This is going to national convention.
It will be a close race between McCain, Romney, and Paul. Huckabee will be trailing and will make a surprise endorsement of Paul at the convention and Paul will have Huck as a VP.
McCain
I know that sounds crazy, but I just have a hunch. Rudy and Fred were frontrunners and they are gone. McCain is the frontrunner now but there are two huge problems, he should be raising money like mad, he's not. And he is very liberal and that still bothers some conservatives. Things are changing very rapidly in this race, I think by the middle of March it will be Romney, Huckabee, and Paul.
on the dot
so was this just an easy call?
Huck/rudy
in your list means that you hedged a little bit, so it's not on the dot -- a quick browse shows some of the earlier posters are doing better in straight predictions so far:
this is the sequence
On January 16th, 2008 OLIVERROBERT says:
1. Hunter
2. Thompson
3. Rudy Dudy
4. Huckeebucky
5. Romney( when he is tired of spending his own money). He is too stupid to make it to the end
5. Hopefully Mc.Cain but he is endorsed by the neocon's and the jewish community. ( See Kissinger & Lieberman) They will probably give him back the money the US sends to Israel in order to continue funding his brainless campaign. Remember they want war, they want Iran invaded, they direct the Federal Reserve and they are standing for the military industrial complex.

In the end
On January 16th, 2008 Davy C Rockett says:
Hunter
Thompson
Giuliani
Huckabee
McCain
In the end it will be Paul against Mitt or McCain.
More likely Mitt since he's got his own personal fortune to spend.
My thoughts...
Hunter dropped out today.
Thompson will probably announce this week.
Guiliani after Florida. Unless the media comes up with another big surprise...
Huckabee or McCain after Super Duper Tuesday...
But like I said, the media loves the twists and turns and they can make or break a corporate candidate in a day!
We just need to keep chugging along!

Winnowing has begun
1) Hunter out Jan 19
2) Thompson out Jan 20
3) Guiliani out Jan 30 after losing Florida
I won't try to predict how Huckabee, Romney, McCain, and Paul will do on Feb 5th, but they can all find reasons to continue unless McCain becomes unstoppable. Huckabee will live off the land and evangelicals. Romney has money and the mainstream conservatives, McCain has establishment backing and the neo-cons and moderates, Paul has the grassroots and the libertarian-conservative vote.
Romney or McCain will drop out if the other one gets a large delegate lead. Huckabee will stay in to the convention, at least nominally, to gather delegates and ensure a VP bid. Paul will hopefully stay in to offer an alternative to whoever becomes the presumptive nominee and exercise influence on the platform.
we really have to hope that McCain doesn't reach critical mass
Outside of that, dynamics could remain very fluid. I am thinking alot along your lines with the following caveat. The economic/financial world is truly entering a train wreck. This could play very very powerfully into Ron Paul's favor. Another wild card could be a deterioration in the "surge" success in Iraq. So, if Paul can remain viable to convention time, there is a longshot possibility of external events overtaking the planned McCain coronation. And if any GOP candidate has the Howard Dean blow-up potential, it is Senator John.
None of em
It takes integrity to admit you're out of money, can no longer campaign, and drop out. Hunter, Giuliani, Huckabee, and Thompson have no integrity. They will remain paper candidates even though they are financially incapable of actively campaigning. Bums!! Leeches they are!!!!
It's the End of the Line for Ron Paul and his supporters

Freds mother is ill.
Fred is back home with his mother who is in the hospital. This may be a blessing for him as he may find it a reason to drop out. See you later.
Lets hope we can pick up some of his and Hunters supporters. Every voter counts.
Rudyjudy, depending on the polling, is ahead or behind slightly in Florida. If he wins Fl., he is back in the race with a take all 56 delegates. Here is hoping( if Dr. P can't do it) mcinsane wins this particular race considering these two nitwits are running neck and neck.
I want rudy out after the 29th, if not before.
GEAUX RON PAUL 2012.
I thought someone posted that Rudy was now
3rd or 4th in Florida. I had a hard time believing that. What you say makes sense, but I sure as hell hope that sucker doesn't win in Florida. That would send the MSM into a Rudy coverage frenzy as the new front-runner, high momentum Rudy, Rudy, Rudy. That New York national media will just shove that shit down our throats. Please, bury him in the Sunshine State.
Never liked Rudy.
I really want him out considering how disrespectful he has been to Dr. Paul. Glad to see we are all getting the last laugh.
Huck just keeps stealing all of Dr. Paul's ideas as his own thanks in large part to the drunk Ed Rollins.
GEAUX RON PAUL 2012.
Rollins had a good run during the Reagan era, but
seems to have picked losers in his later years, including Katherine Harris. Are there rumors he's a drunk or were you just taking some poetic license?
He seems now to be more of a hack than anything else (and fits in well with the Hackster), but still, he's had lots of experience in poltiical warfare and dirty tricks. The Paul campaign could probably use a heavyweight jerk in its campaign just to counter the moves of the other campaigns' slimeballs. Once Paul starts to create real problems for these people, it's gonna get nasty big time.
You busted me.
He has a few cocktails, but I don't think he is a drunk. LOL
Yes, Rollins is a hack. I do hold him responsible for stealing the ideas of Dr. Pauls' and making them Hucks.
I agree with you about it getting nasty. We are in for a lot more from every side. The racism attacks were a false but ugly black eye. Lets see what they all bring up next.
I like looking at the "new donors" list, it tells me that people are not buying into the BS stories the MSM and the GOP is selling.
GEAUX RON PAUL 2012.
hard to say...guiliani but after that???
If Thompson didnt get 3rd in SC he would have surely dropped.
But now that he got 3rd he has to hang around until after FEB 5 now matter what.
He most likely will continue to pick up 3rds. If he is ok with this then he will stay in as long as there are funds. At the least he could weaken Huckabee in many states and help McCain.
That is why I strongly suggest as long as Thompson is in the race we need to be attacking full steam McCain and become the giant killer on image only.
Romney will help of course...John cant handle a two sided assault.
If thompson cant keep this up long enough then Thompson goes out and mccain takes a beating giving up strength to Ron.

