Korean Youtube Sensation PSY hates U.S. foreign policy

How ironic: Americans love this guy for creating a song and video that has zero meaning to their lives, but once it's discovered he's a critic of our foreign policy, his 15 minutes of fame is about to come to an end. His anti-American lyrics no doubt cross the line and are distasteful, but at least this story challenges the illusion citizens of countries we occupy consider our troops liberators.

‘Gangnam Style’ Singer PSY’s Vitriolic Anti-American Past Revealed, Outrage Ensues
by Andrew Kirell | Mediate

"...During a 2002 protest concert against the presence of 37,000 American troops in Korea, PSY took the stage in gold face-paint and, with the crowd egging him on, lifted a miniature “American tank” and smashed it on the ground to massive applause.

UPDATE: The performance was inspired by the recent death of two Korean school girls who were run over by an American tank in South Korea. The soldiers driving the tank were acquitted by a US military court.

And then in 2004, a Korean missionary was captured in Iraq by Islamists who demanded that South Korea not send troops to aid America in the war in Iraq. Seoul refused to negotiate and the missionary was beheaded. The result: massive protests throughout Korea against both Muslim extremism and the U.S. military for indirectly bringing this fate upon a Korean missionary..."

When Koreans say they want to see someone die slowly and painful

ly, that's not what they really mean.

It's part of their culture to talk extremely big. Kind of like American culture actually.

Defeat the panda-industrial complex

Not What He Said, But How He Said It

Psy could have made his point without calling for the murder of innocent people unrelated to the War on Terror.

“Kill those fucking Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives/Kill those fucking Yankees who ordered them to torture/Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers/Kill them all slowly and painfully."

These statements are not representative of the libertarian criticism of U.S. foreign policy. Two wrongs do not make a right.

"but once it's discovered he's a critic of our foreign policy, his 15 minutes of fame is about to come to an end."

Is it? The US is not the whole world and Psy seems to have a following in most of the rest of it. Outside of the US, few will obsess about a song he sung 10 years ago.

How come the Obama administration gets to call it a "Christmas" concert and public schools have to call such things "holiday" concerts? It strains the imagination to figure out how PSY fits into any Christmas theme unless Christmas is being used to woo Asian-American voters. Maybe every season is campaign season in Obamaland and PSY will be distributing Obama Phones while dancing.

a majority of americans are

a majority of americans are also against american foreign policy so i don't see how this hurts Psy. he is just saying what we all feel over here.

I doubt most Americans would sing "Kill their daughters,

mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers. Kill them all slowly and painfully."

About families of U.S troops...

He's not saying what I feel on that one.

I love Psy and he has his right to express his feelings about

The American Empire. That's fine, I still love him.

Right Now

kinda sick of people going off on their own and liking this guy

then going off in a tangent on him, like flipping a switch

don't take a liking on somebody unless you are sure, once you are dedicated, don't switch off easily. that should be the way. i swear some of the population is fucking mentally ill like some retard attention deficit kid

I disagree

A first impression shouldn't be the last word.

The answer to North Korea is unilateral free trade

There's an easy answer to the North Korea problem. Unilateral free trade with them. South Korea should do free trade with them, too. We shouldn't make them, but it would be in their best interest. Koreans, like PSY are misguided. They specifically blame us for keeping the two countries from reuniting. The only way this can happen is through free trade and peace. I'm sure China would be happy to pressure them to liberalize a bit if it meant they had to give their ally less free shit. They fight against sanctions, but they'd be be crazy to fight against peaceful commerce. Maybe North Korea would refuse, but no one's tried it yet. I think it's time we try.

Ok one of us it mistaken

As far as I know North Korea is willing to trade but it is the U.S. that is the main obstacle. It is the U.S. that forces trade embargoes and does everything they can to demoralize and financially destroy North Korea. North Korea trades with those who will trade with them.

I love Psy even more now.

I just wished he had not apologized.

AND...Since I FUND the flawed U.S. foreign policy and killing...

