DeMint retires, SC has potential for TWO liberty Senators

Today's big news was the retirement announcement of Senator Jim DeMint. There had earlier been some discussion in the DP forums of the candidacy of fusion Libertarian-Republican candidate Keith Blandford as being something of a spoiler for Tom Davis. Well, now, that's all changed!

For Davis, going up against the Graham machine is a HUGE political risk. Now, he can go after the empty seat, so that SC voters can support both him AND Blandford for Senate.

All of a sudden, South Carolina is looking like the liberty battleground of 2014! Imagine a statewide, get-out-the-vote campaign promoting TWO Ron Paul-inspired, liberty-minded, constitutional conservatives for US Senate. This could be BIG!

I just sent Governor Haley an email asking her to support Tom Davis. Not sure what impact an email from an Arizona resident will have but all you South Carolina residents better start bombarding her with emails and phone calls. I wish Arizona had a state senator like Davis. You are very lucky South Carolina. Now get to work!

Great idea. We need to lobby Nikki Haley to appoint a true fiscally conservative, limited government constitutionalist to DeMint's old seat.

Tom Davis is our best option.

This is especially important for people in SC. Any SC residents want to call Nikki Haley's Office?

What exactly is the point of electing "liberty candidates" if they're just going to get constantly bashed for not being "pure enough?" Do the Rand haters really think that Tom Davis is any better than Rand?

different. Now we know how the game is played. Much of the ground work has been laid. We have precinct walk lists, we have made relationships with media and we know where to spend our money. These races will not be "state and local" politics. The liberty candidates will have support from around the country.

2013-14 in South Carolina will be an exciting place to be for the liberty movement.
