Excerpts:

AS IT HAPPENED: The floodwaters that swept away Tanu Tanu (inset) last Thursday as he tried to rescue a woman.

The body of a man described by his wife and fellow villagers as a “hero” has been found, taking the official death toll from Tropical Cyclone Evan to five.

Tanu Tanu, of Poutasi Falealili and Magiagi, Samoa was swept away by flash floods as he was trying to rescue a woman who nearly drowned at Magiagi last Thursday.

Mr. Tanu, 34, had managed to get the woman to safety on the riverbank when he was swept away by the surging current.

His body was washed ashore at Vaiala on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tanu’s wife, Pauta Tanu, is devastated by the loss of her husband. The 34-year-old {Mr. Tanu }was working as a Security Guard at Liquor Planet.

Mr. Tanu leaves behind four children and a pregnant wife.

“Right now, there is no hope left for me and my family,” said Mrs. Tanu.

“Tanu was the bread winner of our family and everyone in the family looks up to him as he is the only one working.”

As she was being interviewed, Mrs. Tanu cried as she held her husband’s ID card; which was the only photo of him she had.

“Our children are aged 10, 8, 7 and two-years old,” she said. “Three are in school while the youngest has yet to be sent to school. Now I have to find a way to bring them up on my own.”

Mrs. Tanu is pleading with anyone who can provide them with some assistance. She can be contacted by telephone at; 011+685 773-3324 or 011+685 775-9747 from the USA.

Sometimes I wish I was not so curious.

Then I would not have to keep pointing out stuff like this... I wondered where they got that name. In one language, it means flower. OK. But... It seems they made a craptastic movie by that name a few years back.

http://www.movieguide.org/reviews/movie/bopha.html

"Summary:
The film BOPHA! transforms the Zulu word meaning to detain into a revolutionary slogan as it fans the flames of politically correct racism and rebellion. The story focuses on a black South African policeman, played by Danny Glover, who finds he is hated by those he is dedicated to protecting, including his wife and son. Though the script is weak, BOPHA! works as a racist incitement to riot. As I left the theater's parking lot, five black youth pounded on my car and shouted racist epitaphs."

I am noting an oddity, not putting forth any theories.

My very best wishes to all in the path of this.

Warning!

Thanks for the update beesting...

Mindanao is the second largest island in the Philippines..
stayed there for a month... beautiful place..
the Muslim island has wanted to separate
from the Christian mainland for decades..
and won't be recovering very fast
or soon
as the central Manilla island will take care of itself
first.
They will survive though... they always have.

You're Welcome !
