Ron Paul and the NH Media...

PLEASE!

Do not spam WMUR or any other news outlet as someone suggested in another post. While you might send a politely written story to their news department, I have it on good authority that they have already received tons of information they can use concerning event numbers both past and present, and fundraising and straw poll numbers, that they can use for any upcoming stories about the end of the quarter.

They do know that MSNBC scooped them.
Thank you for that posting of the excellent MSNBC article here:

The media will respond to requests but not if you are harassing them.

That said, here is how you can meanwhile help with the media.

As other sites have noted, is hard to imagine that WMUR was just two blocks away from the rally and they could not manage to send a camera...but here is what you can do.

WMUR maintains a section on their website for each candidate where people can upload campaign photos. I regret that I have been behind in doing this myself since the June 22nd visit and still have many to upload myself. But I suggest that anyone who took photos of the event on Saturday upload them there, with informative captions such as '700 turn out for Ron Paul' or '700 campaign with 27 family members' etc.

Please keep the WMUR photos NH-centric.

I realize that many of you across the nation also upload your photos to FLICKR then designate them to go to the Ron Paul group there, and this is great too!

Always be polite

The holders of public airwaves licenses need to be politely reminded, on a regular basis, of their civic duty to report all news that affects their community regardless of wether or not it fits the editors opinions or the owners corporate strategy.

On the flip side, those outlets who do their duty should be congratulated.

It needs a doctor!

Good idea. Let's remember

Good idea. Let's remember to acknowledge and thank those who give RP fair and equal coverage.

PLEASE "spam" away

I am really tired of people misquoting me. The "spam" comment was written with a laugh toward the media who has labeled us just a few internet "spammers". What I was actually referring to was the lack of media attention by WMUR and what I suggested was to send them an e-mail and let them know we were unhappy about the lack of coverage. I NEVER suggested recommending stories or sending in freelance pieces. You people really need to lighten up. I know this is a serious campaign but really let's not lose our sense of humor. That particular issue has been dealt with and they have already received many phone calls and e-mails. But when there is a shut out of our candidate by the media we need to make our voices heard by contacting the station or papers by phone and e-mail to let them know we are unhappy with their decision. They need to know there are more than a few of us "internet spammers" out here and that we care. In the spirit of the original comment - PLEASE "spam" away!!!! I really thought you all were mature enough to understand the comment but apparently a few of you are not. For the rest of you, I know you are adults who don't need to be told to play nice, be polite and mind your manners.

Stories

WMUR does accept story ideas -- it's called newstips.

However they probably simply didn't believe that there would be that many people showing up and missed the chance. Plenty of other outlets did and we got great coverage.

So, let's not sweat it.

They've also been put on notice that their articles are rather old (ITR/ICA 'crashing' and Carol being hospitalized around the time of the Iowa poll) but that's because they pick up from AP who has an agenda and is not current in their coverage.

Someone may have taken it to mean write a nasty email so I just wanted to make sure to remind folks to be polite when they send information and ideas to the media.

Repeat: I am actively looking for photos to use on the WMUR website. If you have any photos of Ron Paul in NH, please send to me or upload! Thanks.