The better question is who will be FORCED OUT. I think Huck, Fred and the Ghoul will be gone very soon, the RNC wants all thier people in the McCain camp to battle Romney and Dr. Paul.
I don't know about that
I think the Ghoul was their first choice. Admittedly, it hasn't worked out for them. So, he and Fred will be exiting. Don't agree on the Huckster...he's there to stay as the supposed Christian candidate and the party hacks can't risk alienating them. There was already concern among the Party powers that they would not have their vote this year. In fact, a McShame/Huckster ticket may be in their thinking.
reply
You bring up a good point about Huck, I think the RNC will have him announce he is dropping out to support McCain with the intention that he will be his running mate. Huck is broke just like Thompson and the Ghoul and the RNC wants to KO Romney just as much as Dr. Paul.
actually, boom, it's obvious
McShame/Huckster....both are big government, pro-illegal alien amnesty, pro-war, I mean it's all friggin there.
Going up against Clanton/????. Don't have that one yet, but Obama and Clinton won't run on the same ticket, too much bad blood. She'll pick a minority for VP though to divert any racist charges.
Either way, the CFR, pro-war, pro-illegal alien, pro-destruction of sovereignty crowd wins the election.
Bloomberg would be permitted as a diversionary farce. He's one of them as well, what a joke...a "third party" CFR candidate as an "alternative" to the others. This is a sick joke.
Remember when there were 9
Remember when there were 9 candidates on stage? Looks like we down to 4 very soon. ..pretty neat RP still standing and getting taller..
Now we know that
Hunter is gone.
After that....I still trying to figure out why Thompson entered the race and why he's bothering anymore. He doesn't have a grassroots behind him so where does he raise money and keep the thing going? If his supporters go to McCain, though, I hope he stays in just to maintain McCain at a lower level.
Giuliani just keeps losing support and even a presence...he's not covered that much even by MSM now. His numbers are so low, I'm thinking they've already dispersed to other candidates. I guess that Pat Robertson endorsement didn't quite work out.
Huckabee is the pain as he's got a single issue constituency alot like Romney does, or at least has had in these early states. If Romney were not Mormon, how well do you think he would have done in Wyoming and Nevada...I mean a slick liberal ex-Governor of Massachusetts? Are you kidding me? The guy would have polled close to zero.
Anyone have any facts
Anyone have any facts regarding the "money in the bank" status of each campaign?

Not much
Guiliani had 7 mil as of Jan 1. Huck had 2 mil. McCain and Fred were probably in debt at the time. Huck has since raised another 2 mil, but is probably living hand-to-mouth. McCain raised a little after NH, but now the flood-gates will start to open for him.
Paul had 8 mil as of Jan 1, but I estimate is down to 4 mil or less even with the 1.4 mil raised this month.
Romney has 250 million.
Huckabee in the Race hurts us.
I believe that if Mike Huckabee was some how out, or never joined, then the Christian right would have got behind Dr. Ron Paul.
Thompson hurts us as well.
But what is/was most shocking, McCain got the independent ANTIWAR republican voters in New Hampshire...
And for this, Jessie Benton tells us, not what he they did wrong, not what mistakes where made, not what to do better... he tells us to "be patient" the plan (wink wink) is working.
Mmmm
No, McCain is hurting us
He competes for the same independent and moderate-liberal voters. Every exit poll shows that Paul runs well among the same groups that McCain does (only much lower percentages of course). Paul does relatively worse among conservative and religious voters.
This all makes sense because the media impression of Paul is anti-war libertarian. His stands on immigration, abortion, and other social issues are barely known. And he rarely mentions them in debates.
Thompson drop could be bad
The loss of Thompson before Feb 5 means a boost for McCain, since it is likely Thompson will endorse him. Even though Thompson's fiscal conservatism is closest to Ron Paul's the war crucially separates them.
If Guilliani drops, he will sell to McCain which is not so bad.
I think Huckabee is fine and will continue to run, he has a couple million in the bank. He's on a mission from God and not broke.
Hunter will endorse someone before the 5th.
Freddie dropped the ball
in the ABC New Hampshire debate. Instead of teaming up with the so called "front runners" to attack Paul, he should've teamed up with Paul to cannabalize the front runners. He does'nt have to agree with Paul but tactically speaking he and Paul in tandem could've discredited the other four.

Don't forget Howard Dean
At any moment (especially in McCain and Huckabee's case) any one of the candidates can make a huge mistake.
