"Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it." -- Joseph Goebbels
I'm starting to really like Amash! Rand should take note!
This is a war folks. We need people to stand the line and guard the Constitution.
The senate NO vote from Rand would have rang louder and helped with the Romney ensorderment mistake. I hope Rand learns that soon and takes note of Justin calling out the "leadership" congressional cartel.
Amash didn't endorse Romney either!
Rand had his chance. But Justin has seized the day.
Justin, I commend you for your courage. Keep it up.
I was hoping for Mike Lee, but he hasn't done anything. Rand has been too busy endorsing Mitt and playing politics which has, predictably, caused a large portion of passionate supporters to go lukewarm on him, despite the otherwise good work he's doing.
I hope Justin keeps it up. He's been elected twice, and may have just secured his NEXT re-election by this turn of events.

You can hate on Rand for endorsing Romney, but that doesn't change the fact that Justin was also involved with the Romney 2012 campaign..
Justin also voted for some sanctions on Iran, foreign aid to Israel and free trade agreements, all things that Ron Paul opposed.
You're never going to get another Ron Paul, so we should settle for Rand.

That Ron Paul voted against. (John Dingell was the only other Nay vote.)
I am a huge fan of Justin Amash, but I'm getting sick of this anti-Rand propaganda when Justin has made similar votes.
Do you realize that Justin voted for sanctions against Iran as well? How is he any better than Rand?
I wrote you another response, please read.
As for this response, I also endorse Justin. However, it is important to fully vet every politician. Justin is as close to Ron Paul as one could get, but that does not exclude him either.
Justin could very well be the youth vote that is required to save our Republic.
"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul
What's wrong with Rand? Rand has a much better chance of becoming president than Justin.
What's wrong with Justin? Justin has a much better chance of becoming president raking in the youth and Liberty votes than Rand.
Rand will not attract the democrats who supported Ron Paul.
Everyone who follows American politics, even remotely, knows the name Rand Paul. I have yet to meet anyone who knows Justin Amash aside from hardcore Ron Paulites.
Don't get me wrong, Justin Amash is one of my heroes and it was an honor to shake his hand at CPAC 2011, but let's be realistic here.
If you look throughout modern history there is no member of the House who has even come close to getting the GOP nomination (including Ron Paul).
GOP candidates were all former VPs, governors or Senators.
lies, lies and more lies ! They will stop at nothing to convince the voting sheep that the country has moved left and wants more government....and what is the approval rating for Congress right now?.. Single digits? The establishment and their media lapdogs are disgusting with their smug facial expressions...I wish i could get 5 minutes face to face with these Hacks, i'd rearrange their face for them ....
"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin."
The federal establishment narrowly defines "America" as its evil agenda, then condemns anyone who dissents as "un-American." This is what Republicans did to Ron Paul for years. In particular, Newt Gingrich's proclamation that Ron Paul's opinions are not "held by any decent Americans," and so on and so forth.
These purges prove that Republicans are preparing to, once again, sell "conservatives" down the river.

