federal Reserve, 911 and most important that dreaded family who I wish to see all hang in front of me. I felt maybe I should join the Daily Paul and help encourage you guys through your battles, but again I was scared to be apart of this site. I was scared of your government adding me on to the so called "terrorist watch list" which I'm afraid that all members here are most likely on.

Now that the campaign is over I have decided to grow a pair of balls or so to speak, so I can raise my voice against government tyranny. Up here in Canada were a lot freer then you guys by means of smaller police state, and free health care(Free Health Care is Awesome but it does carry's its negatives, I hope to debate with you guys on that issue in later entries) but technically my country is not free. My country is still ruled through the English Monarchy as we have a fake democracy that is appointed through England's governor general. All of my country's laws must be approved by the Queen before they can be signed in. All of my country's money is based on debt which is bought from the National Bank of Canada and paid back in unprecedented interest. I am a young man who wishes to be free, free from government control, free from tyranny, but above all the most desired freedom i wish to have is the freedom from the ROTHSCHILD Bankers monopoly of world central banks by use of debt based money. I have a bad feeling about using those bastards names in my writing but I believe the truth must be set free. I hope one day all of the families of people who are involved in this global domination scam through the UN and International banks all hang.

To end my first post I would like you people to know that I to will carry the torch of liberty in my country, I too will fight government tyranny and I too will do whatever I can to awaken the ignorant public who has been brainwashed with liberal fear propaganda. For I am a patriot, not an American patriot but a Canadian patriot; and I invite all other Canadian DP'ers to stand up and take the challenge with me. I will be writing letters to the editors, I will explore a career in journalism, I will achieve a career in politics. I dream to one day become a Conservative MLA in my district. I dream to ultimately become the Prime Minister of Canada where I can one day hopefully end all the tyranny that is bestowed on my country by our hidden enemies that fly the Union Jack.

P.S my tap button doesn't work so my indents may seem odd haha. Anyways I look forward to talking with all of you and would like your feedback on all of my future posts. I'll end this entry with a quote from my Hero, Old Hickory Mr. Andrew Jackson

"You are a den of vipers and thieves. I intend to rout you out, and by the eternal god, I will rout you out"

What a coincidence!

I hadn't even read your post and just posted this:

I think it's time for us to take this movement global.

Unlearning and self-teaching since 2008. Thanks, Dr. Paul!

most of canada's debt is from

most of canada's debt is from the private banks not the central bank and McKenzie King nationalized the Central Bank. Also, go to www.ohcanadamovie.com. Same story different banks. King is a hero. The govt COULD "borrow" at 0% interest from the Central Bank but you all know what the leftists would do then. Cause massive inflation with bogus programs. go watch that movie.

Thanks for the wake up call

This video woke me up all right. I still believe that the central bank of Canada has its hands in this scam; but the information regarding our private banks like rbc, cibc ect is astounding. Thanks for the recommending the video i still have a bunch to learn

Welcome!

Always so lovely to meet another person who is brave and ready to take back what is ours, wherever we live, whatever we do. We believe in freedom and peace. God bless!

Welcome my fellow Canadian!

Indeed the message of Liberty knows no bounds or borders.

That was a solid piece of writing my friend. Well done! Study journalism? You just laid down more truth in one post than many of our corporate media representatives have. Ever. Start a blog, do youtube videos, get yourself out there and starting the public conversation. There is a new shift in media that is just beginning to unfold. Best example I can think of is the #1 podcast in Canada: The Joe Rogan Experience. You are probably already a listener, if not you should be. The recent episode #289 with Shane Smith from VICE was awesome. It's a short one compared to the usual 3 hour ones so any one reading this, check it out: http://vimeo.com/joeroganexperience

Truth is coming to the surface and there is no stopping it. I wish you the outmost success and happiness!

Thanks for the encourgament

Thanks for your opinion on my writing there, it truly meant a lot. I'm currently awaiting my acceptance(I hope) to university where I hope to take Law, Economics, Poli-Sci, and history. I never gave much thought into journalism until a few months ago; my reason is that I really never had a good English teacher so I lost much interest in writing. It wasn't until I took an adult learning course a few months back were I discovered a new found talent/interest for writing. However I feel I don't know enough to start my own blog but I wish to give it a try; would you know of a way to start one or even join one? And also I've never heard Joe Rogans podcast but I bet its awesome and will take a look into listening to it.

I admire your pursuit of knowledge

What I have learned is that one really doesn't need "official" education to get into the subjects you want to get into. It's no surprise that you didn't have a good english teacher. Neither did I. The education system is a part of the Establishment and only "teaches" you what they want you to repeat as part of the status quo system. Think of the YEARS you will spend sitting in classrooms paying to be indoctrinated with outdated and old methods. The internet has all of the knowledge you seek at your fingertips, you simply need to start looking.

I apologize if that came off as "anti education" but I really mean it as the complete opposite. I'm PRO "self-education" because Words don't teach—only experience teaches and you getting online and letting your interests drive you towards what you want to know is in itself a unique experience. Law is falling apart, Economics are falling apart, Political Science seems like an oxymoron and History is distorted and purposefully NOT being updated with new discoveries. Do these outdated subjects seem like a good investment in your future in a changing world? Even if you do pursue it, think for yourself and challenge EVERYTHING you're being "taught" and don't just take a professor's word for it. Many professors who are attempting to update their curriculum are being removed from "the system" because they aren't following the status quo.

