A Galactic Perspective of December 21, 2012 - The Beginning or the End?

http://www.floweroflife.org/rh-convergence2012.pdf (start at page 6 for the diagram)

The article has some great pictures of the galaxy and some thought provoking ideas. The author suggests that half of a cyclical journey of our solar system through space (13000 years) is spent BELOW the galactic equator. The other half of the cyclical journey (13000 years) is spent ABOVE the galactic equator. The entire cycle is about 26000 years.

The author explains that December 21, 2012 places our solar system directly ON the galactic equator, the turning point of the 13000 year cycle. The Mayans start their new calendar at this time and place. So this is ZERO time.

For the next 13000 years the path of our solar system will be ABOVE the galactic equator. The Earth and all life will be subject to a different kind of electromagnetic energy. Our minds and bodies are electromagnetic energy, and therefore will be influenced by the different energy that will surround the solar system during this part of the Earth's journey around the galaxy.

These ideas can also be found in many religions and in the sacred Yoga of Parahamansa Yogananda and his teacher Sri Yukteswar from his book The Holy Science.

Some say it will lead to a different kind of human with increased intelligence and spiritual consciousness, a golden age for humanity. It will be interesting to watch this all unfold.

Alchemists had no knowledge

... of nuclear physics. How could they possibly know about particle bombardment? And physicist Tom Bearden is wrong. Transmutation by chemical means is not feasible. It is equivalent to saying you plan to lift a ten ton boulder with a tea spoon.

And the only organization which claims the Merlin Project has an accuracy of 85% is the Merlin Project itself. It is very convenient to make vague predictions ("something terrible will happen in the next five years!") and then apply it to the first major disaster which comes along, which is what most of the Merlin Project's "predictions" amount to.

Intricate crop circles are fraud

The simple one or three circle patterns seem to be natural or, let's say, 'non man caused'.

The intricate designs are done by enthusiasts the world over with wooden boards and long ropes. Multiple such enthusiasts have come clean.

Also, the simple patterns retain an electromagnetic and burning effect. The intricate ones lack it.

You interest me, young man, given that the higher mathmatics...

of the intricate designs are beyond the capabilities of most people, much less those with so little in their lives as to resort to making crop circles.

One of the reality shows attempting to debunk crop circles challenged a team from MIT to produce an artificial one with the following criteria:

o No more than four team members
o No more than four hours of darkness
o Must produce the electromagnetic anomalies found in "genuine crop circles"

The team did produce a small, simple one in four hours, but that is about it; and, we are talking "rocket scientists" here.

My personal favorites are the chilbolton crop circles, which appeared in fields adjacent to a large radio-telescope. I have worked at facilities such as these. Since they can easily locate spy satellites the facilities are guarded like a penitentiary, guards with automatic weapons, loaded, safeties off. Any "drunken Welshmen" mucking around in those fields would have ended up in a body bag.

The earth does not cross the galactic disk every 13000 years. The orbit of the earth around the center of the galaxy takes around 240 million years, so the earth would actually cross it every 120 million years. Current estimates say the solar system is about 100 light years above the galactic plane, or galactic disk. It won't be crossing it anytime soon.

Now earth does follow a 13,000 year cycle of a kind. It is called precession. When you spin a top very fast, the vertical axis "precesses" or rotates around slowly. Applied to the earth, this means the spin axis of the earth is moving around very slowly. Essentially, we are tilting in a different direction relative to the galaxy.

This precession cycle takes 26,000 years, so in 13,000 years we are tilted as far as we go one way, while 13,000 later we are tilted as far as we go the other way. This may make it seem like the tilt of the galaxy changes every 13,000 years, but it means nothing. Only our view of the galaxy from earth has changed.

We aren't crossing any galactic disk. There is no galactic alignment. There is nothing special about this particular time in celestial progression, nor is there anything special about Dec 21st.