...I have every right to hate it and speak out on it.

EVERY DEATH on foreign soil caused by American presence has every one of our names on it.

I know the establishment republicans are fine with that, but why aren't the anti-war liberals screaming about it???

Because they got their stooge in office, so they don't dare mention it.

RNC = DNC: Party first - Israel second - U.N. third - USA a distant fourth in their order of priority.

And to hell with the Constitution.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."

Deaths on foreign soil do not

Deaths on foreign soil do not have my name on them. That's like holding me responsible for what a mobster does with the money he takes from me at gunpoint. The choice to not be murdered or raped in inhumane prisons is not a choice at all, and it's more than a little insulting to imply that it is.

You are right that you and I

You are right that you and I are not personally responsible, but pawnstorm isn't far off either. While I don't agree that each and every one of us are responsible, the collective American public do bear blame for these deaths.

American citizens vote in the people making these decisions. Our taxes are collected by people appointed by those we voted in to office, and these funds used to carry out actions that a fraction of us recognize to be terribly objectionable.

I don't see myself as responsible for any specific death, but I can't disagree with people blaming larger groups that I am a member of, such as America or the American public, for allowing these tragedies to continue & to keep escalating.

Admittedly these are lies being fed to the public, thereby keeping us misinformed to various degrees & that lessens outcry and mitigates some blame; but doesn't fully exonerate the public - at least not in my eyes.

I was in Korea in 94-95

and at least once a month there were protests outside the gate
"Go home G.I. Go home G.I." is what they chanted!

I was deployed to Korea in

I was deployed to Korea in 2000 for a couple months and remember getting the liberty brief about how we'd be kicked out of several stores because the locals hated U.S. Marines. And that's exactly what ended up happening.

Right on Psy! I couldn't agree more.

I hate U.S. foreign policy as well.

END ALL U.S. foreign aid to EVERY country.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."

Absolutely. Many of us hate

Absolutely. Many of us hate our foreign policy. I'm sure the same could be said about many of the citizens of other countries. Leadership often seems to be either inciting war or engaging in warfare.

My wife

My wife know all about this man. He is an underground rapper in Korea, he would be similar to NWA in America. So, this is not surprising to her or I. This is who he really is, not the silly Gangnam Style singer, which most americans don't realize that he is mocking singers like that. This is a rude awakening for american parents who think he is just a funny asian man in a tux. In South Korea he was arrest for avoiding the military, which everyone serves cause of the draft, and arrested for smoking pot.

A subversive, eh?

I knew I liked him for a reason.

forced military and smoking

forced military and smoking pot and exposing a corrupt us foreign policy. , hmmm bad bad boy lmfao. Psy is expressing his views through music. first time that has happened!

Ron Paul 2016

The lyrics calling for the killing of Americans...

were definitely over the line. But, why is criticizing US government foreign policy considered anti-American? Makes no sense, using that logic, most Americans would be considered anti-American!

I don't think he was calling for "death to all Americans"

I don't think he was calling for "death to all Americans". From what I read, it seemed like he was specifically calling out the people who committed the atrocities.

As an aside, we don't even know if he meant it literally or if he was just lashing out in a moment of anger.

Inciting violence as a

Inciting violence as a response to violence is obviously a bad idea. An even worse idea is for our troops to continue to occupy every "friendly" country on Earth as a means of 'protecting our interests'...

Psy can complain against USA, but

he cannot openly say anything against S. Korean president.

Otherwise, it is an automatic 5 year sentence in S. Korean jail. American people who died in Korean war should be happy with Korean democracy. Should we blame Zionists or neo-cons? Let me see, Korean war was before neo-cons.... It means it is Zionists to blame.

Korean war was not before

Korean war was not before neo-cons, neo-cons came out of WW2.

Alexander Hamilton

By my keeping records, Alexander Hamilton was the first neo-con. He wanted United States to be a Central Bank backed (mirror image of Bank of England owned by ZIONISTS) world empire, to become a mirror image of the British empire of those days.
