Nation's New Top Cop!

A shocking video has emerged of a police officer who abides by the oath he swore to uphold the constitution by defending the free speech rights of activists who were targeted by airport officials during the opt out and film campaign.

That old dude...

has a real "contempt of security guard" complex. Retire already.

of this type of behavior from Cops then start a national "cut a check" campaign -- send checks to either (or both) the Widows and Orphans Fund or to the Police Ball (or whatever 501 c-3 his department has) in Lenic's name.

If you want the behavior to "spread" you must "fund" it -- that's called Consumer-Rule.

I like your first idea,

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

Sweet...I wish all cops were like him!!!

And the bossy idiot, you would think he owns stock in the company that produces those cancer porn scanners. That dude needs a slap in the face and a few daily walks through the scanner himself!

love it

i loved the look on the old authoritarian guy's face when the Deputy said Bermas did not need to show him identification and neither can he pass it on to the old guy even if the Deputy had that info !!
Salute !!
it seems the old guy was making up rules as he went - like "that area is now closed and only ticketing passengers can go up" !!

Keep the positive reinforcement and praise coming in. We need to uphold good behaviour as much as we condemn bad.

Thanks!

Happy New Year to you, too! :-)

Glad to see this officer getting some love.

Lately I've been going out of my way to praise police officers I witness upholding their oaths.

Incident #1. Bad cop was upset because our music at a tailgate was too loud for him. He called a noise complaint himself and then responded to his own complaint (unbelievable). Then he came storming up on our property and started walking in the front door. I tapped him on the shoulder and said "you do NOT have permission to be on this property." He turned around, walked back out the front door and got in my face, then my friends pulled me away and somehow got him to leave.

Then a few minutes later two other good cops came up and were half flabergasted and half-laughing. They said "we have no idea who this rookie his. We reported him. Sorry and he did that. He won't be coming around here again. Have fun at your party."

I thanked the one good cop I saw the next week. He said he likes Ron Paul but doesn't know that much about him.

Incidence #2. I saw a drunk asshole yelling at a cop on the street and borderline assaulting him. The cop calming but forcefully pushed the kid back and told him "I can't beat the shit out of you right here and there is nothing you can do about it. Go home right now." Then he went back to his partners and stood there quietly as the crowd yelled at the kid to get out of there. The kid left. It is a rare time when I ever root for the police in a situation like that, but I wouldn't have blamed the cop for socking him. The kid started it.

I walked right up to the group of cops and thanked for showing restraint against that asshole and that they were doing a good job. They kind of just glared at me, but screw I figure if they get positive feedback for doing the right thing maybe they will keep doing it.

New top cop

Good "Parenting" - As it Relates Here and to Foreign Policy

Duh. Let them hand out flyers without interference, and they'll quit when they get tired/hungry. Basic parental tactics. Bullying isn't going to win.

Pick a fight, and if they were regular folk, they'd probably cave, but these are more like a typical teenager (i.e., activists and rebels), and picking a fight only means "they" win no matter what happens.

Pick your battles. Trying to come over all authoritarian doesn't always work, and in this case, the whole thing would never have been posted on the DP if they had all acted reasonably like the officer.

It's kind of like trying to force other countries to be "peaceful" and respecting of human rights by using guns on them, when leading by example and defending their liberty, would work much better.

Deputy Lenic

YOU SIR ARE AN OATHKEEPER! YOU HAVE BEEN TRAINED VERY WELL! May someone drink a toast to you and your support for the law of the land!

For The Power of The Republic!

Does Meyers have turrets in his right eye?

lol sorry for the title, but I think Meyers winks at Deputy Lenic around 9:47 when Meyers is asking about Bermas I.D.

Maybe he's just blinking weird with one eye?

Veterans for Ron Paul

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

A few good men.

Like Deputy Lenic is what we need. And I think we have more than a few. There are many good deputies/sheriffs/police officers. They just need to know we have their back. WE THE PEOPLE, whose rights they are supposed to be protecting.

I wish there were some Deputy Lenic's at the delegate conventions where RP supporters were illegally harassed, arrested, even assaulted.

My hope soars when I see a little courage like this deputy displayed toward a petty tyrant and bully.

Justice was served that day!

Wow

That TSA guy was acting like a gang leader. "This is our turf. MY rules apply here," and whatnot.

Awesome police officer! We need more just like him, who refuse to lend unauthorized power to gang leaders like that TSA guy.

This was great until the last

This was great until the last couple seconds when the Bildeberg dude started bringing up 9/11 conspiracy nonsense. Another opportunity squandered by the Liberty Movement...

Yeah but

Jason Bermas, the guy "bringing up 9/11 conspiracy nonsense" made 2 films on 9/11. So it's kind of "Jason's thing" to bring up subjects like that.

And the opportunity was a slam dunk, imo. I guess the NIST report was good enough for you :(

Veterans for Ron Paul

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

who knew

Who knew Cops ever thought about what was lawful?!

Can

this cop be cloned?

Actually knows the law, and doesn't get pressured into anything by the jackass working for the airport....whether he wanted to or not.

Send Deputy Lenic your thanks at

his departments facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/AlbanyCountySheriff

We need to encourage our good officers as much as we possibly can.

Cheers!

I would like to point out

I would like to point out that office WEIS deserves some recognition too, for his conduct and the way he handled his part.

Wonderful

Just a fantastic job....I posted this http://www.dailypaul.com/264508/positive-police
before I saw this video....uummm I have no idea why that posted 4 times, I kept timing out. Sorry about that.