Government is supposed to protect our freedom, our property, our privacy, not invade it. Ron Paul 2007
the GOP is a front for the global mafia. they dont care to represent people, a party, or anything other than those they serve.
the idea of changing this group of traitors seems impossible, wasteful, and full of folly....but i tip my hat to those who are willing to try.
A rounder, thicker set of glasses, and who does he remind you of??
He was also drummed out for criticizing the Fed.
Watching this is really sickening to me- not because of Justin Amash, he did in fact quite good in my opinion. But the deceiving and polarising messages that CNN tries to get across here turn me off the whole thing big time. Now we all know how the MSM acts i assume. But please read below, by which examples i specify that, how Justin reacts, and why i think there may be an alternative to his reaction. Thank you :)
These quotes say a lot to me and they should do the same to all Americans who aren't in complete denial of how they're being played off against each others:
CNN Guy: "[..]i mean the leadership is the leadership. Don't you think they are entitled to decide who sits on their commitees?"
Amash: (paraphrasing) "No, the people sent us ALL there to work this out, that's of course why kicking uns off committees isn't really legitimate."
CNN Guy with big cynical grin: "So you're saying the leadership is out of touch with you? I mean either you are out of touch with them, or they are." [Guy suppressing his grin]
Justin: "They are."
And that's where Justin may have made a strategic mistake in my opinion. What he may have said instead is:
"I think it's not a question of who is out of touch with whom, i think it is a question of what our obligation is as representatives of the people, and how we work things out along these lines on Capitol Hill to really get the things done which matter most to the American people."
So this is precisely why this stuff gets me a bit mad- there may be a bigger context to the Liberty Movement's success here: specifically on how we are pointedly prevented on getting the big public acceptance our ideas deserve.
Justin got caught -just for a moment- on what i want to call a "them against us - paradigme". I think this stuff hurts the Movement a lot, since we will win surely by integrating and convincing people, not by turning them off or away and looking like a bunch of crazy rebels who just want to get into aggressive fights with everybody.
This is a rEVOLution !!!, so it's about LOVE. i beg you all to not forget about that.
they dont give a shit about the liberty movement
Many ignore us but in order for them to shake us off they need to confront us in discussion. That's precisely where we can win lots of minds over if we know how to justly articulate our common cause and make the case for Liberty. In other words, i think the more we are being ignored the more we need to really give a shit about people who we can help understand the idea of Liberty.
By seeking civil discussion and properly articulating the cause this could indeed spread like wildfires, no matter what in the world may be thrown at us. It's our ideas that win, if we can articulate them justly.
Btw, this is a worldwide thing but US-Americans have imo the most decent body of laws set up already as a virtually perfect condition for people to come together in this cause to bring lasting peace among mankind.
The Constitution exists already. But it needs to be fully respected by the people. Therefore our duty is to educate ourselves and others more than anything. It takes a lot of patience, but it is well worth it. Always win people over instead of turning them away, we have the winning arguments :)
For goodness sake if we are going to keep calling it the tea party, then why don't we actually form the "TEA PARTY" as an option to vote for candidates and become a true third party. Libertarian party will never succeed but a TEA PARTY could get traction quickly. People are fed up with weak kneed republicans and know there is not a difference between Dems/Pubs.
IT IS NOT A WASTED VOTE!
Sheesh. All the MSM wants is the juice. Do you think Boehner should be fired, yes or no.
Congress is purging the real conservatives, taking back their oaths not to raise taxes, and fixin' to make the Grand Compromise with the Left. We are seeing the two parties completely meld into one before our eyes. Time for a new, truly Conservative party, and I nominate Amash as its leader.
When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign: that the dunces are all in confederacy against him. ~J. Swift
I love how they switch "heads" for every other question. You think you're talking to one, then all of a sudden there's a different one up there. Very choppy, probably some tactic to try and throw the "interviewee" off balance, but Justin remained cool - wtg!
He is prepared for what is coming his way. He is unafraid of 434-1 votes and the ostracizing, ridicule, and disrespect that he will now be shown by his peers. Republicans will not be changed by voting with them when that vote is unconstitutional. I believe that he already got himself reelected for 2014 by his stance today. He has now established a reputation as a "fringe republican" who actually wants a balanced budget!? He is uncompromising when it come to following the Constitution. A Ron Paul wanna-be is Amash no longer. Until proven otherwise, he has secured for himself the mantle of being the next Ron Paul, IMO.
If this party has a future, Justin Amash will have to play a leadership role in it. The current republican leadership sickens me.
The founders would be ashamed at us for what we are putting up with.
weasel smile and slobber when Amash gave him their soundbite.
If anyone else gets kicked off committees they should resign themselves to giving up their seats to the Democrats. As crazy as that sounds it would stop this nutcase from destroying the Republican Party, which he has done quite fashionably well over the last few years.
He is my #2 behind Ron Paul. No oscillating views here, honest, with integrity. I hope he runs for President is all I can say.
like they do.
A true flower can not blossom without sunlight and a true man can not live without love.
Why isn't anyone here criticizing his support for a balanced-budget amendment? An excuse to raise taxes is just what it is. Sheesh, you guys are so quick to kiss his a$$.
It doesn't give "an excuse to raise taxes," but it does balance spending with the average annual revenues of the three prior years.
as opposed to what? An unbalanced budget? Sheehs... get real..
If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...