If you want to learn about starting a blog, just google it , "How to start a blog" and let your intuition guide you to what stands out to you. I, much like yourself, never had a desire to write or really read anything. I'm a Polish-born Canadian citizen and English is actually my second language although I speak and write way better in English than Polish now. No one taught me to write this way, It just sort of "grew" on me and I keep getting better and better at it. I've never written more than on the Daily Paul and I consider this site my greatest source of inspiration to keep it up. There's something wonderfully intoxicating about connecting with like-minded people and sharing your thoughts with them and resonating with theirs.

The world needs people like you, bright, driven and the ability to see through the BullS* out there. That attitude alone will bring you great success no matter where the next step takes you. Follow your inspiration—your desire—and you'll never be misguided.

Lastly, YES please check out Joe's podcasts. There's something about REAL people talking about REAL issues that just makes everything else, like the old dinosaur corporate media, seem substance-less. That's because it really is.

Have you heard of MLA

Have you heard of MLA Danielle Smith or MP Scott Reid? They're both quite pro-liberty. What do you think of them?

Support Rand, Amash & other liberty candidates? Check out: http://www.LibertyConservatives.com/

Unfortunately no

In the morning I will get my butt in gear and search these guys up I hope their in Manitoba, we need some serious work on our billion dollar deficient.

Reid's the best you have in

Reid's the best you have in Canada both ideologically and in terms of how much power he has, he's in Ontario. Smith's in Alberta, she's pretty good too and leader of the opposition there. Reid is pro-life, Smith is pro-choice.

The most libertarian event you guys have is this:
http://propertyrightscanada.org/index.php/home

Last year both of them spoke there.

I don't know anything about Manitoba. Alberta seems to be the closest thing to a 'free province' in Canada.

There are a couple of other sort-of liberty-leaning people too - MP Rona Ambrose, MP Peter Goldring and MP Maxime Bernier. MP André Arthur wasn't too bad either, but he retired in 2011.

The most libertarian think tank in Canada is probably the Koch-backed Fraser Institute (which many of these politicians are affiliated with), but even that's pretty moderate, it's probably equivalent to Cato in the US.

I too am Ron Paul guy north

I too am Ron Paul guy north of the border. I'm not Canadian by birth, however. I was born in England and raised mostly in Australia. In fact, I have triple citizenship (and consequently triply sworn loyalty to the Queen). Living in Ottawa, most people I meet tend to be left of centre/left. Funny thing is I can always make them agree to the individual tenets of libertarianism one-by-one but never the entire package.

One day, in the distant future, I hope to run as a libertarian in some capacity back home in Oz(preferably) or Canada.

A man at that nations capital!

Its nice to see feedback from a guy whose right there in all the action, I wish to see the parliament buildings one day. Over here in Manitoba most people do fall under the left spectrum of big government, I try whatever I can to get them thinking more to the right. Hope we both can change many more peoples prespectives

Great

healthcare isn't so free in Australia, either

Welcome!

"Department of Human Services data obtained by News Limited show 14,000 Australians applied to access superannuation savings to pay for medical costs and 8000 people were given access to $79 million in payouts.
Another 1700 people with a terminal illness claimed a further $19 million in early superannuation payouts and $12 million was paid to allow over 1000 people with a disability to modify their homes or vehicles.
The growing call on superannuation savings to pay medical bills has laid bare a growing health funding crisis in Australia."

http://www.news.com.au/news/super-funds-raided-to-pay-health...

This is why a lot of people there also shell out for private health insurance. Redistribution of wealth is no one's friend.

If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.
James Madison

Free healthcare is not free

Fully half the Canadian federal budget is apportioned for healthcare, and the percentage is growing. It may seem awesome, but just ask anyone who's needed a highly specific procedure how well the system works. More and more people are engaging in healthcare tourism abroad for medical procedures for which there are multi-year wait lists. It is literally rationing, but instead we call it "inefficiencies", as if throwing more money at it will decrease the problem.

And now, the federal government is considering a new EU trade agreement which will grant pharmaceutical companies patent extensions on their drugs. One of the main reasons Canadian healthcare is still "cheap" compared to America is because we have strict patent laws that allow generic drugs into the market faster. (Why do you think there are so many spammy "cheap Canadian meds!" sites around?) By agreeing with the EU laws, get set for healthcare costs in Canada to shoot up once again.

Greetings. Representing Ontario.

I to agree

Health care is defiantly not free, you got it right there. Now I didn't know about this new EU bill, and I don't understand how it will affect me yet. I was wondering if you could tell me a good responsible news outlet on Canadian issues such as there. Going back to healthcare; I totally agree with you on how brutal the waiting lists are here at home. My health care in Manitoba is pretty crappy, I have to wait at least 6 hours in an emergency room unless I have chest pains, and I spent 2 months waiting to see a urologist when I had the clap! I believe the best way to improve our health care is to get rid off all the useless programs in my province and send the money from those programs back into healthcare. My two cents.
