McCain Sides With Democrats, Says Rand Paul Is Bolstering Case For Filibuster Reform By Blocking The NDAA
Submitted by AnAppealToHeavenWash on Tue, 12/04/2012 - 01:18Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz) said Tuesday on the Senate floor that Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-Ky.) efforts to block the National Defense Authorization Act validates Democrats’ arguments for reforming the filibuster.
“I find it disappointing that one member of the United States Senate feels that his particular agenda is so important that it affects the lives and the readiness and the capabilities of the men and women who are serving in the military and our ability to defend this nation,” McCain said. “I think it’s hard to answer to the men and women in the military with this kind of behavior, but I will leave that up to the senator from Kentucky to do so.”
Paul said he would filibuster the NDAA unless an amendment guaranteeing the right to a trial for Americans accused of terrorism went up for a vote in the Senate.
McCain said the hold “lends some credence to the argument that maybe we ought not to do business the way that we are doing it here in the United States Senate,” McCain said.

I asked a neutral question; prompting people to comment about Rand in addition to McCain, simply because I wanted to know more about Rand's actions.
The responses were along the lines of Rand's strategy. Good.

McCain never lets a chance
McCain never lets a chance for restraining governmental power serve as a pretext for hiding behind the necessity of defense and thus the continuation of governmental growth. In his view, protection of the basic rights of due process is too onerous for the objects he envisions are defensive in nature and necessarily required to the point that this country should resemble those countries he declaims are tyrannies in need of US intervention for implementation of those rights which are denied to Americans!

Well way more men and women in the military supported the father of the senator from Kentucky to be President(who was running against you Sen.McCain) and I believe they stand together on this issue. So that's not going to be a problem Johnny.