All of the stuff described in that PDF article basically amounts to astrology. People shouldn't be so quick to believe in every mystical explanation for perfectly natural phenomena in astronomy.

thats actually the first time

thats actually the first time ive read an explanation like this, and i like it probably the best. it didnt initially make sense to me that something would oscillate as it orbits.

Thanks for the information.

Many ancient religions including Yoga speak of this cycle, and so does the Mayan calendar. I guess that cycle may just be the Earth's precession. I need to also do more research.

The track record of the Mayans has been astoundingly accurate at predicting celestial events, including every single lunar eclipse thousands of years into the future.

"The 2012 AD conjunction is one that involves the earth, sun, and the galactic equator, specifically at a time when the earth is at the winter solstice (northern hemisphere) point of its orbit, at a seasonal extreme. Now, an event of this sort certainly does not occur every year, but rather once only every 25800 years. And this is due to a very subtle celestial motion: precession." http://www.ancient-world-mysteries.com/2012.html

From the point of view of the sun

... the earth crosses the galactic equator (totally different than the galactic disk or plane) twice per year. It's not some 13,000 year thing. In fact, almost anything that orbits another thing in the galaxy will cross the galactic equator twice or more during each orbit.

The galactic equator is just the backdrop of the milky way moving around because our position relative to the sun is changing. We are not actually crossing any real plane of anything, only our view of the galaxy is changing.

Because of precession, the time of the year this "crossing" occurs slowly changes. Coincidentally, the crossing in 2012 happens very close to the winter solstice. However, earth's precession happens so slowly that this crossing was just as close during the 2011 winter solstice. And nothing special happened then. The 2013 crossing will also happen very close to the winter solstice, and nothing special will happen then.

The truth is, we can always find some astronomical quirk or coincidence to point to that makes this or that moment special, because every moment is special, and will never happen again. Really, things like transits and star occlusions are much more impressive than this particular coincidence.

You just made my Friday!

Fantastic document containing everything I have been piecing together over the last few years. Learning about the brainwave states is why I stopped watching tv as well as smoking marijuana before bed. I end my nights in deep meditation as often as possible although it's been a consistent thing these past couple weeks. Just "tuning" my instrument before the symphony.

Thank you very much for this enlightening post!

Can you recommend a good

source to learn about brainwaves? I am interested in this too. Thanks:)

Maybe you've seen Spirit Science ?

The graphics are goofy but they have great information that is easy to understand.

I second this!

It's all there in the PDF doc in the OP

starting at the bottom of page 26. I've heard and read a bit here and there enough to sort of piece it all together in my mind but that doc does a great job of breaking it down.

You really just need an awareness of what activities induce which brainwaves and then do less or more of that depending on which is your focus. This is why so many attribute the beginning of their "awakening" after stopping or greatly limiting the amount of television they watch. I did the same as well as making meditation a part of my life.

The document

does rather bring many loose ends together. I used to meditate every morning and night. Now my life seems like one endless meditation, no matter what I am doing. The Prism of Lyra is another book to read. It is mentioned in the article.

Yes, so true

It eventually becomes a part of your daily life. Looking back I find it hard to believe I am where I am today in such a relatively short amount of time.

Thanks for the book recommendation. Will check it out :)

Amazing. Life long pursuit,

but sudden awakening to conscious awareness of higher realms six years ago, and there is no where to go but forward. Increasing numbers of children are being born already connected to the higher realms, functioning in the Gamma brain wavelength at birth. It is evolution at work. What we have had to work for they are being born with. The Prism of Lyra has some interesting ideas. I trust my higher self for truth.

Autobiography of a yogi was a great book, but I am more a babaji fan than a sri fan;-)

Babaji is inspiring,

and cool. Sri Yukteswar was Parahamansa's guide and mine also. So too is Jesus.

I can't

Wait !! Thanks for the uplifting post.

Hi celeste

I too prefer this optimistic upbeat view. There is nothing to fear and everything to hope for.
